"You...you have the aura of the stars, don't you?"
When Albedo, Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius, spoke those words to you, you felt a tingling sensation in your stomach. When you felt it, you craved more of it. You started to dream up scenarios on what it would be like if you two actually got together.
"Archons forbid," you thought "that would never happen. As one of Mr. Albedo's assistants, those thoughts are highly unprofessional. So, no, I would conclude that it will never happen"
"Not today"
"Not tomorrow"
"Not ever"
"I must rid myself of these foolish thoughts."
Those were the words you say to yourself each passing day, but each day got more and more difficult to do through; especially since the person you so desired worked so close to you. Each passing day, your heart began to ache, began to crave the sensations that you had thought up in your dreams.
One day, you couldn't keep it to yourself any longer, you confessed your feelings to him.
"Hm? Is that so?" he said with a hint of surprise and concern in his voice. "Perhaps this 'tingling sensation' that you feel is merely flatulence of some sort?"
You stand there, astounded for a few seconds before bursting out into laughter. You catch a glimpse of Albedo's shocked expression before he composes himself once more. "Was there something wrong with my conclusion?" He asked with a tone of curiosity.
"You know, Mr. Albedo, there are many things that science fails to explain. One of them is the nature of humans, such as myself."
"Oh?" he asked while slightly raising an eyebrow "Well, I do apologise that a homunculus such as myself cannot comprehend many of these natures." He said with a smirk.
Suddenly flustered and surprised at his response, you feel your cheeks warm up "W-well, I didn't mean to offend you in any way shape or form. Uh... Now if you would please excuse me." After you say these words you turn your back with the intention of leaving his office in embarrassment. You already thought of a multitude of excuses you would tell him later so he would (hopefully) forget today's events.
"Hm? I don't ever recall dismissing you, y/n. After all, you were looking for a response were you not?"
Surprised at his words, you turn to face him once again. In a daze, you started to examine everything that you could see. Messy paperwork, a cluttered office desk, a neat stack of books amongst the chaos, some alchemical apparatuses, and finally the man you had fallen for. "Archons," you thought to yourself "what have I gotten myself into?" Albedo gets up from his chair and walks over to you. In a panic, you started to examine the approaching figure before you. His neatly braided hair, his calm teal eyes, and wait were his cheeks a bit red? "I must have imagined the last one" you thought.
Albedo clears his throat and with his throat, he clears you thoughts as well, dragging you back to reality. "It seems that I still do need to learn quite a few things when it comes to the human nature, that is why I simply must, how do we say, select a mentor for these sorts of things..." You stare at him as he continues "... And what better mentor could I select other than the one I see before me?"
You feel your mouth open as you were a bit confused when you heard his response." Mentor? Human nature? What? What were we talking about again?" you thought. At this moment, the best response you could muster in return was a nod and a confused face. Seeing your confused face, Albedo smiles and says "What I mean is that I want you to teach me how beautiful human nature can be."
You stand there, stunned. You did not really expect this outcome. You suddenly tear up and start crying. Seeing this, Albedo quickly became worried "Are you alright? Did I say anything out of place?" he asked worriedly. "No, no, its just that, I'm so happy to hear how you feel."
Hearing your words, he holds you in a tight embrace. This makes the tingling sensation in your stomach return and you wish that the feeling would never go away.
