Work Text:

“Alright you guys let get this settled!” Colepere shouted as he turned to face everyone. “It seems like there’s only one way to resolve this debate. Guards over there, exiles over there.” Fext floated up through the island, hiding themself from the Raposa in the mess hall. They searched the area for a familiar face, be it Ocean, Robigo, or any of the other friends they had made in their countless decades on the island.

“Jsem zase sám. Moji přátelé mě opustili a lidé mě nemohou vidět,” they mumbled as they rose to the apex of the island. Searching the horizon for any vessels, Fext slumped onto a rock formation and began to weep. However, a ship finally arrived, and when it docked, Fext noticed their lost friend Ocean.

“Oceán! Jsi zpět pro mě! Díky příteli!” They flew down to the port but were shocked to find that Ocean couldn’t see them. “Oceán! Oceán!!! Slyšíš mě?” Ocean and her four new friends walked down the dock and into the island, ignorant of Fext and their screams for attention. However, when the final Raposa stepped foot on the rocky ground of the island, a massive earthquake began, and Fext heard a voice scream out.

“Someone help me! I’m stuck! Please!!!” Fext turned towards the sound, facing the lowest levels of the island. As they descended into the island in search of the voice, it grew louder and louder. “I’m here! I’m still alive! Please don’t leave me alone!!!”

“Přicházím! Počkejte prosím, až vás najdu!” After tracking the voice to a dark cavern at the bottom of the island, Fext came across a giant, white crystal.

“Thank the Creator you’ve arrived! Please, help me out of here!” Fext looked around the room for a body, or at the very least, another spirit. When they couldn’t find anything, they responded to the voice.

“Slyším tvůj hlas, ale nevidím tě. kde jsi?”

“I’m in the Mannequite! Please, let me out!” Fext hovered towards the crystal, assuming it was the Mannequite that the voice spoke of.

“Nemám tělo, abych rozbil tento krystal. Je mi líto, ale nemohu vám pomoci.”

“Nonsense! Just place your hand on it, and I’ll take care of the rest.” Fext reached out their hand, extending it towards the crystal, hesitating. “Do not be afraid. I promise, I will not harm you, my friend.” Fext closed their eyes and took a deep breath, placing their hand on the crystal. Suddenly, the room was flooded with a brilliant, white light. “Keep your hand on the crystal! Do not remove it whatever you do!”

“Co se stane, když to udělám?”

“We both die.” Fext shuddered and watched as the light began to flow down their body, tracing down where veins and muscle would be on a typical Raposa. As the light grew brighter, Fext felt pain for the first time in centuries.

“Prosím nech mě jít! To bolí!” The voice didn’t respond, and most of the light was now emitting from Fext’s form. Fext began to fall to the ground, unable to control their visibility. “Co mi to děláš?” The voice remained silent as the last bit of light floated onto Fext’s form. The new Raposa figure began to lose its shine as Fext gained more and more senses that they lost throughout time.

              “Thank you very much, Fext.”

“Kde jsi? Co se stalo s mým tělem?”

“This is your body now. Welcome back to the land of the living!” Fext looked at the now transparent crystal as the light in the room faded away, leaving the room dark once more. Fext began to run up the stairs, revealing their new, white-furred hands to the light. They darted past guards and exiles who were going to rearrange the exile quarters, revealing the white-furred body that was draped in white ribbons and fabric. As Fext reached the top of the stairs, they saw Ocean’s brown furred friend leaving the island with the rest of their group, along with three exiles and a guard.

“Oceán! Počkej na mě! Už můžu jít s tebou!” The remaining exiles and guards faced the Raposa, but Ocean’s friends refused to turn around, leaving the island on their ship. “Proč mě neslyší?”

“Your body may be corporeal again, but for the time being, you and I are stuck on this island. Our influence cannot reach beyond.” Fext stood in the entrance of the island, watching as the ship disappeared over the horizon.

              “Vliv? Jak získáme více?”

“Just do what I do, and I promise that you’ll be able to see your friend again.” Suddenly, the voice took over Fext’s body, vibrating their vocal cords in an unfamiliar way.

“Attention exiles and guards! Welcome to a new age! The shadow has been ejected from our realm, and as such, I have returned!” The Raposa in the common room stared at Fext in confusion.

“Excuse me, but just who are you?” Brûlées asked the figure as the ribbons and fabric floated elegantly around the body.

“My name is Allight, and I’m here to save you from your sinful ways!” Allight raised their arms as a beam of light passed through the common room, entering the bodies of the Raposa, causing the light to emit from their orifices. “Welcome to salvation my friends, and welcome to a new age of happiness!”
