Work Text:
“Just create a split in the middle of the stem and stick the next flower through it.” Catra had grown a liking to creating flower crowns after Perfuma taught her at their last therapy session. She waited patiently for a bit as she watched Adora struggle with making the split.
“Why is this so difficult?” she whined as she accidentally ripped the whole stem in half for the fifth time. Patience and relaxation were definitely a work in progress for Adora. Perfuma had been so very grateful when Catra offered to pass on their practices from their sessions. The last thing anyone had expected was for Catra to work better with Perfuma than Adora.
“Take deep breaths, Adora. You need to be able to channel and control your strength, and be able to work without it. Like how I’m not using my claws right now.” The two were currently sitting against a tree in Plumeria, with Catra’s practically in Adora’s lap.
Despite her frustration, she smiled and gave Catra a soft look, “Since when did you become the wise one?”
Catra’s cheeks flushed as she looked away, “Pfft, I’ve always been the wise one.”
“Oh? Is that so?”
“Absolutely.” The mood was too peaceful to bring up anything from the past, so Adora just rolled her eyes in response, and went back to her flowers.
“Catra! Look, I made a chain of two!” Adora beamed and showed Catra her accomplishment.
“About time,” she snickered, but gave Adora a kiss. Adora knew her lover meant well.
“Do I get a kiss for every chain I make?” she asked, jokingly.
“Hmm.” Of course Catra would. “Maybe.” She continued trying with a newfound determination.
Meanwhile, Catra had finished her own, and placed it on Adora’s head as she concentrated.
“Woah, how did you finish so fast?”
“’S not so hard, princess,” she shrugged, despite the pinkish tint on her cheeks.
After some time, Adora finally finished making her flower crown, and placed it on Catra’s head. It was a little wonky, but really good for her first time.
They checked in with Perfuma, and then headed back to the castle. Perfuma was relieved to know that giving Catra the responsibility of passing what she learned to Adora, turned out to be successful.
