Corpses in the Closet

Summary:

Loosely based on killing time // kissing a corpse by WishfullyThinking. May possibly have romance, just depends on where this goes.

Work Text:

I take a deep breath before walking into the rundown building, unlocking the back door meant only for employees. As I look around, I notice dust particles floating in the flickering overhead lights. "They really wanna make this authentic, huh?" I mutter as I walk further into my new job site. I'm going to be working as a night guard for this place my friend is setting up. "Fazbear's Fright", or something like that is the name. It's supposedly based on the old Freddy murders. I was born after they happened so I'm too young to remember them, but I heard a lot of stories when I was a kid.
I glance down at the map of the building layout given to me, navigating my way to the room I'll be working in. Once inside I take in the room; there's a desk against one wall, a large window in front of it, and to the right is a vent big enough for me to crawl in. I wonder if that's how they used to be built. The walls are cracked and decorated with posters and crude children's drawings of the original animatronics of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza franchise. Clutter from the restaurants can be seen along the back wall in boxes. The place still isn't fully set up, so most of the stuff is still in moving boxes.
I sit on the swivel chair in front of the desk to get started on my job, startling when I hear the phone on the desk ring. I hesitate before picking up. "He-" I get cut off by a voice. "Hey Oliver! Glad you decided to show." I assume it's a prerecorded audio from my friend, so I set the receiver down and listen. "Um, so I know the place isn't done yet, sorry about that. But hey, at least you don't have much to do yet, haha. Anyway, while rooting around we found some cool stuff. We got some authentic animatronic parts! Isn't that cool? And we found some more drawings, that's always nice...Sorry again about the place, I thought we'd have more by now. Um, like, if we don't have something cool by next week we might have to dress you up in a furry costume and have you yell "Boo!" at people, haha. Anyway, I'll send calls like this every night for the first week, buh-bye." The audio clicks off. I grin at the idea of scaring people in a furry suit. I actually have a suit I made myself, a white bunny with sharp teeth.
I settle down and begin to flip through the cameras. I had learned how to use them a week prior to today, during my tour of the place. It was super empty then, though. After while I mess around my phone until 6:00 A.M. rolls around. Standing, I stretch and sigh when my back pops. I grab the bag I set down and head out, unlocking the employee door and locking it behind me again. I walk to my car and drive home, yawning once or twice. Once back at my apartment, I collapse onto the couch and almost immediately after setting up an alarm.
