Work Text:
Mona always has been grateful to live under a warm roof. In those cold times when the sun is setting sooner, she enjoys those little daily things even more than usual. A cup of a hot cecilias infusion in hand, warming up her fingers, sipping it is enough to soothe away all her exhaustion from work. Leading herself into her bed and removing Dodoco's slippers Klee gave her, sinking herself in a wall of soft pillows and enjoying the view in front of her.
The back of her loved one, sitting by his desk, still writing even after coming back from work. Fiddling her feet against the silky texture of their blanket, humming some melodies, filling their room of scribbling sounds, pages turning, crackling of the firewood. The dimming light filtering her lover’s features, the platinum- almost white hair strands shine gold to the lamp’s lightning. Her fingers twitch from wanting to fidget with his hairs, she needed to feel his warmth.
A slight pout appears on her face, she clearly made herself loud to make him knows that she's in bed, waiting for him to join her very soon. The lack of his attention makes her sigh.
“Aaaaah.... When will my husband will finally join me to bed ?”
The scribbling sounds stopped, letting a blank silence for a few seconds. The alchemist stopped writing, turning his back to Mona, the crackling sound of the wooden chair. His face mixed with confusion and curiosity.
“Husband ?”
“So you’ve finally turned around.” Having her lover's attention makes a smile appears on her face.
Albedo blinked twice, still in confusion trying to process her previous statements. Her malicious face was something he couldn’t read right away. Even after months of dating, she was still a mystery to her, as the Moon knows many phases and has many faces, Mona is even more mysterious, so much more than the alchemy reports he was working on right now. She managed to catch all of his attention.
A slight blush appears on her face, illuminated by the moonlight and the candlelight, all the colors and sparkles make her even more stand out. Letting her night sky blue hair, sprinkled by stars pattern curtains the white pillows in which she’s sinked in. How could he be blessed to have such an ethereal person by his side.
“W-what ? Are you going to keep up working or keep staring at me ?”
He let the feather pencil drop on his notes, leaving an ink stain on his precious notes. Moving back to the chair and allowing himself to lead his steps toward her. Her face grows warmer just by the sight of his eyes not leaving her any seconds, and now that she has all his attention, she can’t help but regret teasing him a bit.
Albedo sits by the corner of the bed, caging her between his arms, a smirk appearing in the corner of his mouth. Gazing on her, seeing her reflection in his blue icy orbs, his long platinum strands curtains them.
“May we talk about this “husband” thing ? Are you that impatient to become my “wife” ?”
She yelps from the boldness of his question, gripping the sleeve of his housecoat, allowing herself more space to escape to his intense gaze. But he grabs her by the waist, always with that strong grip, as if she would never ever let her go. Dooming her to face the consequences of her words. Her round cheeks puffed up, she sulked.
“If that’s makes you join me to bed sooner, I might consider to be your wife”
He chuckles, amused but finding proper satisfaction in her answer. He slips her fingers between his own, leaving soft kisses on each of them, insisting on her ring finger.
“Shall I then fulfill my soon to be husband’s duty then ?”
The bedroom immerse itself in darkness...
