Work Text:
Well.
Tavia wasn't expecting THAT.
Honestly, though, what was she supposed to expect? A hammer? ...don't answer that.
The only thing she saw at this particular moment in time was a note.
Yup.
A note.
Do you see the problem?
...Well, probably not. But this note was significant. Here's what it read:
"My child, I hope you are well.
I understand that you have fallen to the
Underground. Do not worry, I will find
you soon! I am simply having a
bit of fun at the moment, and I shall
be back home in time.
Please, make yourself comfortable!
-Toriel Dreemur, Caretaker of the Ruins"
NOW do you see the problem?
...No, okay, that's fair.
Here's the biggest issue:
She was in Underlust.
NOW the problem is clear.
Okay, let's go a bit more in-depth. Tavia happens to be ace, which isn't bad. Being asexual is actually pretty frickin' valid. However, it can make things worse on occasion. For instance, when you accidentally portal into Underlust.
Like... come on.
No other place to go? Goddammit, portals. ...Okay, maybe it was alright that she had been running from an out-code at the time of arrival- and yes, she was grateful for that, but still. Underlust?
Seriously?
She sighed, looking at her surroundings. She was kinda far into the ruins, but the note seemed to be a photocopy. That explains a lot, she thought. She progressed through the Ruins, miraculously avoiding all enemies. Being quiet has some advantages, I guess. She tried very, very hard not to awaken any sleeping monsters. Theennn she came upon Nabstablook.
Ohhh god.
Okay, quiet, quiet quiet quiet quiet-
"hey... what are you doing out here..?"
She froze. She was tip-toing across the leaves, looking for a way around the ghost. Oh shit shit sHIT SHIT- She started running- the ghost was now upright, so she just RAN- As she passed the ghost, she said something along the lines of "sorryfuckingportalshitgottagonowbye-" and then she was past him.
..wait a sec, Napstablook didn't have any LUST anyway.
Eh. Social interaction was avoided, and that was a win.
She ran her hand through her shoulder-length brown hair. Normally, it would be up, but not today. She fished through her blazer pocket for a second before finding her glasses and putting them on, FINALLY. She continued through the Ruins, quickly but quietly. She finally reached Home...
And proceeded to run through it as fast as she could.
There was no way in HELL she was gonna stay for any amount of time. Reading a book? NOPE. Getting pie? NOPE. Reading a personal passage from a journal? NOPE. She just kept going. Eventually, she reached the door. Past it was just a little cavern, which hopefully was empty. She'd taken a journey through multiple different Undergrounds to know what was coming. A cave, then... ohhhh god.
She'd forgotten about Sans.
...shit.
Passing into the cave, she stopped. Not going any further, not about to meet Sans. Nope. Not happening. She felt her brown eyes turning purple, which was a sign of rising anxiety. Welp. Fuck it, she thought.
She opened the door.
There she was- the forest. She started walking faster, snapping the branch before annny other monster could, aand then- fuck.
She heard someone behind her.
ShitshitshitshitsHITSHITSHITSHIT-
Tavia whipped around and cut Sans off before he could say anything. "Hello! I'm sorry, but I really, really, really need to go. I deeply apologize, and now I'm gonna go!" She looked down at her hand- it was glowing purple. She suddenly got an idea. Okay, this is gonna look really badass if it goes right.
Sans looked rather surprised, but Tavia wasn't one for conversation. She grinned and fell backwards.
In her mind, it looked like this:
She would fall backwards into the space under the bridge, and Sans would THINK she died. So when he looks down- HA! She's disappeared into a portal, and now she's GONE. HAHAHA!
What actually happened looked like this:
She fell backwards, right onto the bridge. In an effort to regain dignity, she jumped back up and just stepped off the bridge. The effect was gone, but hey. She felt kinda badass.
She then disappeared into a portal, and that was over with.
Thank.
GOD.
