"GAME SET! Team B wins against Team A with 2 sets over 3!" the referee whistled, the teams letting out sighs and cheers. Lining up between the net, both teams congratulated one another for the game well done.
The practice match between members of the Japan National Team and members from the Argentina National Team was planned when Oikawa announced that he'll be staying in Japan for a while before going back to Argentina. Some of his team mates decided to stay with him too, wanting to explore where their Toto grew. Their captain and coach agreed with the plan, only a little bit saddened that they couldn't stay on their little trip, since they needed to be back in Argentina.
As such, the Argentina team needed more players for the practice match. Since some of the Aoba Johsai's alumni were attending the match, Oikawa managed to pull them to play. It only took one pout and lots of whining from their old captain to convince them to participate.
When they finished congratulating each other, Oikawa approached Kageyama and Hinata, who were chatting with Kindaichi, Kunimi, and Iwaizumi near the stands.
“It’s too bad you guys didn’t get to join the games! Next time though!” Oikawa heard Hinata say, Kindaichi nodding in agreement,
“Yeah, the class today was sudden. I thought we didn’t have one as announced,” he sighed. Iwaizumi reassured him, telling the younger man that there are always next times.
“How about you, Kunimi?” Kageyama asked.
“Overtime. Our prof really wanted to finish his lesson today,” Making Kunimi nod. After that, Oikawa reached them, greeting them with a wave and a grin. They chattered for a while before they heard one of Oikawa’s teammates call out to him.
"Toto! Let's go! We still have many places to go through," a member from Oikawa's team yelled in Argentinian. Other members were also chattering among them.
"Yes, yes! Be right there!" Oikawa replied in Argentinian before turning back to his Japanese friends.
"I'll see you guys later at the izakaya!" He waved to Kindaichi and Kunimi in the seats before ruffling both Hinata and Kageyama's hair. Hinata practically buzzed with excitement as Kageyama nodded, a light blush appearing in his face. Even with years of experience of not only Oikawa but also of his other seniors' way of showing affection, Kageyama couldn't help but still feel tingly inside.
"Smile, Iwa-chan! Wouldn't wanna look older than you already look like!" Oikawa yelled out while running to his team, cackling.
"You-" Iwaizumi just said before sighing, tousling his hair before turning around seeing their juniors talking with one another with enthusiasm.
"He still kind of babies you guys, huh?" Iwaizumi huffed out, all in good nature. All of them turned to Iwaizumi, Hinata being the first one to speak and very proudly at that.,
"Of course!" The others followed his steps.
"I'm his favourite after all!" All of them said at the same time, one grinning, one shyly, and the other two quietly, before looking at each other.
A beat of silence came, Iwaizumi planning to speak before it all went down.
"Wha-" Kageyama started, before getting beaten to it by Kindaichi and then Kunimi. Hinata joined the fray only after a second, and then all of them started putting their stories out to prove that Oikawa's favourite junior is them, creating maximum chaos in the short amount of time.
'Well. Down it goes.' Iwaizumi sighed in his thoughts.
