Work Text:

Byun Baekhyun dropped his face flat into the desk in front of him with a loud whine. Sitting across from him was none other than Do Kyungsoo, his beloved childhood friend, who didn’t even budge from the book he was holding. Baekhyun huffed, not getting the attention he wanted, so naturally, he let out another louder, more obnoxious whine.

“Baekhyun, seriously, this is a library.” Kyungsoo hissed. “Will you shut up already?”

“But I’m heartbroken.” Baekhyun let out another whine. “And you don’t even care!”

“I really don’t.” Kyungsoo responded without even looking up from his book. “Get over it.”

Baekhyun just stuck out his tongue at him. Kyungsoo wouldn’t understand. Baekhyun had been crushing on Kim Jongdae for months now, ever since that one fateful moment during their house’s casual game night. Baekhyun would never forget how Jongdae’s wittiness had rendered Baekhyun speechless. HimByun Baekhyun—the guy who always has the last word. He was mesmerized. Since then, Baekhyun had been trying his best to get the Gryffindor’s seeker attention to no avail.

“He’s avoiding me.” Baekhyun sighed miserably. “How am I supposed to make him fall for me if he won’t even talk to me?”

“After all the stunts you pulled this past month? I’d say he made the right call.” Kyungsoo deadpanned.

Baekhyun gave him an offended look. “What did I even do?!”

“You made his robe glow for the whole week.”

“He deserves to be the center of attention!”

“You sent him a howler filled with dirty jokes.”

“I wanted to cheer him up!”

“You charmed his hair gel.”

“His hair looks sexy pushed back!”

God, you’re insufferable.” Kyungsoo rolled his eyes. “I’m surprised Jongdae hasn’t filed a restraining order against you yet.”

“You’re so mean.” Baekhyun huffed. “How come you get guys throwing themselves at your feet when you’re such an ass?”

Kyungsoo let out an awkward cough, then immediately turned his face away, but he couldn’t really hide his ears that were now beet red. “Anyway, enough already. Let’s get this over with. We’ll be late for Chanyeol’s practice.”

Park Chanyeol is another one of Baekhyun’s childhood friends, but instead of a Gryffindor like Baekhyun nor a Ravenclaw like Kyungsoo, Chanyeol found himself being a part of the Slytherin House. Baekhyun always thought it’s funny, how the three of them ended up in different houses despite spending most of their lives together. But of course, despite all that, their friendship stayed strong, they still spend their breaks and weekends together.

Even now, Baekhyun and Kyungsoo sat quietly on the side of the field as the Slytherin quidditch team practiced. They were wary of them at first, especially of Baekhyun since he’s a Gryffindor, but Chanyeol managed to convince his team that both Baekhyun and Kyungsoo had 0 interest in quidditch, and were only there to be his support system.

Chanyeol was the Slytherin’s seeker (Just like Jongdae~♥), so unlike the others, he was usually on the side practicing by himself with the snitch. Baekhyun watched as Chanyeol rode his broom around, going up and down and around to follow the snitch. Next to him, Kyungsoo was busy with his books as usual, softly murmuring some chants to himself as practice.

“HYUNG!”

A sudden voice alerted him, Baekhyun looked up to see Oh Sehun, one of Chanyeol’s Slytherin underclassmen, running towards their direction with panic on his face.

But it was too late, both him and Kyungsoo had failed to notice the real danger coming their way: Chanyeol going full speed on his broom with no sign of stopping. Fortunately, Baekhyun’s quick reflexes saved him at the last second and threw his body to the side of the bench, but poor Kyungsoo who had his full attention to his book wasn’t as lucky.

Baekhyun landed softly on the ground beside the bench as Chanyeol (and his broom) crashed directly into Kyungsoo, sending them both toppling back to the ground behind the bench.

