Work Text:
When Flip had finally signaled their lunch break, Bojack instantly rushed to his trailer, ignoring the staff members' odd stares. He staggered so fast he nearly tripped on the stairs, earning a couple more confused looks.
However, Bojack couldn't worry about that now.
Shit he thought as he bent down dizzyingly in front of the toilet. Why'd they start filming so early today? Can't a man drink before his work hours anymore? Back in the day - a pang of nausea hit him, stopping his train of thought. No, you stupid asshole, this is your fault. He shook his head More like Diane's fault, though, if she hadn't cut me off I wouldn't have - another pang of nausea - this time teaming up with a headache - reminded him that he should put most of his mental effort into getting this over with. As it turned out, spilling one's guts out took a lot of energy.
He sat in front of the bowl, gripping it for dear life. You'd think by now he'd be used to being in that state, but it still hit him hard. Hard enough to leave him panting.
After the awful retching sounds were over - which felt like years - he realized just how quiet his small trailer toilet was. And dark, too. He hadn't even attempted to turn on the lights. His thought hurricane stopped for once, making the silence all the more prominent. It felt comforting. He could stay there forever. He wouldn't have to do anything. Here he was removed from the freefall that his life seemed to be. Here-
How fucked up was that? What was he even thinking? He was Bojack goddamn Horseman. He didn't do things like pitifully hide from the outside world in a bathroom. He wasn't hiding, he was simply tired. He'd just stay a few minutes more. Not because he was hiding, though, it was normal behavior for a drunk. Yeah, that's right, you're drunk. You couldn't even stay sober for this gig even if your life depended on it.
Suddenly, he heard a knock, dragged from his thoughts yet again. He even had half a mind to be thankful before he heard Princess Carolyn's voice on the other side "are you serious, Bojack? Please tell me you're not hungover." And a muffled sigh on the other side. "You better come out right now, they're looking for you on set."
Suddenly, he felt nauseous again.
