“What do you think you would have done if you were born in a different time?” Kazutora hugged his legs and rested his chin on his knees. “Depends,” Baji hummed, “How far back are we talking?” Kazutora leaned his head to the side, to look at his friend. “Say, 200 years ago. We wouldn’t be gang members so what do you think we would’ve been?” Baji fell back and lay on the concrete. “God. You do ask some hard questions sometimes, Tora. But! I’d like to think we would be sailors travelling the world.” Kazutora laughed, “Sailors? What about pirates!” Baji shook his head. “Pirates are too mean. We’d be sailors. Nomads. We would travel the world together. Fuck this life.”
Kazutora lay next to his friend. It fucking hurt to only be a friend to him. “People would call us pirates but we’d know better,” he was on his side, looking at Baji. He looked beautiful under the faint light pollution making his features glow slightly. This was one of the few memories that Kazutora held onto so hard that if it was an object, it would break.
Baji noticed Kazutora’s stares and turned his face to look at him, “What’cha lookin’ at?” His grin was intoxicating, infecting every being around him to mimic that beautiful smile. Kazutora smiled back, “You, stupid.” Baji unnoticeably inched closer to his friend, if you could even call them that. The other Toman members definitely didn’t call them just friends. Just those two did.
Kazutora couldn’t help but glance at Baji’s lips. Baji wasn’t stupid. He was quite perceptive, all things considered, so he noticed Kazutora’s glances. To be honest, anyone could’ve noticed Kazutora’s glances. Baji shifted and propped himself up on his elbow, looking down at Kazutora. He cupped his face with his hand and whispered, “Can I kiss you?”
Baji wasn’t always kind, but always tried to not let that side show when it came to Kazutora. He nodded and Baji connected their lips. Baji slowly pulled away and Kazutora slightly chased him, leaning up a little.
“Are you wearing chapstick?” Kazutora’s face was bright red and Baji laughed. He stroked his cheek with his thumb and admired the blushing mess under him. He lightly kissed Kazutora again before laying down back next to him to stare at the sky.
“I changed my mind, Tora. We would be pirates.” It somewhat hurt that Baji acted like nothing happened at first. However, “They often had marriages between shipmates. I would’ve liked to marry you, if we were pirates.” Kazutora’s blush darkened and he elbowed Baji slightly in the side. “You can’t just say something like that, idiot. I might start actually liking you.”
Baji put his arm round Kazutora, pulling him closer, “Would that be so bad?”
