Visiting Montauk after all of these years had really brought back memories, of his old life, his past self, 6th grade, Nancy Bobofit (No! Not her again!) Montauk was one of the actually good things from his past, along with Enchilada Day at school.
"Percy!" His mom called, "I need help setting up the cabin! Could you help!"
He was too busy staring at the ocean that he forgot that he just arrived here.
"Coming mom!" He replied back.
As he was walking, his feet hit the warm and coarse sand, but along the sandy path, was a rough and jagged rock, and unfortunately for Percy, he stepped on it.
Percy's soul nearly jumped out of his body, as he tried his to cover up his pain. Percy's Mom noticed Percy jumping around the path holding his foot like it was on fire. She chuckled and called Percy back inside.
"Who in Hades thought it was a good idea to place that rock there?" Percy groaned.
"Nobody placed any rock anywhere, It's all in the duty of nature" Percy's mom said.
"You mean Demeter" Percy corrected.
"Demeter is a god of nature?"
Percy entered the cabin, they were going to be staying here for a while so they needed to unpack all of their bags. He had riptide in his pocket, he took it with him everywhere. He also packed some ambrosia and enctar in case they hit any...roadblocks along the way. He took his cellphone with him too, first time he used that thing in months, he didn't even know if he remembered his password or not.
Slowly tapping on the wall, Percy was creating vision in his head of what the cabin would look like if it was new. They stayed in this cabin every time they visited Montauk, therefore it was very old. One part of the room was completely carpeted, it wasn't like that last time they came here.
Maybe another family left it here, and they forgot to take it back, he thought. But deep down he knew that wasn't the case. Something fishy was up with that carpet, and Percy knows the smell of fish when he smells it.
"Hey mom, was that carpet there before?" Percy questioned.
His mom who was in the other room, making that nights dinner replied with, "I"m busy honey, ask me some other time!"
Percy stared at the carpet for a few seconds, and then shrugged it off, assuming it was his demigod instincts. He walked towards his bed and laid down and sighed. he started to doze off, until he heard a sound.
WooOoooOOOoOoOoo
He covered his ears, he hadn't heard such a horrible sound since he saw Frank after eating Taco Bell.
"MOM!!" Percy yelled, "WHAT'S THAT SOUND!!!???"
His mom ran to his room, "WHAT IN HADES WAS THA-
She was disturbed by a loud CRASH!
"What was that noise!?" Percy yelled.
He and his mom ran towards the source of the noise. It led them outside.
Percy saw something in the sky, something he could make out was a portal, but wait, something was coming out of it, a large ship of sorts.
"Are you seeing this?" Percy said in shock.
"With both of my two eyes Percy" His mom replied.
Percy didn't understand, this didn't look like anything he knew from anything Greek, Roman, Egyptian, or Norse.
People in the beach started freaking out, it wasn't long before the ship started sending missles their way.
Percy uncapped Riptide. "Lead them to safety mom! I can handle this!"
Sally picked herself off of the ground, "That thing came through a portal and its armed, and you can barely kill a flying pig!"
"That pig was immortal mom!" Percy yelled back. "Nevermind that, just, make sure no one gets killed, or you, or gods forbid, me."
Sally ran towards the crowd to people rushing towards the exit of the beach, you could almost say it was looking like New York, just kidding, nothing matches up to New York, nothing.
Percy did the first thing that came to his mind, call someone. He picked up his phone and dialed the first thing the came to his mind
"Hey Leo?" Percy stuttered, "A little help"
Leo picked up his phone, "Yeah kinda busy right now, what's up?"
"Umm video call me, one second."
"Yeah buddy I got all the time in the world, all the time in the-WOAH!"
From the screen, Leo could see the spaceship, which was more than halfway out of the portal by now, inching closer and closer towards Montauk. Leo, with a frightened expression planted on his face, calmy told himself, "This is just a dream, yeah it's just a dream, I just watch too much Star Wars and Voltron, yeah, yeah, it's just a dream, right...?"
"I'm not dreaming and I don't think you are either" Percy replied, "So are you going to help me or what?"
"Dude, I'm hundreds of miles away from you right now, best I can do is ride one of my robots to Dunkin' Donuts, try someone else."
"You're the only person I know who can help!" Percy exclaimed.
"Frank?"
"Occupied."
"Hazel?"
"Elsewhere."
"Annabeth?"
"Off-country"
Leo thought for a bit, then he caved. "Alright, I'll think of something."
"That's my ma-"
"Shut up."
Leo tried saying something but it was too late, the call was disconnected, Percy tried again but it wouldn't work. Stupid internet wasn't working. He tried spamming the call button, it wouldn't work.
"Dam this phone!" He said in rage as he smacked it on the ground. "Oh yeah, dam."
In his rage, he tried summoning a huge tidal wave to hopefully knock the ships power down, although he did manage to create one, it wasn't high enough to reach the ship. He did the only thing he thought he could do. Gazing at his pocket, Percy took out riptide and uncapped his ballpoint pen. Almost instantly, a flash of bronze glittered in front of Percy's eyes, and then the blade became visible.
Now that he had a weapon to fight for him, he wasn't sure what to do with it. He wasn't able to jump high and slash through the ship, and he didn't have a magical robot or robot lions to do it for him.
Percy saw the ship and it was about to land. he hit the ground, covering his head. As the ship was about to land, Percy was thinking, Why right now? Why here? Why did it have to happen here? In Montauk? Does this have something to do with Percy?
A massive thump echoed throughout the beach, Percy then knew that the package has landed, the really big package.
As the exit of the ship started to open, Percy heard the loud siren stop, the siren that started all of this.
Before Percy could see the figures exiting out of the ship, he thought about the same thought again, Out of ALL places, why here? Why couldn't it be, I don't know, Wyoming?
Percy was so angry that these idiots decided to ruin his vacation, his happy place, one of his happy places. Without thinking, Percy got up, clutched riptide, and charged straight towards the ship, not knowing what lied in store for him next
