"Don't look at the light! Don't look at her eyes! She'll hypnotize you!"
The brave knight shielded his gaze, trying to approach the throne from memory. The evil queen was alone in her throne room, finally unprotected by any of her enthralled slaves. She should be vulnerable to the party's attack.
Suddenly, he heard a sword unsheathing right in front of him. One of the soldiers must have come back! By instinct, he opened his eyes to meet his new foe- only to find himself staring directly into the eyes of the queen.
He tried to pull his gaze away but it was too late. The strength of her gaze and the pulse of the light sapped his will within seconds. He was barely able to struggle before everything went black.
