The Truth [DISCONTINUED]

Summary:

Luz has been crushing on Amity for a while, but, whenever Amity seems to reciprocate her feelings, she freaks out, runs away, and then later denies that whatever Amity had been doing was in any way romantic.
But, when a note Luz had prepared goes missing, she has to face the truth, whether she's ready, or not

Sort of a spin off of Gravesfield vs Hexside, since it has a lot of similar elements and some jokes carry over, but you don't need to read that one to understand this one, as it takes place in an alternate universe of that alternate universe (no I refuse to phrase it as anything simpler)

She’s just as susceptible to being a gay mess as you are to being a bi mess

The_Good_Witch_Luzura: …
Ive got stuff to do
Better stuff
Than to listen to these LIES

Luz closed her messaging app with a huff, and looked over to where Amity was sitting, with her back against a tree, a book in hand (Good Witch Azura!!! Like she couldn’t get any more perfect!), and with the way the sun cast dappled shadows of the leaves onto her, she looked prettier than ever.

Which was an accomplishment very hard to achieve, since the girl already looked like a goddess among men.

Amity looked up from her book, and smiled at Luz. “Hey. Are you okay? You seem a little… red.”

“It’s just Gus and Willow. They were teasing me. And spouting LIES !” Luz punctuated her statement by flinging her arms out, and Amity giggled, making Luz’s face heat up, and a goofy smile spread across her face.

“What kind of lies were they spouting?” Amity asked, and Luz felt her throat close.

“Oh- um, you know. Dumb stuff.” Luz replied, glancing away.

“What kind of ‘dumb stuff’ were they saying?” Amity pressed, but Luz didn’t reply, instead curling in on herself and staring out across the grassy fields of the park, where she could see other people having fun, some playing with their dogs, and other people having picnics, some even grilling steak and the like.

Luz heard Amity get up behind her, but didn’t glance over, keeping her eyes on one pair as their dog caught a frisbee, until she felt a light pressure on her side, coming up to rest her shoulder.

She glanced back to find that Amity had rested her head on Luz’s shoulder, and was staring up at her through her eyelashes, and Luz swore that her heart stopped.

“I can tell that whatever they said bothered you. Want to talk about it?”

Luz glanced down at her phone, fiddling with it even as her face burned a bright red, and decided to tell the truth.

Well, a version of it.

“They were teasing me about a crush.” Luz admitted, and she felt Amity still beside her.

Before wrapping one arm around Luz’s.

This girl was determined to kill her with just her own gayness, she was sure of it.

“Want to tell me about them? I promise I won’t judge, or tease, or anything like that.” Amity said, and Luz felt her mouth dry.

“Um,” Luz began, glancing back at the rest of the park, feeling her heart in her throat. “It’s- a girl. She’s really nice, and… I don’t know what to do with myself when I’m around her. I don’t want to ruin our friendship, but…”

“It’s hard to ignore your feelings.” Amity finished, and Luz glanced at her, seeing the strained smile, and got the feeling that she knew exactly what she was talking about.

Luz nodded, then went back to fiddling with her phone, trying not to feel jealous about whoever Amity had a crush on.

They are definitely one lucky person to have Amity’s admiration.

“Exactly.”

There was a brief stretch of silence, with Amity nuzzling into Luz’s side, until Luz coughed, and mumbled, “But this is probably nothing. I mean you’ve got your mom and stuff, that must be ten times harder to deal with than just my dumb little crush.”

“Hey, just because other people might have bigger problems doesn’t mean that yours are insignificant.” Amity said firmly, taking Luz’s cheek in her palm to guide Luz into faceing her. “Your feelings aren’t dumb, or stupid, or insignifigant, or anything like that.”

Luz’s head filled with a deafening buzzing, and she could barely hear what Amity said next, as she brought their faces closer together.

“Because, even though it might not seem like it, they might like you too.”

Their lips were about a hair’s breadth away, before Luz jerked back, her face completely red, and yelled, “WELL, IT WAS NICE SEEING YOU AGAIN!!! OKAY BYE!!!” before running off.

Amity watched her leave, a frown on her face, before pulling out her phone.

WitchChick128: She rejected my advances again
Does she not actually like me?

Fish: What?!?!

Chips: AGAIN?!?!!!!!

WitchChick128: Yep
We were talking about crushes (she’s definitely got some self-esteem issues there, but we’ll deal with those later) and I tried to convince her that I liked her too, but she ran off
Does she not actually like me?

Chips: Nah, she def likes you

Fish: She probably just panicked
Again

WitchChick128: This is the fifth time
I’m starting to think you two are just feeding me a bunch of lies

Chips: What?!?!?!
Us?!?!?!
Lie to you?!?!?!
Never!!!!!!!

Fish: Mittens, she turns bright red when she sees you walk through the door
There’s no way she DOESNT have a crush on you

WitchChick128: Yeah but
She keeps rejecting me
It hurts

Chips: Shes just being a bisexual disater
As always

Amity sighed, and shut her phone off.

Emira and Edric kept insisting that Luz had a crush on her, but she was starting to no longer believe them.

Sure, she definitely saw the signs herself, with all the little gifts Luz would leave her, and the blushing mess she became whenever Amity was near, nevertheless when she touched her, but…

Could those just be coincidences?

Or just Luz being the weird, quirky, generous girl she was?

She started collecting her stuff, but quickly realised that in Luz’s hurry to get away, she had left her things strewn about their spot at the top of the hill.

Well, this’ll give me an excuse to visit her house. Amity thought, but, as she spied a folded piece of paper sticking out of Luz’s bag, she couldn’t help but grab it, wondering what would be inside it. I mean, if it’s something embarrassing, I could always just pretend I never read it. There’s no one here to rat me out, anyways.

Amity opened the note, and, as her eyes flitted across the paper, reading and rereading the contents, a small smile appeared across Amity’s face, and, instead of putting it back into Luz’s bag where it belonged, she pocketed it.
