Good Day, Everyone! I am back again with another story. This whole idea was from one of my friends, Jo. Also, I actually wanted this as a gift for myself and for my friend, Bei, but again, I am late for like 3 months now. That aside, I hope you will all enjoy this story. ( I will probably re-read this some time in the future, and make some changes. )

— This is a sequel to Hues and You, but it can be read as a stand-alone.

Chapter Text

Jihoon and Soonyoung. Woozi and Hoshi. Soulmates Fated Together. Connected by a red string, eternally.

They were two souls always brought together by fate, or so it was. Everything changed after Lifetime: 1122 , the lifetime before Hues and You

Before the years of pain, they were happy. They always were. It wasn’t like this. They always had their happy endings. Always happily ever after, until it wasn’t.

It has been decades, maybe even centuries, since these two souls have been together in a lifetime where they were able to love each other without suffering. What happened? What have they done for them to suffer this way? Why were they always given lifetimes filled with happy beginnings, only to end with tragic endings? Is this all they could do from now on? Were they always meant to find each other, but not stay together? Do they always have to suffer?

Hundreds of lifetimes were spent with only pain and suffering. It was like they were cursed. Cursed for something that neither of the souls knew. A curse where one doesn’t remember and one always does. Both souls suffered through an endless abyss. They struggled through different lifetimes, hoping and trying, to find the missing piece. The one last piece. The piece that can help them unlock centuries of happy endings.

After centuries of happy beginnings and sad endings, they were given nothing. They were brought to an endless desert. An endless desert where they had to walk for miles and miles, but still see nothing. It was like the universe hated them, and wanted them to suffer.

In the past centuries, they were given a chance to see each other even if it didn't last long, and then now, they were trapped. Imprisoned in a place where they can never see each other, no matter how hard they try. Maybe the universe did hate them, or so they thought.

After decades of walking aimlessly in an endless desert, when they were on the verge of giving up, a spark ignited in their heart, and said these words,

“Two hearts become one. Two Souls become bound. It is time to end thy suffering. Find thy light and paint the skies. Thou may have forgotten, but thou shall remember, for thy heart has never forgotten the colors of thy eternal hue. ”

Lifetime: 14338

It was a brand-new lifetime. A lifetime after the pain and suffering. A lifetime after, they were banished to an endless desert. A lifetime of new hope and new chances.

It was a new lifetime, but they had retained almost everything from Lifetime: 1122. Soonyoung was yet again, a painter. Jihoon, a photographer. It was a repeat of what once was, but it wasn’t. Everything felt so similar, yet so different. Only one from the pair remembers, yet both of their hearts know that they were longing for someone.

c h i l d h o o d   -----

Soonyoung was a healthy baby boy, born on the 15th of June. He was a big kid, as some may say. He was very bubbly and rarely cried. Many people adored him, but he got even more attention when he showed great talent in the arts at such a young age. His parents once gave him a piece of paper and some child-safe paint when he was just about to turn 3. In a single piece of paper, he was able to make an art piece that didn’t seem to be something a child would be capable of. Since then, he was recognized as a Child Prodigy. A genius. One in a million. He was a gift.

At age 8, he was officially recognized as the Youngest Art Prodigy all over the world. Growing up as a prodigy made Soonyoung a happy kid. He basked in the spotlight, just like how his alias, “Hoshi” meant star. He was happy with the attention, with the praise, with the love. It didn’t seem to be a burden for him at all, for his parents made sure that he was raised like a normal kid, despite his status as a prodigy.

It was all going fine. Everything seems to be in its perfect place, but Soonyoung still felt the emptiness in his heart. There was something pulling him, but he doesn’t know what it was. He pretended that it was nothing; that it was just his mind playing with him. It was okay. He was okay, but everything changed when he entered his last year of High School.
