Work Text:
Larry exited the elevator on the floor where Frank’s desk was situated. He glanced back over his shoulder. “Thanks, Harriet.”
“Anytime, sugar,” she said and closed the elevator door.
Larry spotted Frank at his desk. “Frank, hi. How are you doing?”
Frank nodded. “Better, Larry, thanks. Have a seat?”
Larry sat across from him. “Thanks. Say, I had an idea and wanted to run it by you. How would you like to pick up my next five assignments and I’ll take yours?”
Frank’s eyes widened. “You’d do that?”
Larry gave a half shrug. “I know you’re tied into the next five or so until you can get your department transfer so I thought I could help out by taking them. I have a couple shows, a store opening, and a couple others. Interested?”
Frank nodded. “I’m very interested! This is really selfless of you, Larry.”
“It’s something I can do for you,” Larry stated. He stood and set a manilla envelope on the desk. “Here’s what I have for a couple of the assignments. I’ll pass along the rest when I get it.”
Frank stood and stuck a hand out to shake Larry’s, which he accepted and shook. “Thank you, Larry. This means a lot to me.”
“You’re welcome, Frank. Talk to you soon,” Larry headed for the elevator, smiling. That had felt good.
