Chapter Text
Daphne leaned againest the back door and slid down it slowly. Another slow work day had finally passed, and she was beyond ready to pass out.
She left the bakery and walked back to their house, Bowen was already home, he got to leave early. Lucky.
It also didn't help that it was very hot outside, like boiling hot-
Nobody ever comes to the bakery when the world is melting, but her parents always insisted that her and Bowen still go. She arrived home and the sudden temperature change scared her a little, but also gave her relief. Daphne went to her room and took a very long and deserved nap.
--
Bowen and Mikhael were in the kitchen when they heard the door open and get shut loudly.
"She's finally home-"
"...I kind of feel bad for her Mikhael."
"Why? You're not her, you got to stay home with me!"
"Look at her, idiot-!" He whisper-yelled and made him look towards the stairs.
Daphne was slowly making her way up the stairs, she looked tired.
"Ehhh- I guess I get why you feel bad-" He turned back to Bowen.
"Maybe go check on her or something, I don't know-" Mikhael mumbled the last bit and walked away.
He stood there, alone now, alright, he'll go check on her.
--
Bowen got to her door and knocked on it lightly.
No answer?
He knocked again.
Normally he'd leave her alone for a while, but they shared a room.
He gave up knocking and opened the door.
She was dead asleep. Completely knocked out. Is she even breathing?
Bowen ignored it and set a glass of water on the nightstand next to her bed.
...what now? He thought.
Bowen walked to his bed and sat on the floor next to it thinking about tommorow,
he was going back to work.
