Adrien’s POV
Adrien was sitting in his room thinking about the prom. It had been one month he had moved on from Ladybug and asked out Kagami. Kagami and he had pretty much everything in common. Starting from protective parents to fencing and socially awkwardness. They both have single parents. He let out a dreamy sigh. Plagg gagged. " Ugh! Seriously Adrien. You have been thinking about fencing girl since the morning. You even forgot to give me cheese." Adrien rolled his eyes. Of course. The only thing Plagg thinks of is camembert. He gave Plagg his camembert and he swallowed it in one go. " Ew! Plagg." " Hey, do you think I should take Kagami for a romantic dinner after prom? " Adrien asked his kwami who wasn't paying attention. " Yeah Yeah." Adrien was sure that Plagg didn't even know what he was talking about. He sighed. Plagg for the first time looked up from his cheese dream “ What’s Wrong Kid?” “ I need money. I only have some. But I doubt my father will give me some. The same can be said about Nathalie.” Plagg felt bad for his owner. He thought about what Tikki would do in this kind of situation. Plagg groaned. Tikki was always good at this stuff. And he knows that Tikki is also comforting her owner as he knew about pigtails crush on his owner. But he knew he had to do something now. Clearing his throat, “ You know kid, what do I do when I am depressed? “ Adrien scoffed. “ Yeah. Eat Camembert. “ “ No I sing about my favorite things.” “ Camembert! You’re the cheese of my dream! Camembert you make life better than it seems! Sugarcube! You’re the girl of my dreams! Sugarcube! You make life better than it seems!” Adrien had no choice to burst out laughing. It made Plagg feel good.
“ Plagg? Isn’t Sugarcube Ladybug’s Kwami, Tikki?” “ Yeah,” Plagg said in a daze.
“ You have a crush on Tikki?” “ Yea-No! What gave you that idea?” Plagg was blushing like crazy which made Adrien laugh harder. “ Thanks for cheering me up, Plagg.” “ Yeah don’t expect it too much. And for your information camembert is the only thing I like.” Adrien rolled his eyes. “ Yeah, keep telling yourself that.” Adrien’s face changed again. “ What happened, kid?” “ Plagg where will I get the money? I doubt my father will give it to me. ” “ What about that friend of yours?” Plagg asks. “ Chloe? She is too self-absorbed to help me on a date. Besides she doesn’t even like Kagami.” Plagg shook his head.
“ Not Chloe. Your bakery friend? I am sure she has enough. And with that, you will surely have the amount you need.” She gets money from the mayor sometimes for saving Paris. Plagg said in his head. “ I can’t do that Plagg. Marinette is my friend. I can’t just ask for money from her.” Plagg had to gag about how goody two shoes his owner was.
With Marinette
“ Everything is gonna be fine, Marinette. Trust me.” Tikki tried to comfort her owner who was depressed about not having a date. “ How Tikki? Adrien is going with Kagami, Alya is going with Nino. Most of my class has a date. Except me. Heck, even Chloe has a date.” “ Oh, Marinet- Ladybugs are supposed to have good luck.” Marinette kept muttering nonsense into her pillow which Tikki didn’t understand. “ I am sure you will have a date Marinette.” Marinette kept crying when Tikki had an idea. “ You know Marinette you can just ask Juleka’s brother. You know L-L-LU- Luka?” Marinette cut her kwami off. Tikki nodded. “ I am sure he likes you.” “ You’re right Tikki. But I am just boring me. How will I get him to notice me?” Tiki put on her best-thinking face which made Marinette giggle. Then she got an idea. “ I know. Why don’t you ask Adrien for help?” Marinette e.x.e stopped working. “ Uh, Marinette you ok?” Tikki was worried for her owner. “ A-A-Ask A-A-A-Adrien? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?” Tikki was shocked to see Marinette’s reaction. Mari sighed, “ I am sorry Tikki. It’s just that I am so upset that nothing is working out for me. I guess I will take your advice. I’ll ask Adrien to help me. It’s not like he likes me or anything.” She chokes at the last part. Tikki went and put her little arms around her owner’s cheeks.
Next-Day At School
Marinette, Alya, Nino, and Adrien were hanging out with Kagami. “ So, Kagami are you excited about the prom?” Alya asked. “ Yup,” Kagami put on her robotic smile. Adrien found it cute. “ So, wanna go dress shopping? We girls will stay at the women section and you boys can stay at the men section.” Kagami and Nino nodded. “What about you guys?” She turned to Adrien and Marinette. “ I don’t think my father will let me go.” He said in a sad tone. All three turned to Marinette, She had the same expression. “ I don’t have a date.” She mumbled. Adrien was gonna say something to comfort her when a big snigger interrupted him. “ Would you look at that Sabrina? Dupain-Cheng doesn’t have a date. Don’t blame them though. Who would take a clumsy nobody like her to prom anyway.” Alya was about to give her a piece of her mind when Marinette hold her back. “ Don’t. She’s not worth it.” Adrien could see her eyes getting glossy. He felt bad for his friend. Here he was excited for Prom while Marinette was sad that she didn’t have a date. Chloe and Sabrina kept laughing until Marinette had enough. “ STOP! At least I have someone in my mind unlike you who is going with her butler.” Marinette stormed out crying while everyone who heard her kept laughing at Chloe making her embarrassed. “ ( Huh! Serves her right) Adrien looked at Chloe with a glare and ran after Marinette.
Adrien saw Marinette crying in the park. He went in her direction
“ Marinette you okay?” Marinette looked up at him with red puffy eyes.
“ Ye-yeah. I am just upset that I don’t have a date. I have someone in my mind but he is soo out of my league. I don’t know how to make him notice me.” Adrien wanted to help his friend. “ Is there anything I can do to help you?” “ Well, I was talking to Tik- my cousin about my problem. And she said I could ask one of my friends to help me. And you were the first person that came to mind.” Adrien was touched that Marinette thought of him as one of her friends. But he can’t help but feel a pang in his heart. ( The tables are turned, baby!. HAHA) ”You want me to help you to impress this guy you have in your mind.” Mari nodded. “ The guy is Luka and yeah,” Adrien remembered his conversation with Plagg yesterday. Maybe I can take his advice. “ Hey Marinette can you do me a flavor.” She nodded. “ I need money for a fancy dinner date I want to have with Kagami. I have half and I doubt my father or Nathalie will give me some. So I was talking to Pla- my friend and he said that you can ask the closest friend of yours. Chloe is out of the question, Nino doesn’t have that much and the same can be said about Alya. So, I was thinking you could lend me some? “ So, you’re only helping me because you need some money and not because you actually wanna help me?” OH NO. This was not what I meant. “ NO! I am helping you because you’re my friend Marinette. And I don’t want to see any of my friends sad while I am happy.” Marinette smiled for the first time that day. “ Thanks, Adrien. And of course, I will kiss you. I mean give you some. Give you money of course. Nothing inappropriate I get enough money from the mayor for saving-I mean baking lots of delicious pastries” “ Oh. Can the ground please swallow me up so I don’t embarrass myself anymore?” Adrien heard Marinetrte mumble some incoherent. He could only smile at his friend’s cuteness.
