Sleep well, cuddle a bear!

Summary:

Here's the thing: Johnny might be, just maybe, a little (a lot) in love with Kun, his “little” crush dating back to when they shared a room together in Osaka. But he believed it was just a passing crush, right? It wouldn't be the first time.

Except it wasn't. And every day he regrets telling Yuta and Taeyong about Kun because his traitorous friends use every little opportunity they have to combine the two together in the same room again.

Notes:

I really, really love JohnKun, so I hope everyone who gets here enjoys the reading ^^

Work Text:

Johnny watched Taeyong go to the door when the doorbell rang, announcing that more guests were arriving. They decided to have a “small” — at least how small it can be when it comes to gathering 23 guys —, party to celebrate their new dorms and also celebrate the achievements of their units.

He was able to hear Taeyong's voice giving a welcome in mandarin, which made Johnny assume that the guests were the chinese members.

“Tennie, where is Kunnie? Isn't he coming?” Johnny couldn't see him, but just from the tone of his leader's voice, he knew he was pouting.

“Oh, don't make that face, Yongie!” Ten said entering 127's new apartment, being followed by five other boys from his group, Johnny waved to them and gave Ten a hug.

“So he's not coming?” Taeyong insisted.

Anyone else would see Taeyong's concern to know where the other leader was, but Johnny had known Lee for a long time and knew his friend's intentions were different — that and Taeyong's mischievous smile in his direction when mentioned Kun.

“Don't worry, Taeyong-hyung!” Lucas said, “Kun-ge just had to come home first, he was in the studio and wanted to take a shower before coming here.”

“I bet he wanted to make sure Yangyang left food for Leon and Louis," Sicheng teased.

“Gege! I left them both well fed!”

“You've forgotten before,” Xiaojun pointed out, feigning innocence, but his smirk surrendering his intentions.

Johnny just laughed. He's never had much time before to approach the china-line, and although they don't behave all that differently from members of his own group, there was something good about just watching them from afar.

Here's the thing, Johnny might be, just maybe, a little (a lot) in love with Kun. His “little” crush started when they shared a room together in Osaka. Back then, Johnny believed it was just a passing crush that disappears soon. It wouldn't be the first time something like this happened, blame all that nonsense about don’t dating, crazy hormones while only having as company several pretty boys.

Except it wasn't.

A few months passed and Johnny could still feel the heat from Kun's body when he asked — shy, low voice and blushing madly —, if it was okay if they slept in the same bed that night. Now, if not for Kun's anxious tone, Johnny would've accepted his request anyway because the pink hue on the chinese boy's cheeks made him even more adorable, and Johnny is just a man. He's weak to cute things.

Years later and Johnny was still stuck in that same memory of Osaka, and desperately even more in love with Kun. He was still too cute for Johnny's poor heart to take, but other layers of his personality added to that.

“It's Kung-ge!” Jaehyun announced happily as he opened the door, entering the room and being followed by a boy who mirrored his deep dimples.

Johnny was afraid that his heart was beating too fast and loud, and that everyone in the room would hear as Kun came up to him and greeted him with a soft, “Good night, Johnny-hyung.”

They're older now, but few things have really changed. They were not so strange, they created a true friendship since Osaka. Kun was still cute, but had found his sexier side — too much for Johnny's poor heart —, and Johnny was still pining against him.

The party went as expected with 23 boys, half or fully drunk and very noisy. Johnny enjoyed the moment, drank, sang, had small talks with his friends, but everyone could tell he made a bigger effort not to let Kun off his radar for too long.

Unfortunately ( or not that much ), everyone included Yuta and Taeyong. Johnny thinks he'll regret every day of his life for telling them about his feelings for Kun, because his traitorous friends, in addition to teasing him here and there, used every little opportunity they had to keep the two together.

And yes, that applied to planning some sort of sleepover, inviting Kun and the others to stay the night and quite “ coincidentally ” getting Kun and Johnny in the same room again.

In Johnny's room.

Where there was only,

“Oh, there's only one bed.”

“Hope it's not a problem,” Johnny added nervously “We all have separate rooms now, and I didn't mind buying an extra-”

A giggle interrupted Johnny's babble, soft as everything in Kun was, “Hyung, it's okay. We've slept together before, haven't we?”

“Yeah. B-but, it was a while ago…”

They fell into an awkward silence, but not completely uncomfortable. It was strange for Johnny to be this close to Kun. It soothed while disturbing every part of his body.

Maybe Johnny was really a bit of an idiot for not noticing that Kun felt the same way when he was around him, not noticing the easy smiles Kun gave him, the touches, the way Kun started wearing more sweaters and cardigans too big on him because he knew Johnny found them cute.

Johnny lay down first, and in a brave moment, he opened his arms to Kun and asked, “Do you still like cuddling to sleep?”

The smile Kun gives, and his hurry to join the bed, being inside Johnny hug, was all the answer he needed.

“I missed this, hyung”

“Yeah?”

“Yes... it was hard to sleep alone after that night,” Johnny swallowed, but Kun hadn't yet finished, “It was like, the best night's sleep I've had for a long time.”

The youngest bit his lip after letting that confession out, closing his eyes, afraid of Johnny's reaction. Afraid that Ten wasn't serious about the older returning his feelings too.

When the silence persisted, Kun was about to pull away but was stopped by Johnny's tight grip on his waist and back, keeping him within his embrace, cradled in his warmth.

“I missed it too," Johnny whispered. “Gosh, I missed you here so much, Kunnie.”

“I'm here now”

“And you're not leaving, right?”

“And I'm not leaving.”
