Work Text:
Draken stares in disbelief as he hears Mikey’s stomach grumble at 3AM. Their eyes meet and he’s not surprised that their ever so fearless leader shows no shame despite the fact that he definitely knew Mikey had been fed well.
He even has the audacity to whisper, “Ken-chin I’m hungry.”
Not this time, Draken refuses to leave the warmth beneath the blankets. He turns around to increase his Mikey resistance by +3.
That bastard slides closer, arms and legs outstretched as he wraps around Draken, “We don’t have anymore dorayaki.”
Mikey resistance: -4.
He can hold out. He can even be stubborn when he’s been stabbed. This is nothing.
“Ken-chin…” and how can someone sound so sad over not eating at 3AM.
“Fine!” Draken grumbles, “but you’re coming with” — and with that he grabs Mikey by the scruff lifting up the smug asshole.
When at long last Mikey is wrapped in scarves and gloves, because no Mikey you can’t go out in short sleeves when it’s snowing they head out towards the nearest 24-hour shop.
Somehow, someway they begin to run, because it’s Mikey of course, there’s snow in Draken’s eyes and he feels half drowned by the time they make it to the neon signs glowing in the night. Mikey does something between a hop and a dash towards the baked good aisle. Draken saunters over too, disturbed by the sudden stillness that has overtaken Mikey.
“I feel...dark impulses…”
“HUH?”
Draken whips his head following his friend’s line of sight to the empty shelf.
“DON’T JOKE LIKE THAT,” and he’s shaking Mikey by the collar as the other laughs, garbling something unintelligible as his body vibrates with amusement.
“Just get the egg sandwich or something,” Draken huffs completely done with his husband.
“I don’t want egg.”
“Okay? Grab a doughnut or something?”
“No.”
“...”
“Ken-chin I want dorayaki.”
“...”
There it is again, their stare off, but Mikey remains undefeated as Draken relents. “The next store is a couple blocks away.”
“Ken-chin my socks are wet.”
“...”
Might as well give in all the way… He helps boost Mikey up on his back, carrying him, an echo of all the times they’ve done this since over a decade ago.
Mikey points forward like he’s directing a noble steed, and Draken must be infected because he starts running as the poor cashier stares at them in confusion as if they were an early morning delusion rather than two solid human beings.
If the leader wants dorayaki, well they’re going to go get some damn dorayaki.
