Mr. Hanzo

Hanzo, but as your local highschool biology teacher.

Notes:

I looked at Hanzo's tutor skin n suddenly I'm 1k words deep

Chapter Text

Hanzo is not a tardy man.

That's what he thinks when he hits the snooze button on his phone for the third time this morning.

Wait, third time?

Hanzo immediately sat upright from the warmth and comfort of his bed.

"Fuck, I'm late for class." He mumbled, eyes widened as he looked at the time on his phone. 7:30.

Then, he realized he graduated highschool seven years ago. Welp, he sighed in relief and lay his head back down.

Five seconds later...

"Oh, fuck, I'm a teacher!"

This time, Hanzo stumbled out of bed into the bathroom. After doing his morning routine in record time, he grabbed his glasses and mask before wasting no time running out his apartment.

Thankfully, the highschool he teaches at is nearby. Which is unfortunately why Hanzo doesn't have any form of transportation other than his legs. Today, instead of walking, he ran. And oh, he ran fast. Hopefully none of his students see him. They don't need to know that their biology teacher only survived highschool and college through sport scholarships.

On days like this, fate likes to mess with him. Hanzo turned a corner, and boom, his face planted on the back of a brick wall. Said brick wall is actually a police officer by the name of Johnson. Hanzo internally groaned.

"Good morning, Mr. Hanzo!" Officer Johnson turned around and greeted him cheerfully. Well, as cheerfully as a seven feet tall tank of man can get. "How are you–"

"Yes, yes, good morning to you, too, I need to go–"

"Hanzo! You didn't come for your coffee this morning!" Across the street, a lovely lady in light blue dress called out to him, in her hand held a cup of hot Expresso.

"Be there in a sec!" Hanzo shouted back before he continued reasoning with Johnson. "Bye, officer!"

He hopped away from the police and cross the street. It's a red light, but then a car sped by, right in front of him. Hanzo cursed internally, and in the heat of the moment, he slided across the hood of the high-end sport car, no longer caring about who the drivers are.

Then, he took his coffee from Aurora and continued his hasty journey to Moniyan High, the high school he teaches at.

Meanwhile, inside the car, two people looked at him, their eyes widened.

"Holy shit, that's Mr. Hanzo!" Alucard snapped.

"Oh fuck." Granger mumbled.

"Hey, people are late once in a while, buddy." Alucard chuckled, and proceeded to adjust his tie. "But damn, that was so cool! I almost ran him over, but still."

Granger took in a deep breath. "It's Monday. We have biology first hour."

"Ah, shit."

Alucard stepped on it, hoping that Officer Johnson doesn't see him speeding. Well, speeding to get to class on time is acceptable, right?

-----

The bell rings, and Hanzo opened the door to his first class of the day.

Students scrambled to their seats, and they greeted him with a chorus of "Good morning, Mr. Hanzo."

Hanzo scanned the seats, and as expected, a few students are late. Just as he's about to walk to his desk, the door behind him was forcefully pushed opened, making him jump away from to avoid the impact.

"Ah, shit! Mr. Hanzo! Hahaha, sorry for almost hitting you again!" Alucard chuckled nervously, and behind him stood Granger. Both of their hairs are a mess, and they're sweating from running. Hanzo is sure he himself doesn't look any better.

And Alucard is apologizing for almost hitting him again? Oh, right the car.

Hanzo just narrowed his eyes behind his glasses and walked to his desk. The two teenagers quickly skipped to their respective seats.

First thing first, attendence. Hanzo pulled a sheet of paper out of his folder. His eyes scanned the classroom one more time as his finger spins his pen.

"Alucard?"

"Yes, sir!" The teen boy responded, smile as bright as the sun, yet Hanzo can still sense nervousness radiates off him. "Um... Do I count as late?"

Hanzo lifted a single eyebrow in question. "Now that you mentioned it..."

"Ah, sorry, Mr. Hanzo! Please, please don't mark us as late! Won't happen ever again!" Alucard reasoned. "We're not even a minute late."

"After the bell rings, you're late." Hanzo responded, and oh, he enjoys watching the teen boy's face paled, along with his best friend Granger, who's usual the emo one, also paled.

"But..." Hanzo twilled his pen. "I'll let you off this once."

Because I woke up late too, was left unsaid.

"Thank you, sir!" Once again, Alucard is all sunshine and rainbows. Hanzo isn't sure how the big bundle of sunshine like Alucard could be friends with anyone like Granger. One is wide and tall and blonde with blue eyes and all, while the other is well, Granger, emo and black hair with a streak of white highlight. Even in personality, they're almost completely opposite, but the universe works in mysterious ways, and Hanzo bet they're into each other. If they really are, Rafeala owes him lunch. If their relationship goes public, Principle Tigreal will pay him lunch, too.

Also, Granger reminds him of when he was his age, but Hanzo remembered himself being more into sports than music.

Hanzo internally smiled and went on to the next student.

"Angela?"

"Yes, sir!" The girl in front of his desk responded. She looks young for a third year highschool student, but Hanzo knows age doesn't matter as long as they pass his class.

"Benedetta? Brody?"

"Yes." Benedetta answered and promptly smacked her seatmate out of his nap.

Brody has a tendency to doze off early in the morning, Hanzo made a mental note to talk to him about it later.

"Chou?"

"... Yeah." Chou is another student who frequently nap in class. And from talking to other teachers, Hanzo gathered that Chou doesn't just nap in his class, but in most other classes as well.

"Granger?"

"Yes." Granger is no longer pale, now that Hanzo decided to not mark them as late.

"Hanabi?"

A girl seated next to a window lifted her hand up, and Hanzo nodded in acknowledgment. She's not much of a talker, but her perfect grades make up for her low class participation scores.

"Hayabusa?"

"Yes, sir." A boy Hanzo is pretty sure Hanabi has a crush on answered from his seat next to Chou.

However, it's not a secret Hayabusa has a crush on another girl in this class.

"Kagura?"

"Here, sir!" With glittering eyes and soft voice, Kagura never failed to amaze Hanzo on the fact that how can anyone be this energetic in the morning.

Anyways, rumors circulate in the tecaher's break room that there's a love triangle between Hanabi, Hayabusa and Kagura. Hanzo will definitely put them into a group for their next assignment.

"Karina?"

The girl mentioned peaked up from her book from the back of the class, and shyly, she raised her voice. "Here."

"Lancelot?"

Hanzo glaced to the empty seat behind Chou, and he shrugged.

"Layla?"

"Yes, sir!" The blonde girl with twin ponytails raised her hand. She's one of his better students, brilliant in idea and truly impractical when it comes to anything else.

"Masha?"

The muscular girl yawned and raised her hand. That's good enough.

"Miya?"

"Yes, sir." The girl squeaked from her seat next to Angela.

"Saber?"

"Yes, sir!" The boy next to Karina replied. Hanzo thinks he's one of the normal ones, no problems with his grades and no problems with his attitude either. But oh boy, Hanzo does pity him for having that name.

"Valentina?" He called out for the last student. She's the newest one, just transferred from another highschool.

"Yes." Valentina flipped her hair after she answered.

"Good." Hanzo sent down his attendance sheet and swiftly pulled out his text book from his bag. "Now turn to page 112. I was generous to not give you a homework last week. Now, time to outline your assignment for this semester."

The rest of the class groaned.
