Chapter Text
"Rumour has it that a new group of villains has attacked the first years of UA with the intent to kill All Might."
It was an intriguing rumour. It was the perfect excuse for 'Rumour', an underground informant who has been alive for longer than he should, to bother the commission. He knew things they shouldn't know, but he has knowledge, experience and on top of it a rather complicated immortality quirk.
Rumour himself was to this day confused by his quirk. It didn't allow them to get physically hurt, he did many things to try that out. Drowning, suffocating, being shot, being stabbed even if half of those things weren't by his own will it still was an interesting experience to him. Their final test was old age, after he turned 20 it just kinda stuck. It was around that time he decided that if he's gonna be stuck in this mortal vessel for all eternity might as well try their best to extend the time he spends on earth.
Their first act as the immortal, mentally ill Gen Z kid he was? Rise a rebellion for rights for the quirked population and get governments to deal with climate change. I mean who wouldn't love to start a rebellion? Following the next 100 years it was a big back and forth until it finally stopped on the 21st of February 2121. It was a complicated story: the rights for the quirked population were already in place for over 50 years. But one of their 'acquaintances' had gone a rather violent way causing a fall out.
Following the fall out Rumour left the underground and led a peaceful life. They had a family, it was an unintentional secret of the family that Izuku was immortal. They knew, anyone who joined the Midoriya Family knew. They kept in contact, it just didn't seem necessary to mention to friends. You don't exactly tell everyone that your great great great grandfather is immortal and comes around every 10 years.

Izuku was bored, because of this boredom he returned to the underground and started gathering information. He didn't gather information on anything specific, just everything they could get his hands on. But then he got bored again, so he opened his own café called 'Coffee Cat' and a small bar, called 'The Eternal Garden', so his job as an informant could become easier, people talked a lot when they were drunk. The café was an old dream of one of his friends. They had almost forgotten about it but a certain quirk taking and giving bastard gave Izuku a memory quirk a few decades ago after accidentally meeting again, causing him to always be able to recall any memory, which was useful and annoying at the same time. Izuku chuckled, "God those idiots would have loved this place" he thought to himself. They probably would've, their friends had a tendency to like cats, no one knew if it was caused by the ridiculous cat memes they had always sent each other or the adorable cat videos the internet had.

Izuku was still running his cat café but he occasionally was bored and committed a crime or two. Nothing big, just petty theft mostly for oversized hoodies, even after roughly 2000 years they still gave them a weird sense of comfort. While running from the police, who were honestly sick of him by now, he jumped into an empty dumpster. To his surprise a woman with white hair, who was seemingly hiding behind the dumpster, suddenly looked inside the dumpster. "Young man are you alright there?"
He looked at her and she looked at him in silence until he noticed 4 children with the women. They noticed the scars and injuries on the children and he felt the sudden urge to cause another rebellion. The past few years didn't look good for society, the only ones who noticed that were probably the traumatized ones. I mean of course it's the traumatized ones.
"You're… Let me think. Rei, Rei Himura? Todoroki? The family of the flaming dumpster fire of a hero. God what was that bastard's name. Uhhh Endeavour! Endeavour, right. Runaways if I see correctly. Probably from abuse looking at the state of you and your children." Even with that god forsaken memory quirk, his brain did eventually start suppressing memories for the sake of not overwhelming his brain with unnecessary information, like random names he heard. He smiled at Rei who only nodded while he was mumbling and thought about what to do with them now. To be honest there really was only one answer, to leave someone alone with 4 children on the streets was pretty shitty and returning them to their abuser was a dick move, he sighed time to be a good human being Izuku keep yourself together. "I'll help you and the kiddos out alright? Would be a dick move to leave you 5 here on the streets." The older kiddos, maybe around 10, understandably looked at Izuku with distrust. The other two kiddies seemed to be happy, they were probably happy about not living on the streets anymore and Rei? Rei was surprised.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah I just need to clear stuff up with the police and hero commission"
Rei and the kids froze. Ah wording Izuku, it sounds like you're gonna return them.
"For my own stuff, I have a complicated history with the police and hero commission. I won't let them bring you back that asshole, only over my cold dead body."
He probably said that a bit too confidentiality but they relaxed. Izuku gave them his keys to the café and apartments over it and explained the safest and most hidden way to get there before he went to the next police station.
"Midoriya-san, you can't keep doing this. Please just stop, don't you have your café?"
"Fine I'll stop, but only under certain conditions."
Everyone within hearing range turned around because Izuku Midoriya, the immortal who had been giving the police and hero commission trouble for the past 300 years is about to stop. They had to agree to certain conditions but it probably wouldn't be anything dramatic they hoped.
"Accept this binder with information, open an investigation against Endeavour for abuse and get some Hero commission representative here."
They worked quickly, losing a hero with an abnormal amount of casualties with villains and civilians to stop a monster that knew so much he could probably overthrow the government by himself, even if he probably found a rebellion more effective, was more than an easy choice.
The Hero Public Safety Commission was hesitant but changed their mind the moment Izuku mentioned two particular heroes, it was easy to forget but Izuku knew things even some in the commission didn't and the commission didn't exactly want people to know about their projects.
Hours later Izuku returned to his beloved café in which Rei and the kids seemingly fell asleep. Izuku carried them up to one of the apartments over the café and let them sleep. After all, he had to finish threatening a certain flaming trash bag.

