Work Text:

The sunlight seeped through the windows, illuminating the bodies on the mattress in an orange hue. Silver and brown locks turning a reddish tone contrasting to the cooler grey walls.

The two men were under a mass of blankets, Oikawa’s arms wrapped around Suga’s torso and their legs tangled together.

The brunette awoke first, turning his body and snuggling deeper into the pillow to linger onto the feeling of unconsciousness. He reached for his phone to check the time.

9:32 AM. A late morning for the two.

He turned back to face his other half who was still sleeping.

Oikawa decided that he might as well have some fun with this.

His perfectly manicured fingers traced the features of Sugawara’s face. Starting with his sharp jawline, continuing onto the subtle arch of his brows, ending with the upward slant of his nose.

Admiring his lover was one of Oikawa’s favorite things to do. Ever since the first time he laid eyes on him back in his second year of high school.

Oikawa had decided to wait for the bus in the rain and a boy with the brightest smile he had ever seen decided to share his umbrella with him. After some small talk, Oikawa managed to get the boy's number and soon realized that he was in fact a volleyball player like himself. Not pro level but skilled nonetheless. Eventually the late night talks turned into something more and the rest was history.

Oikawa was blessed, truly. Being able to do what he loves with someone he loves.

Love. What truly was love? Oikawa never had a moment where he realized he was in love. It was slow, creeping up on him as a fox does to a rabbit. Love came in crashes, in waves, and he was the sand dripping wet with it.

All of these thoughts lead to an inner debate.

Should he kiss his beloved awake?

It seems like something out of a bad romcom. If Iwaizumi found out he was contemplating this, he was bound to get bullied.

Actually, who cares what Iwaizumi would say?

Oikawa positions himself and leans into Sugawara’s face, stopping only a few centimeters away from his rose colored lips.

He can feel his face flushing red and covers his eyes, shielding him from the self imposed awkwardness.

This is embarrassing, he thinks, regretting his decision already.

That is, until he hears someone clearing their throat. That someone being Sugawara.

“You know, you don’t have to be that embarrassed. We are married after all. And if you won’t do it, I will.”

Oikawa barely has time to respond before he’s pulled into a kiss, soft lips meeting one another. The familiar taste of each other brings them both into sync.

Pure bliss. Those are the words that either would choose to describe this feeling.

Finally, when they stop to catch their breaths is when Oikawa spots Suga’s smirk.

Oikawa groans, leaning his head into his love’s shoulder.

“Why do you always tease me like this?”

“It’s fun,” Sugawara simply replies.

“For you maybe, but it’s painful for me!”

He laughs, stroking the brunette’s hair.

After a few moments, he speaks.

“Hey, Oikawa? Can you promise me one thing?”

“Of course, what is it?” he mumbles. His voice was muffled by Suga’s shirt.

“Don’t hesitate to kiss me ever again.”
