Lucifer and Chloe entered the interrogation room. Side by side, like they always do. The suspect threw her eyes at them and despite Lucifer’s reputation, it was Chloe that made her smile. “Hello, detectives”, she said with a smirk.
Lucifer loved confident women, it gave him a challenge. They were harder to crack. “Miss Joy Baker, you are here because several witnesses saw you entering and leaving the victim’s house. So now is a good time to start talking.” Chloe began her usual talk. Lucifer would only interfere when he had to. For the rest of the time he just had to sit still, be pretty and agree with everything Chloe said.
“You’re hot”, was all Joy said. Chloe rolled her eyes. It wasn’t the first time a suspect tried to flirt their way out of it, especially when Lucifer was around. But something was different this time. The suspect didn’t stop looking at her. At her. Not Lucifer, the one pulling out everyone’s desires. She didn’t understand, but just continued her police talk.
It was a few minutes later when Joy made another comment. “You can arrest me anytime, detective. I’d gladly follow.” Chloe looked at her like she just saw a ghost. It was right there and then she heard and saw Lucifer shift in his chair next to her. Was he getting uncomfortable? Despite Chloe’s attempts to get the suspect to talk about the case, she just kept on looking at her intensely. It made Chloe uncomfortable but she was also flattered. She had to admit Joy was a good looking woman.
It was at that moment Lucifer decided to jump out of his chair. “Alright alright. Enough already. Please just talk so we can all move on with our lives.” While the first part of his sentence was aimed at the suspect, his eyes landed on Chloe when he said “our lives.” Chloe got the hint and thought it was kinda cute. He was jealous.
“With all due respect sir, but i’m not interested in talking to you.” Lucifer was trying to hide his confusion. A woman who wasn’t interested in him? What in the world? Chloe let out a little laugh, which gave her a cute but desperate look from her boyfriend. “Where were we?”, Joy said when she looked back at her.
“We were at the point where you were gonna tell us what you did in the victim’s apartment that night”, Lucifer said while he was trying to get her attention. “Well i know where I wanted to be instead, that’s for sure”, Joy said. Chloe was getting uncomfortable now and she knew Lucifer saw it. She wasn’t at all surprised when she thought she saw his eyes turning red for a second. “Alright. You can shut your bloody mouth now”, he said before grabbing the suspect by her shoulders.
Joy seemed surprised and fought back. Lucifer let her go. “What the hell is your problem, man? I was just flirting.” The suspect tried to stay calm and, most importantly, tried to keep a jealous Lucifer calm. “Yeah … that’s just the problem. You weren’t just flirting there, you were making the Detective feel uncomfortable.” Chloe smiled at him from a distance. He knew. “And why would you even care?” That sentence made Lucifer laugh.
“Why would I care? Well, let me tell you something, Miss Baker”, he was getting annoyed. “Firstly, you were trying to flirt with the woman I love. So you were wrong there, I should be the one flirting with her.” His voice was calm, but it made the woman feel very embarrassed and scared already. “But that’s okay. I get why you’d flirt with her. She’s pretty amazing, Believe me, I know. But what you can’t do and what i will never let you do is make the mother of my child feel uncomfortable. That’s where you made a mistake.” His eyes turned red again and Chloe saw the fear in the suspect’s eyes.
“Lucifer. It’s okay. I’m fine.” Chloe leaned forward and put her hand on his back. He let go of his red eyes. “I-I I will tell you everything. And I’m sorry mister Morningstar, miss Decker.” Lucifer smiled and went back to his chair, the one next to Chloe and took her hand. He didn’t let it go until they left the room.
“Thanks, babe. That was cute.” Chloe smiled at her boyfriend. “I am not cute. Her behaviour was unacceptable and I had to interfere.” He really was her guardian devi. “You know I was going to be fine. But thank you anyways. For always having my back.” He started blushing. “Maybe I was also getting a bit jealous”, he confessed. “I don’t like it when people flirt with you. It makes me feel scared.” Chloe looked him in the eyes. “Babe. You don’t have to be scared. Ever. I love you and only you. Dammit, we even have a baby together.” He smiled. “That we do”, he said before wrapping his right arm around her shoulder before he whispered “I love you too, Chloe” into her ear. “Let’s go home now. I also want to be arrested by the famous Chloe Decker.”
She couldn’t hide her smile. She wouldn’t want to change him for the world. Her goofy, silly boyfriend. The love of her life and the father of her youngest daughter. “Let’s get going then”, she whispered before leaving a soft kiss on his cheek.
