Work Text:

Caitlyn walked all over the Kiramman mansion frantically. Her father peaked at her from his chair, looking at her over his paper. Her mother was reading a book in the chair next to him.

"Caitlyn dear. She has a cold and a fever. She'll be alright."

Caitlyn whirled towards her parents with a tray in her hands. The tray had some type of warm soup in it.

"She'd never been sick before mother. This could be serious. The conditions in Stillwater were terrible. What if her system took a hit? And she'd been stabbed multiple times since then."

Caitlyn's mother sighed and looked to her husband for support.

He looked from his wife to Caitlyn and with his warmest smile he spoke up, "Vi is strong young woman. You know that." Caitlyn nodded, "Still if it makes you feel better we can call a doctor if she doesn't get better soon. For now you can go see if she needs anything else?"

"Alright! I'll just go give her some food then." Caitlyn ran to her room pretty quickly, almost spilling the soup on the way.

"I swear that girl blows things out of proportion sometimes." Mr. Kiramman chuckled at his wife's words.

"Right. Wonder who she got it from. Can't be from us, the people who had the doctor practically live here until she got better if she was sick." Mrs. Kiramman squinted her eyes at him, before smiling, remembering how overprotective they used to be about Caitlyn.

"I suppose." She nodded before going back to reading her book.

Meanwhile Caitlyn was in front of her bedroom door. She was just about to open them when she heard a cough, "Vi!" The sniper quickly opened the door, her eyes landing on the brawler that was sill in bed in her pajamas.

"Hey Cupcake. What'd you bring me?" Vi's voice sounded strained and scratchy. Her eyes were slightly unfocused.

"Warm chicken soup. Its still a bit too hot though." Caitlyn hastily walked to Vi's side of the bed, setting the tray on the nightstand.

"Yes you are Cupcake." Vi winked her way, trying to be suave before coughing again.

Caitlyn stepped closer, leaning her forehead against Vi's, "You're burning up." She whispered. As she backed away she took a better look at her girlfriend. She was sweaty, her red hair clinging to her face just as her white tank-top clang to her body. She flushed as her eyes ran further downwards, over Vi's abs, also covered with a sheen of sweat.

"Like what you see Cupcake?" Vi smirked at the way Caitlyn's cheeks flushed. Now almost as red as hers, but for a different reason.

"No. You're sick." Caitlyn had to get a hold of herself. This was no time to ogle Vi. This was the time to help her get better. Step one, lowering her fever, "I'm going to get a cold towel, wait here."

Vi just smiled and blew her a kiss as she walked into the bathroom. Caitlyn could feel the warmth in her face. She hoped it was just from Vi's flirting and that she wasn't also getting sick.

As she walked out she nearly dropped the towel when she saw Vi half naked, "Vi!" Caitlyn averted her eyes quickly as her blush returned.

"What? You've seen them before. And I thought you were gonna wipe off the sweat." Vi tilted her head like a curious puppy, but her signature cocky smirk was plastered on her face. How can she still have the energy to be flirty when she's sick?

Despite her flustered state Caitlyn sat down opposite to Vi, "This is gonna feel really cold."

"Used to it." Vi didn't have to say she was used to it both from her upbringing and her time in Stillwater. But now was not the time for that conversation again. Vi groaned as the cold cloth made contact with her overheated skin. She was used to cooling down her hands every day after work, but this felt different.

Maybe it was because she was sick. But there was also the fact that this was Caitlyn that was doing this. Her movements were gentle, watching for any sign of discomfort from Vi. When she was done she handed Vi a fresh t shirt, long sleeved this time.

Vi could feel Caitlyn watching her like a hawk, "You know I'm not dying right?" Vi chuckled.

"Your health is no laughing matter Vi. My parents agreed to call a doctor if you're not better." Vi groaned and rolled her eyes.

"I'll be fine Cupcake." Caitlyn looked away, "Hey look at me." Vi cupped Caitlyn's face in her hands, making the Topsider look at her, "I'll be fine. I survived way worse than this. But... its nice to have someone taking care of you." Vi's already red face got a deeper shade of red.

Caitlyn felt like crying. The soft, warm way Vi was looking at her was enough to make Caitlyn melt.

"I was supposed to be the one making you feel better. Not the other way around." Caitlyn whispered.

"No reason we can't do both. Now about that soup." Vi's eyes landed on the bowl next to the bed.

"Oh! Right. Do you want be to stay while you eat?" Caitlyn quickly sat up and handed Vi the tray with the soup, hands clasping behind her back.

Vi nodded as she picked up a spoon and tasted the soup.

"Good?" Caitlyn seemed very nervous now.

"Best chicken soup I've ever had Cait." Vi smiled. It made Caitlyn's heart soar. She doesn't know much about cooking, but she was so glad her soup was good enough, "Seriously, if I wasn't sick I'd kiss you right now."

"Well then you better get better quickly." Caitlyn sat back down on her previous spot on the bed watching Vi as she ate slowly. She'd be more than happy to give and get all the kisses when her girlfriend gets better.
