"So, Chuuya you've never talked about your soulmate" Atsushi said.
"Oh my soulmate"
.
.
.
.
Everyone has a soulmate, well not everyone but most people. The first thing they say to you would be on your wrist at the age of fourteen. Dazai was his soulmate (keyword here WAS) he hated Dazai, that was a lie actually. Chuuya in fact loved him, he didn't show that though.
.
.
.
.
"Have you found your soulmate?" Atsushi continued.
"I found my soulmate a long time ago" Chuuya tried to not think about what happened.
.
.
.
.
"Dazai, why are you being so difficult" Chuuya was getting pissed.
"I'm not making fun of you" Dazai had been acting strange for the past week, a lot more quiet when with Chuuya, a lot more nice to his subcoordinate.
"Exactly, why are you being so…..weird" Chuuya took a second to find the right word, but ended up with a basic word.
.
.
.
.
"Why haven't we seen them?" Atsushi was now really intrigued.
"He didn't make it"
.
.
.
.
"Dazai, I know you aren't actually going to the bathroom" Chuuya had been banging on the door for ten minutes with no reply. As any sane person, even if they are only a tiny bit sane, would do, he become worried and decided to go in.
What Chuuya saw hurt him, he wanted to kill someone at that moment. What he saw was a very tired Dazai who had recently finished barfing out flowers.
Hanahaki.
.
.
.
.
"Didn't make it? Like out of the mafia, did they catch him and kill him? Wait sorry, that's probably too personal" Atsushi shrunk down in his chair.
"No no, it's ok. He had the hanahaki disease" Chuuya already felt like crying.
.
.
.
.
"Dazai, why were you so reckless" Chuuya had eventually woken up Dazai and got him out of the bathroom.
"Reckless? For what? Because I fell in love with somebody who will never love me, well I'm sorry for not being able to control my feelings" Dazai was getting pissed quick.
"You know you probably won't survive" Chuuya felt a sting in the back of his eyes.
"Yeah, I know" Dazai was quiet again. "We should probably do the mission now" Dazai quickly walked away from Chuuya.
.
.
.
.
"Who didn't love him? You?" Atsushi asked.
"Well he thought I didn't love him" Chuuya was definitely gonna cry soon.
.
.
.
.
"Dazai, stand up. You can beat that stupid disease" Chuuya was very close to crying, this was their last mission.
Dazai eyes were dull, they always were, but this was so much different he looked...dead, and he was close to death.
.
.
"Chuuya, why are you in here?" Mori raised a eyebrow.
"Is..he okay?" Chuuya felt a little bit of hope.
"Oh, Dazai. No he has...he is no longer with us" Mori looked disappointed.
"Oh...ok" Chuuya quickly left the office and ran down the hall, he wanted to escape everything, he wanted the world to stop crumbling around, he wanted Dazai to make fun of his height, to make stupid bets. He needed to leave.
