Chapter 1: 54. Why’s there a pregnancy test on the trash?

Chapter Text

“Angie! Will you please hurry? We’re gonna be late!”

Vilu screamed once more for her aunt to hear her and looked at her watch. They were really late, and yeah, she could have left without her, but she would really like to have some time to talk to her. Angie had been acting so weird all week long… Violetta was starting to get worried, and as Angie wouldn’t speak to her any other way, Vilu figured her beautiful aunt would have no other option while driving them to the studio.

“Coming! Could you please grab my phone? It’s in my room. I would do it myself, but I can’t find MY music sheets in YOUR room.”

Vilu chuckled a little and without answering she went to Angie’s room. It was pretty… Messy, Something a bit weird if she really thought of it, but Vilu brushed it off, thinking Olga shouldn’t have cleaned it recently.

Violetta searched for it on Angie’s desk, her night tables, but the small device was nowhere to be found. She decided to dial her number to hear the ring tone and finally locate it and it worked. She could hear it over Angie’s bed. She stirred the blankets to find her aunts phone quicker, but that didn’t work so well, it ended up falling and Vilu cursed herself in silence as she kneeled beside the bed to pick it up. As she was about to get back up, a white stick with a blue cap caught her attention, there was no need to pick it up, she knew exactly what it was, she had seen it in movies, series, commercials…

“Vilu! I have the sheets, did you…?” Angie got into the room and laughed a little. “Violetta what are you doing there? Do you think I keep my phone on the floor? I’m clumsy, but…” When their eyes met Angie went silent. She could see it on her gaze, she knew.

“Angie… Why’s there a pregnancy test on the trash?” Angie went static, millions of thoughts and feelings were covering her up. How could she have been so stupid?! She was barely breathing, but she have to keep it together.

“Because the result is wrong. It has to be…” She mumbled the last sentence and took a seat on the edge of the bed covering her eyes with her hands, trying to think of something, but she knew there was no way to get out of reality.

“Wait… What result? How…?” Vilu had had no time to think that through. She knew what it meant, but she hadn’t analyzed it yet. She couldn’t believe it. “Oh my God! Angie that’s amazing!” She was genuinely happy about it, but her excitement was easily cut.

“No, Violetta. It is not! Not for me, not for him, not now…” Her voice came out broken, she was trying really hard, but her hormones were definitely not helping.

“Who…?” She cut her words in the middle, she didn’t mean to imply that, she had no right to, she knew perfectly right Angie hadn’t been with her dad or anybody else since she broke up with Pablo. It had been really hard for her… It all came together as if it was a puzzle. She suddenly understood. “Oh my God, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean that.” She could hear Angie’s soft whimpers and her soul shattered at the noise. She knew nothing better than to hug her. What could she say? She had nothing to make her feel better. As she shivered under her embrace Vilu knew how scared she should be, how much pressure she should be feeling, it broke her heart. “I’m so sorry.” And she was, but she couldn’t do anything to help her, not really. Still, she tried. “It’s going to be okay. I promise.”

And Angie knew she was lying, she didn’t know that, she couldn’t keep that promise, but somehow it made her feel better. It would have been even better if Pablo was the one holding her, telling her she should be happy about it, that he was, but that wasn’t happening, and she couldn’t be so selfish to break everything he was accomplishing without her… She didn’t know what to think or feel, but for the moment all she could do was cry.
