Work Text:
Angela flipped a page, lazily skimming her eyes over its contents. No matter how many times she read, nothing seemed to click in her mind. Over and over. Just the same words with empty meanings.
Honestly, she was glad Roland immediately had done something stupid. Hearing him almost choke on what seemed to be coffee turned out to be a big enough excuse for her to slam the book shut.
“So what’s this all about?”
“Eh? Oh, uh, I wanted to see if I could recreate the old coffeepots I had at my job. Mostly to show Chesed how shitty they were.”
Made sense… oddly. “So how is it?”
He opened his mouth to speak, but paused. An instant wave of regret washed over Angela right at that moment. That look in his eyes… no…
“Just like having sex in a canoe,” he said, trying his best yet still failing at hiding the newfound smile he had.
“I… am not quite sure I follow.” She treaded lightly, dreading whatever could be possibly floating in his head at the moment.
“It’s fucking close to water.”
She grimaced at him. “How dare you,” she squinted, standing up. His triumphant snicker told her all she needed to know about the situation. She summoned a small paperback book, and Roland, knowing what was to come, placed the shitty little coffee down and was thoroughly bopped on the head.
Wasn’t much of a deterrent which how light it was. That, and he could see the faintest little smile on her face.
