Accidental magic

Summary:

Performing accidental magic is a common thing for wizards when they are young and cannot yet control it, and Lily Luna Porter is no exception.
As the Potter family go shopping in Diagon Alley for Teddy's start to school, Lily, just five years old, wanders off and performs magic for the first time.

Work Text:

A little redhead of barely five years old was walking through the crowded streets of Diagon Alley a few days before the start of classes, she was walking briskly very close to her parents and siblings, but unlike them, she was not paying attention to anything other than the it in her hands. With a mixture of excitement and curiosity, she circled what looked like a golden butterfly that at times flapped its tiny wings as if trying to escape and then remained motionless again.

It was almost midafternoon and he went into many stores looking for Teddy's school supplies, but some things still seemed to be missing from the list that her parents constantly checked.

"Why don't you put it on now, dwarf? You'll end up losing it. ”The voice of one of her brothers, Albus, distracted her for a moment and she looked up to see him, but she quickly shook her head.

"I won't," she answered flatly and continued playing with it, it had already been fifteen minutes since she had seen the object in the windows of one of the stores they passed by and fell in love with that brooch, and every time she tried to put it on, it came out flying and she ended up chasing him until she caught it again, she was actually having a lot of fun with it.

As her parents entered the bookstore, the girl stood in front of the door, concentrating on the brooch again. So much was her concentration that she did not notice the cat in front of her who did not take her eyes off her and the striking brooch, until one of the times that the butterfly flew out from between her fingers, the cat jumped to catch it in the air before her and she walked away quickly with the butterfly in her mouth.

Without remembering her parents' warning to never get too far from them, especially in a place as crowded as that, the girl followed the cat. It was somewhat difficult since the streets were crowded and she had to zigzag between the legs of wizards and witches, following a furry brown tail or flashes of golden wings, but she did. She followed him until he finally stopped in front of the cauldron shop. Before she could catch it, the cat deftly climbed the columns of cauldrons that were piled high up the wall to the top.

"No! Give it back, it's mine." she yelled angrily when she saw how she shook him "Come, come down please ..." She tried to call him with a calmer and more friendly voice. But it didn't work either, the cat was not paying attention. The golden wings of the butterfly flapped again, hitting her snout, and he was clawing at it and nibbling it enthusiastically. The little girl didn't know how to get to him before he ended up breaking or releasing him "Enough! Let it go, cat, it's not yours."

Suddenly the cat let out a loud meow and was thrown from there, with its hair standing on end, finally dropping the brooch that ended up inside one of the cauldrons. The butterfly took flight again and this time the girl knew that she was too far to catch her and that made her very sad, her father had bought her the brooch as a gift and she did not want to lose it.

"Lily? Lily! Are you OK? Haven't you hurt yourself?" Looking up she immediately recognized Teddy's green hair, the boy pushing his way through the crowd to get to her. "When I finished buying my books I looked for you, but you were not in the store, and when I left I saw all this disaster. What were you doing here?"

Lily was about to answer when something moved against the palm of her right hand, and when she turned it she saw that there was the clasp, her clasp. She didn't understand when she got there, or how, but this time she quickly took him by the wings and excitedly showed him to Teddy, explaining what had happened as quickly as possible.

"Let's go up. I don't think the store is very happy to have to fix this. ”He looked at all the mess the cauldrons had caused before helping the little girl up with a beaming smile. "We're going to tell the whole story to Al and James too, I'm sure they'll think it was cool."

Notes:

I love the third generation and Lily is definitely my favorite, so I decided to start this third generation story series with her.
As you may have noticed, I think that Teddy is like a son to Harry, and that his children see him as another brother, so he could not be absent from this story.

Again, I did this to get used to the language, I have not written or read in English for years, so excuse all the grammar and spelling mistakes that I missed. Comments with corrections or opinions on the story are appreciated!