Aizawa was tired, even more than usual. Just yesterday he had to deal with a group of villains called 'The League of Villains' who attacked his class at the USJ and now he was going to meet an informant for information about this group. The place of the meeting was a bar which has been rather popular in the underground for its drinks and being a known neutral ground. Aizawa was rather surprised how close it was to one of his favourite cat cafés and he had a feeling that they were somehow connected.
He entered the establishment and noticed his informant who was playfully waving towards him and sat down in the booth the informant was sitting in. "Are you Rumour?" He asked and Rumour just nodded.
"So I’m assuming that you have the information I requested?”
“Of course I do, Eraserhead. Although it's gonna cost you quite a bit."
"I see, can I ask what made it that difficult?"
"Well first off: those morons broke into UA so they are bound to have some kind of backing, second off I actually know one of the people behind it, so I'm gonna need some extra cash for selling out an old acquaintance and third off I had to hack into the UA security cameras, the Police Departments digital archive and the Quirk Registration. Those are 2 government facilities and one of the supposedly most secure places in the world."
Aizawa stared at his informant. This guy hacked into the computers of 2 government facilities and somehow into Nedzu's cameras. He was gonna have to tell Nedzu to make the security system of UA more secure, it would be dangerous if any villains found a hacker as skillful as this one.
"I see. How much do you need?"
"I don't need that kind of payment. I want a favour from you, just in case things get…"
Rumour stopped talking and stared into Aizawa's eyes for a few seconds.
"Ugly."
They finished. AIzawa thought about the offer, it was easy but what kind of favour could Rumour even need? It was risky, he wasn't sure if it was completely worth owing a favour to Rumour but he wasn't about to lose the potentially only lead of information about the villains who attacked his kids.
"Alright."
Rumour seemed to smile, although it was hard to tell with the mask.
"Pleasure to do business. Here is the binder with all the information you requested. I couldn't find much about the misty guy, but I added some suspicions I have to the notes."
Aizawa nodded and took the binder before Rumour warned him.
"You might wanna tell your police friend that the enemy of his walking national secret isn't quite gone yet. Oh and also tell him to send him my regards, probably should've checked in with him a few times."
Aizawa was confused but he didn't have the energy to interrogate Detective Tsukauchi about who this walking national secret is so he simply returned home. He can deal with all the paperwork and Tsukauchi when he wakes up but for now he needs sleep and cuddles from his husband.
