Chapter Text
It was the same thing everyday. Katsuki would wake up at five am, turning off his alarm that he didn't really need and wasn't really meant for him anyway, and go to the bathroom. He'd poke his head out while brushing his teeth to see his husband still asleep in the bed.
Katsuki would roll his eyes as the second alarm, that went off five minutes later, was smacked and turned off by the sleepy man in the bed. Someday, Katsuki says, someday he'll get up to the second alarm but… today was not that day.
Shoto buried his head back into the pillows and pulled the blanket up over his body. Katsuki spit his toothpaste out, rinsed his mouth and then stalked back over to the bed.
Just like every morning he ripped the blanket off of Shoto's body and poked at his stomach until Shoto was smacking his hand away.
"Get up halfie!" Katsuki would order as Shoto sat up in the bed to avoid being poked further. His eyes narrow in a sleepy daze but an easy smile on his face.
"I'm up, I'm up!" he'd laugh, catching hold of one of Katsuki's hand and kiss it gently. "Good Morning Katsuki," he'd say sweetly, going to kiss his husband on the lips only to have three fingers meet his path.
"Not before you brush your teeth." Katsuki said, pushing Shoto back who kissed his fingers any way.
"Bring it to me?" He'd ask… just like normal.
And just like normal, "lazy ass," Katsuki would grumble but go to the bathroom and bring it back to him anyway.
Shoto would brush his teeth, sitting with his legs crossed on the bed as Katsuki dressed.
Their patrol wasn't until nine but Katsuki hated wasting time- Shoto got used to the schedule eventually. At least he'd say he did… Katsuki might argue.
When Katsuki dressed in running sweats and a hoodie, he'd kiss the top of Shoto's head and leave the room.
Their house was modest; both of them having grown up in large houses they decided a smaller one was more fitting for them. Big houses seemed so lonely with all the empty space being unused.
Katsuki busied himself in the kitchen, putting on a pot of coffee and starting on their breakfast, steamed rice and fried eggs, sometimes with Soba if Katsuki was feeling nice (which was often)
Fifteen minutes later when Shoto was done getting dressed and he packed their bags for the day he'd go out to the kitchen to met Katsuki.
He'd come up behind him as he work on their eggs, wrap his arms his chest and pressed a kiss to the side of his neck.
"It smells good." He mused.
"You say that everyday." Katsuki retorted, rolling his eyes but he leaned back into Shoto, letting his head rest on Shoto's shoulder.
"Must be because my husband's such a good cook." Shoto said, smiling and leaning down so he could, finally, kiss Katsuki on the lips which Katsuki would meet eagerly.
There was nothing he hated more than morning breath and yet Shoto still tried each morning to kiss him before he got rid of it.
"Sap."
"For you."
"Hm."
The same everyday.
"Did you sleep well, love?" Shoto asked, sliding his hands down to Katsuki waist.
"Mhm, and you?" Katsuki asked in return, taking the eggs off the heat and checking the timer for the rice.
Five minutes left. Katsuki wiggled out of Shoto's grasp and grabbed two mugs from a cabinet only for Shoto to snag them from him and walk over the finished pot of coffee.
"As good as always." He said, pouring two steaming cups, dropping two sugars into Katsuki's before getting cream from the fridge for his.
Katsuki 'tsked' at the sugary creamer but said nothing else. Shoto only chuckled. Always the same.
"Thanks babe." Katsuki said as Shoto handed him his cup before placing his own on the counter and wrapping his arm back around Katsuki's neck.
He put his head on the blonde's shoulder and closed his eyes.
"Mhm," he hummed.
"You better not fall back asleep on me again halfie." Katsuki warned.
"Mm I love you Katsuki." He'd say, relishing in the warmth in Katsuki's body.
"Drink." Katsuki said, handing him his cup of coffee after tasting it once, "too sweet." He muttered before putting it in Shoto's hands.
Shoto took it and sipped from the liquid caffeine after detaching. He grabbed plates from another cabinet and set them next to the stove.
Katsuki would look at him then, a small smile on his face. "I love you Sho." He'd say because he knew it'd wake up his husband if not only a little more. And maybe he meant it too.
It was five thirty by the time all the food was done and the two men were sitting down at the counter to eat.
"Thanks for the food Katsuki." Shoto would say every day without fail. Katsuki would simply give him and smile and peck on the cheek.
"You going to keep up with me today?" he asked, turning back to his food.
"When do I not?" Shoto asked in return, kicking Katsuki's leg gently.
"When you almost fall asleep on the way back!" the blonde laughed, taking a sip from his coffee to wash down the rice. "Hey Sho-" Katsuki started but Shoto was already on his feet grabbing another cup from the cabinet.
"I got it." He said, filling it with room temperature water.
The same as usual. He placed it in front of Katsuki as he sat back down in his seat looking at his husband expectantly.
Katsuki rolled his eyes and kissed Shoto's lips almost about to pull away before Shoto drew him in closer, deepening the kiss.
"Too sweet," Katsuki muttered when Shoto pulled away with a brilliant smile.
"Ah! He does love me!" Shoto exclaimed dramatically. Katsuki narrowed his eyes but the pink on his cheeks damped the glare.
"Wouldn't have proposed to you if I didn't love you dumbass." He grumbled. Shoto scooted closer to him, pressing their legs together- anything for a little more contact.
"How far are we going?" he asked, finishing his coffee and stealing a sip from Katsuki's water.
The blonde didn't bother to stop him. It was the same everyday.
