Work Text:
A Post regeneration eleventh Doctor, rushes into a department store to find the perfect accompaniment to his new look. He wasn’t satisfied with anything in the TARDIS. As he stood in front of a full length mirror holding up two different patterned ties, he felt a tap on his shoulder.
“Why don’t you try this? I think you’d rock the bow tie.”
Making sure to even out his breathing and not have a full blow breakdown with Rose Tyler standing not even a foot away from him. He nods and reaches for it. Securing it around his neck and feeling very pleased with the result.
“Why a bow tie?” He asks.
“Normally I’d find them to be completely hideous.” She says honestly. “But on you, they look pretty cool.” She gives him a grin, her tongue between her teeth.
“TYLER!” The store manager calls.
“That’s me, I better be going.” And she walks away.
He watches her, his hearts hammering, pleading silently for her to come back. He watches her for a minute too long before quickly paying for the bow tie. He heads for the door and notices the arm of a mannequin move the tiniest bit, stepping out onto the busy street, a bittersweet smile graces his face as he spots a tall broken man in leather with big ears rush inside.
