Chapter Text
Nobody is at home. Ryunosuke has been invited by Kazuma to lunch, and her Majesty the Queen has requested Iris assistance in selecting the finest tea for an important diplomatic meeting. The only one left in Baker Street's suite is Herlock, who is working on a new case.
The office is in disarray, as usual. Things are scattered across the floor, and sheets are hung on a wall. When Susato enters the room, a tray in her hands, Herlock has made another pile of books. Susato frowns; she dislikes untidy places. But this is Herlock: whenever he is on a case, "he creates chaos" quoting Iris' words. And his chaos makes sense — once again, Iris' words.
The man has not noticed Susato. The girl approaches him from behind and taps him on the shoulder.
"Working hard as usual, are we?"
Herlock turns to look at Susato; a smile spreads on his lips. He leans forward for a peck, then takes a cup of tea from the tray. It is matcha tea, precisely, his newly favourite blend.
"As they say, no rest for the wicked, my dear! Criminals are always lurking in London, and the security of its peole rests on my shoulders."
Susato smiles brightly.
"I feel safer hearing you say that!"
The girl places the tray on Herlock's desk and spins to face the detective.
"Do you require any assistance, Mister Sholmes?"
"It feels so weird when you call me that, Susato," the detective says, a frown on his face. "Would you at least call me Sholmes?"
His request is too much for her: a blush turns her pink cheeks red, and her eyes are forced to look away.
"Oh, right" Herlock mutters to himself, nodding. "I guess I will have to wait for you to feel ready, then."
"I—"
Herlocks clicks his tongue.
"There is no need for you to apologise. I understand. Now, you should not hide that beautiful face of yours."
Herlock approaches Susato and places a thumb and an index finger around her chin to lift her head. Susato is now forced to look at him. Her face burns hot, and Herlock cannot help but chuckle.
"Actually, I might find this part of you to be quite intriguing," he says.
Slowly, he draws closer to her until their lips meet in a soft embrace. When they part, Susato objects.
"I wonder how amusing you will consider my Sudato Takedown. Do you want to have a taste of it, my dear Sholmes?"
She is smiling, but something in her voice suggests that she might be serious, despite the wide smile crossing her lips. The detective bursts into a laughter.
"I shall gladly oblige to your invitation, my dear. How about you show me what you have got tonight? My private office opens at—"
Herlock is not capable of completing the sentence. Extremely embarrassed by his proposal, Susato executes a throw and lifts the detective mid-air. In a blink of an eye, the man is laying on his back on the ground. The Susato Takedown has been landed and so has the detective.
