Good god where do I start with this piece? There is so much to point out, so I guess I can start with Link, himself.
Holy hecking heck Shiqa, the way you drew Link in this just has me swooning so much. His anatomy is incredible, especially the hands, gosh I’m a sucker for well drawn hands. The gloves give it such a nice touch, too!! His eyes are so enticing and drawing, so bold and out there, don't mind my puns but there is such a huge aspect of courage in them and it’s so drawing to the eye. His hair and the texture and how you drew it just, give it more. There’s so much depth to it and all because of how you shade and light the bits and pieces. It is so stunning in such a majestic yet simple way? I can’t really explain the word but it’s, it’s simply gorgeous.
I want to move onto his outfit, and if I’m not mistaken that looks like the royal guard’s outfit from BOTW. The royal blue and red go so well with his entire aesthetic of a guard/knight. Especially with how you drew him gripping the broadsword? The symmetry on that?? Hun you have my full respect for drawing blades that well. And how his scarf drapes over his shoulder and around his neck has me perishing in such a positive way, I don’t think you would understand how calming of a feel this piece brings me. It’s stunning how you fit his knightly vibe with the royal guard’s outfit, and just, the stance he’s taking on melts my heart into a puddle.
Next thing is the colour palette you chose for this piece. I cannot begin to tell you how calming these colours bring me every time I come to look at this piece and love and adore it. The royal blue you used is definitely bold in a sense, but it’s not eyestraining when you look at the piece, it’s calming in a sense, toned down, quiet. That goes for the red as well, it pops out but it’s such a soft pop that it’s almost like it’s integrated with the soft salmony/grey pink-orange of the background. The golden hints and designs just add the little sparkle to the piece with just how soft it is. I can’t stop admiring the soft vibe you gave him. This also goes for the flowers you put around Link. Their design is impeccable, immaculate. The leaves are so crisp and fresh looking and the flowers are so soft from what the eye sees. And don’t even get me started on the shading and lighting. It looks like sunlight is coming through a bunch of leaves on him and it’s absolutely stunning??? This man’s beauty is definitely something else and you just add onto it with how you drew this entire piece.
I’m really proud of how it turned out and really want you to know that you did incredible on this piece. If there was a vibe I could give it, it would be soft summer afternoons that you can sleep in. Pretty odd, but I promise it’s a good thing. But yeah! This was really well done Shiqa! I’m quite impressed by the work and effort you put into this!! <3