"When's our next day off?" Katsuki asked, knowing Shoto knew the rest days better than he did.
"Saturday and then Thursday." He replied without having to think about it for more than a second.
"Lazy ass," Katsuki muttered, "three miles." He said.
It was five forty-five when Shoto took their plates and brought them to the sink. He plugged the bottom of it, poured a slight amount of dish soap and ran the hot water until it filled a quarter of the sink.
He washed their dishes as Katsuki stood next to him, resting his head on Shoto's back.
"We're going grocery shopping Saturday." Katsuki said, wrapping his arms around Shoto's waist and pressing close to them.
"Okay, love." Shoto replied, scrubbing softly at the plate before placing it in the dish-drainer.
"You still tired?" Katsuki asked, it was about that time.
"Not much." Shoto replied, that caffeine finally hitting him. "Ready to run." He said.
"Me too." Katsuki said, pressing a kiss to Shoto's back. "You'll want a jacket- it's cold out."
"I have one hanging by the door."
"Good."
Shoto put the last of their dishes away to dry before turning and taking Katsuki into his arm entirely. They stood their like that for many minutes, breathing even and steady. There was no rush.
That was why Katsuki liked it like this- they had more time for each other.
"Ready?" Shoto murmured, not quite ready to pull away yet. They'd be married for two years but none of it got old.
"In a minute." Katsuki replied just as quietly, savoring the calm moment before the rush of their run would hit. "Love you halfie." Katsuki mumbled, running his hand down into Shoto's hand locking their fingers together.
"I love you." Shoto replied, he always did.
At six they left for their run.
Twenty minutes passed as the two men finished running and found their way back to their home. The sun started coming up, casting pinks and oranges across the sky.
The house was bright as the rising sun streamed through their windows. Immediately they went into their room and took off the sweaty clothes.
"I'll start the shower," Katsuki said as he handed Shoto his dirty clothes, "toss those in the wash."
Shoto nodded but before letting Katsuki go he pressed a kiss to his lips softly. Katsuki smacked Shoto's ass as he turned to leave.
Five minutes later Shoto found his way back to the bathroom and stepped into the large shower next to Katsuki. The water was warm as it pattered down on them.
Shoto grabbed Katsuki's waist from the back.
"You didn't wait for me." He grumbled, muscles relaxing under the warmth.
Katsuki turned around, "you take too damn long."
"Mean Katsuki."
"Com'ere" Katsuki muttered, pulling him close, the soap already on Katsuki's body transfered onto Shoto's as they kissed- bodies pressed against each other.
Katsuki flinched against the cold tile as his back his it. Shoto warmed it with his quirk as he lifted Katsuki up.
Shoto pulled away from another kiss and looked intently into Katsuki's eyes.
"Too mean." He muttered before connecting their lips again. Katsuki sighed into his husbands lips as he pressed into him.
It was the every day.
Shoto made love to Katsuki in the shower, thrusting into him slowly and showering him in praise and admiration before washing out his hair and scrubbing both their bodies down. Their soap smelled like lavender and lemons.
They were wrapped in fluffy towels by six forty-five and nearly inseparable. The only thing that would get either of them to stop clinging to the other was a villain attack.
Shoto walked from the bathroom, still wrapped in a towel and hand-in-hand with Katsuki. He grabbed the sweatpants he laid out earlier and handed Katsuki's his before tugging on his own.
"Can you hang these up?" he asked Katsuki who protested slightly at the idea of leaving Shoto. It made him chuckle. "I'm not going anywhere." He promised.
Katsuki snatched the towel from Shoto's hand and went to the bathroom to hang them back up to dry.
Shoto took the opportunity to get back into bed, sliding under the cover just as Katsuki came back.
"Fucking knew it." He cursed but instead of pestering him to get up, Katsuki climbed back into bed with him and curled up next to his husband.
"Twenty minutes." Shoto said, almost a promise that he wouldn't stay in bed longer.
Five minutes late Shoto was asleep, clutching Katsuki tight to him and he didn't have the heart to wake him up.
Forty minutes later Katsuki shook Shoto softly, earning a small groan.
"Babe, you gotta get up now." He said, impossibly soft. Shoto groaned again but opened his eyes. He smiled a sleepy smile as Katsuki kissed him.
"Katsuki's the best." Shoto mumbled, kissing him again. It was eight fifteen.
"Don't you know it." Katsuki replied, receiving a smile that he fell in love with. "Come on, let get ready, we leave in twenty."
"Can't wait for Saturday." Shoto mumbled, hugging Katsuki close before letting him go.
"You think I'm going to let you sleep all day then?" Katsuki prodded, sliding off the bed.
Shoto shook his head. "No, but more time to love on Katsuki." He said, and then with a smirk, "and in Katsuki."
"Bastard." Katsuki muttered but the pink on his cheeks wouldn't fool anyone.
Shoto tugged on his hero uniform as Katsuki did and by eight thirty-five they were leaving their home to patrol. As they pulled up to the office at eight fifty, Shoto looked over to the passenger seat and found Katsuki looking at him.
Shoto reached his hand over and found Katsuki's, his brushed his thumb over the golden band on the blonde's finger.
"I love you Katsuki." He said, putting the car in park. He leaned over and kissed him gently but still passionately before breaking away.
"Yeah, yeah," Katsuki said, opening the car door and sliding out. He met Shoto in front of the car and grabbed onto his hand, "I love you too halfie."
Same as always.
