Chapter Text
“So what’d ya think?” Denmark asked with a smirk adorning his face, as usual.
“Well it’s one of the better songs out there, and I’m honoured that you included Faroe, Aland, and I, but I think there was still something missing…” Greenland replied, tapping her finger on her chin and swivelling in her chair. Denmark stood up calmly, walked over to Greenland, and then put her in a headlock while dragging her out of her chair.
“Ah come on! Just admit that it’s perfect!” The two of them struggled around the room and nearly crashed into Finland as he entered. He ignored their antics and clapped his hands together, smiling cheerfully.
“Oh! Did you play her the song already? What did you think?” Denmark spun himself and Greenland, still trapped in his arms, towards Finland.
“She’s refusing to admit its awesomeness, like always.” With a final tug, Greenland pulled her head away from her cousin’s grasp. She stumbled away from the two and then put her hands up, showing defeat.
“Fine, fine, I’ll admit it. Your song is by far the most glorious noise to ever enter my ears.” Denmark cheered, jumping in the air, while Finland clapped.
“I’m glad you liked it. I can’t say that I cared for it much myself.” Greenland leaned to the side, looking past Finland to see Iceland leaning in the doorway with an annoyed look on his face. Denmark crossed his arms.
“Yeah right Icy! You had a great time!”
“I hate to agree with Denny, but it did sound like you enjoyed yourself.” Greenland shrugged. Iceland scrunched his face even more.
“I would like either of you to point out where-”
“Nature is calling once again today!” She started singing a verse from the song.
“We’re the ones who’re in charge of Europe’s northern side!” Finland happily followed along while Iceland rolled his eyes. Greenland danced around the room humming the tune of the song.
“Next time you guys make a song you better invite me!”
“Pff, with your singing voice? We’re better off-” Denmark’s insult was cut off by sounds of pain as Greenland stopped by him and started tugging on his ear.
“What was that you were saying? I’m sorry, I can’t quite make it out.” The chaos and bickering was an average scene in the Nordic countries but, even so, it was always fun. The Nordics were always there for each other, even if it was in an irritating way. Greenland had finally started to accept that living with her cousin instead of her brothers in North America had its perks, notably being able to spend time with Iceland, who was only a year older than her. The only real downside of living with Denmark was when he would come home late, after Greenland had gone to bed, and make so much noise that the house shook. She knew where he had been, and she knew what he had been doing, but she only assumed that he was responsible enough to drink in moderation.
