Work Text:
it was 11pm on a friday night, though that doesn't effect the massive amount of small street stores in down town of lumine and ayaka's city. the streets weren't as packed as they were during the day, but there was enough people for the stores to remain busy. ayaka had suggested she and her girlfriend stay in down town for two weeks for the holidays, they had just left their hotel and were now walking along the lively streets once again.
it wasn't very cold, so the couple wore simple, matching coats. lumine had a pale yellow coat with a moon embraided into the material just where her heart is, while ayaka had a pale blue coat with a sun embraided in the same place. the girls held hands and further explored what all the shops had to offer, with the wind blowing in their hair.
ayaka had always had long, gorgeous, soft blueish hair which she often kept tied up. when her and lumine arrived in the city, she decided she let loose and wear her hair down the entire two weeks. lumine used to always cut her hair since she felt it was less of a hassle to take care of that way, but wanted a change of looks for a while, so she started letting it grow for months now. her hair was now a little past her upper arm, and it looked wonderful in the night with the moonlight and all the neon signs.
the girls wandered farther and farther into the packed streets full of people, until it became less and less lively. the lights started getting more distant, and eventually the girls found themselves with a bunch of trees and a fence fencing off the other side.
lumine looked at her love with a mischievous look, then gestured her head towards the fence. ayaka sighed "really lumine?"
"yes really! who knows what we might find!" lumine tugged at their intertwined hands. the bluenette hesitated, what if they died?! but then again there's nothing to lose, right?
lumine raised her eyebrow with slight concern in her eyes. ayaka breathed in and released the breath with a smile. "let's go"
they walked (more like lumine ran and dragged ayaka with her) towards the fence and with further inspection, the fence was busted. there were a lot of big holes in the wires, but none of them were big enough for a teenage girl to squeeze through. lumine stuck the tip of her foot into one of the smaller holes, letting go of ayaka's hand, and slowly climbed the fence. ayaka watched her girlfriend as she climbed the wrecked wires and felt a little uneasy. she had only ever climbed a few trees and even then she struggled to pull herself up.
"love? your turn" lumine called from the other side. ayaka swallowed her fear and copied lumine's movements, slowly climbing the rusty structure. when she reached the top, she stopped and had a look of panic on her face. lumine noticed this and instructed her to swing her leg over the top, then to slowly let her body slide down until she can swing her other leg over.
ayaka obeyed and swung her leg over ever so gently, then slowly lowered herself until her whole body was on the other side of the fence. once her feet reached the solid ground, she let go of the wires and turned around, breathing heavily.
lumine gave her a semi aggressive hug and kissed her jaw "you're so cool, y'know that?"
ayaka giggled and returned the embrace, linking hands with her lover after. they walked around with the moonlight guiding them, until they found a dirt road leading to an large open area. the girls followed the dirt road and found themselves a rather big skating rink, with one of those pay phone booths off to the side, and a few wooden bleachers. the place was completely empty, but there were a lot of lights around the rink and lights from the headlights of cars on the roads around where they were. lumine once again started sprinting and dragged ayaka with her, only stopping when she reached the rim of the rink.
ayaka looked amazed, she had never had the chance to go skating, she was always busy helping her family and studying for school to think about attempting the activity, while lumine skated for a hobby. ayaka had been to a couple of her girlfriend's skating performances and had always thought she looked breathtaking drifting on the ice like that.
before she could process anything, lumine had let go of her hand and was standing steadily on the ice, despite only wearing black combat boots. she held out her hand
"care to dance with a sinner?"
ayaka blushed, then giggled and took the girl's hand "it does take two to tango, doesn't it? what sins have you even committed?"
lumine gently tugged ayaka by the hand and took her in her arms, spinning her around on the ice, then tilting her body back, wrapping her arm around her lover's waist to secure her. lumine looked ayaka in the eyes, holding her in a bridal position but keeping her feet on the ground (dunno how 2 describe it do not sue me).
"being so deeply in love with a female is a sin. kissing a girl so passionately is shamed. we're told we have to marry a rich man and have his babies, but what if we don't want to do that? what if tonight, we forget about the world for a moment, and just hold each other under the moonlight? would you do that with me?" lumine breathed, an unreadable expression visible on her face.
ayaka blinked, her eyes wide. after a few seconds, her face softened
"of course, if you're a sinner, i'll be one with you. you'll be my sinner, only mine" she breathed back.
lumine smiled. she took her love's hand and danced with her on the ice. she guided ayaka gracefully on the ice, so gracefully it was like ayaka had done this hundreds of times before.
she spinned ayaka around again and pulled her close towards her own body, keeping her hands on her waist and upper torso.
"let's dance the night away" lumine laughed.
ayaka joined in on her girlfriend's laughter as she guided her on the ice, with the big lights shining on them and the stars glimmering above them beautifully.
they tangoed on the ice for archons know how long, but what did that matter when they were alone? they had so much freedom tonight, they decided to dedicate it to each other.
lumine slowed down on the ice until they were standing still in the middle of the rink, all warm and huddled in each other's arms. ayaka gazed into lumine's eyes, soon locking lips with her.
they stood their in each other's embrace, just loving the other, basking in the moonlight, laughing together, it was a perfect love.
