Work Text:
kaeya slowly turning into the monster that he was fated to be and begging diluc to kill him bc he cant seem to do it himself. begs and begs his brother bc he’d want to die by his hands, his final retribution. diluc can’t do it. at the end of the day, he’s still the same doe-eyed boy from a decade ago. and as stupid is it may be, a part of him still hoped things would go back to the way they were. when they were still kids listening to the fantasy stories their father told them, huddled by the fireplace. kaeya was all he had left, but he was destined to lose him too.
so as the darkness that slowly ate at kaeya was just mere moments away from exploding and destroying all of mondstadt, diluc, with a shaky hand, grabbed the rusty old sword, the same sword he finished his father’s suffering with, and held his agonized brother against his chest. He stabbed kaeya in the back, until it pierced through himself as well, killing both of them in the process. three ragnvindrs dead by the same blade.
“Now we can be like we use to be,” diluc thinks as the last bit of air escapes his lungs “the 3 of us, forever.”
