Chapter Text
As the boy fell to the ground, vanilla ice cream got all over his face and chocolate chips, alongside the occasional purple sprinkle, began to trickle down his nose. Wafer cone pieces covered his cheeks.
“What the fuck? Who do you think you are!” the boy yelled.
Geum Jan Di couldn’t believe her eyes. She didn’t know who this guy was, but if she had to cross paths with him again, she was sure she wouldn’t get along with him because in her book, he was two equally annoying things: Arrogant, and most notably, obnoxious.
She crossed her arms and sighed. “My name is Geum Jan Di. I’m new here.”
The curly haired boy tried to wipe the ice cream off his face with his hands. Sprinkles and wafer cone pieces started to land on his fingers, his palms, and in between his nails. In the courtyard nearby, a group of guys dressed in casual clothes instead of the uniforms required by the school were all staring at him in anticipation, eagerly awaiting the boy´s next move. Their names were So Yi Jung, Yoon Ji Hoo, and Song Woo Bin, and just like Gu Jun Pyo, they were a part of the famous F4, a group of four childhood friends who came from the wealthiest families in South Korea.
Gu Jun Pyo scoffed.¨New? Well that explains why you don’t have the slightest care in the world about this. If you knew who I was, you would regret ever spilling ice cream on my black designer shoes, let alone throwing the rest of your ice cream into my face. I mean are you even aware of the magnitude your actions against me hold?”
“Well, I would be more considerate of that if you didn't deserve it and I just threw the ice cream in your face for no reason, but I don't do things like that without a proper motive. Because if I have to remind you, you were the one who didn't listen to me even if I said sorry or insisted spilling ice cream on your shoes was only an accident. In fact, in your own words,¨ she paused to prepare herself to mimic his deep voice, ¨You said: ´Apologizing is not enough.´ So no, I don´t care about the quote on quote magnitude my actions against you hold. And knowing who you are or whatever won't change that.¨
Yi Jung, Ji Hoo, and Woo Bin started whispering things to one another, murmuring about how ¨That girl really means business doesn't she?¨ and ¨Wow she doesn´t take stuff from anyone and I mean anyone.¨ Gu Jun Pyo caught on to this, annoyed that his friends seemed to be praising her.
“Hey I heard that!” He exclaimed. “Did you guys forget you´re supposed to be backing me up on this?” He shook his head. “Ugh. Anyways, I know you didn´t ask, but I´m going to say it anyway since our beloved classmates at Shinhwa have clearly let you live under a rock by failing to tell you who I am. I´m Gu Jun Pyo. My name is a name you should get used to hearing by the way.¨
“Okay and? You expect me to jot that down like it's important or something? You´re not the Queen Of England. And you´re not any of the members from Shinee either.¨
Gu Jun Pyo snorted, amused at her attempts to one up him. ¨Is that what you call telling me off?¨ He laughed.¨You sure do have a lot of guts talking to me like I'm some irrelevant nobody when I´m the heir to Shinhwa Group and I just so happen to be on the Forbes list of youngest millionaires.¨
“Yeah but, none of those things mean you’re automatically worthy of my respect when you act like a jerk. Like it's absurd that you think you bringing up your money or status will suddenly make me kiss your feet when, so far, you haven't done shit to earn my respect. I mean it's such a simple concept to grasp. Did your parents never teach you that?¨
¨Why does it matter if my parents taught me that or not?¨
“Because maybe then you wouldn't think having all the money in the world can make up for having a terrible personality.¨ Geum Jan Di said, walking away.
¨Guys,¨ Gu Jun Pyo snapped as he got up from the ground. ¨Did you fucking see that?¨