“Shit, Kyungsoo.” Chanyeol asked in a panicked voice, slowly lifting his weight from Kyungsoo. “Are you okay? I’m so sor—”

“It’s fine. I’m fine.” Kyungsoo groaned from under Chanyeol, he looked up only to find his face just inches from Chanyeol’s concerned one. Kyungsoo turned his head back down immediately, ears reddening for the second time that day. “Do you… mind getting off me though?”

“Huh? O—oh, right.” Chanyeol stuttered out, his face equally red. He tried to lift one of his legs, only to realize it was tangled with Kyungsoo’s school robe, Chanyeol lost his balance and fell flat into his smaller friend again.

Baekhyun stared at his two childhood friends as they awkwardly tried to entangle themselves from each other. Sehun had come to their aid immediately, helping the two get back on his feet. Both Slytherins were fussing over Kyungsoo now, whose ears were still red as ever and avoiding Chanyeol’s eyes.

Then something hit him.

“Oh my God.” Baekhyun gasped. “Chanyeol, you’re a genius .”

“I—Huh?”

“I need to prepare something right the fuck now.” Baekhyun immediately jumped to his feet and ran away, leaving the three stunned in his absence.

Kim Jongdae felt restless as he walked down the corridor with his teammates. It was the Griffindor’s turn to use the field for quidditch practice. The weather was nice today, he thought. There wasn’t much happening lately, Jongdae was able to appreciate a peaceful couple of weeks.

Perhaps, too peaceful.

Jongdae’s days hadn’t been peaceful ever since he was acquainted with Byun Baekhyun at the beginning of the year. For some reason, after that one banter they had during one of Gryffindor’s game night, Baekhyun had made Jongdae the target of his torments. Every other week, Baekhyun would find a way to pester him and embarrass him in public. He really didn’t understand what he even did wrong to deserve it. Eventually, Jongdae just decided to avoid the boy like the plague.

“Are you alright, hyung? You look stressed.”

That snapped him out of his thoughts immediately, Jongdae looked to his side and found Kim Jongin, his Gryffindor underclassman and fellow quidditch teammate. That’s right, they were on their way to the field.

“No, I’m good. Sorry. I spaced out a bit.”

They reached the field in no time and their captain called for practice to start immediately. Jongdae is a seeker, so he usually separated himself with the snitch alone away from the others. He opened the hatch for the small box to let their practice snitch free, and Jongdae hopped on his broom immediately.

Everything was going well, Jongdae thought, he was able to find the snitch quickly and chased him around the field consistently. But then, the snitch started to move around frantically, before taking an unexpected sharp turn towards the ground. Confused, but not one to back down from a challenge, Jongdae arched his body forward and followed the snitch diligently.

The snitch started to descend slowly, moving way too close to the ground and crowd to Jongdae’s liking. Okay, enough practice now. He needed to catch it quickly before he lost it for good, or worse, someone from another house found out he had failed to catch a snitch during practice. Jongdae tunnel visioned on the snitch and the snitch only, ignoring all the distractions around him.

Which turned out to be his first mistake.

The good news was, Jongdae’s hand managed to catch the snitch at the last minute before it swerved upward to escape. The bad news was, he had failed to realize there was an unsuspecting bystander in front of him, that was he was about to mercilessly crash into.

Jongdae could only brace for impact as he crashed headfirst into the innocent person, the both of them tumbled down onto the path next to the field.

“Oh God. I’m so sorry.” Jongdae prepped himself up immediately, not wanting to crush the person he just accidentally pummelled. “Are you ok—”

Jongdae froze.

Because the person he just crashed into was no other than Byun Baekhyun, the very person he had tried to avoid for the past few months. Jongdae stared at him in horror as he scrambled to his feet immediately, taking a few steps back from Baekhyun who was still on the ground.

But Baekhyun just grinned at him, looking uncharacteristically cheery for someone who just got bodied. “No worries.” Baekhyun paused for a moment, then tilted his head to the side. “Well? Aren’t you gonna help me up?”

Jongdae fought back the urge to roll his eyes and walk away, but he knew he was the one at fault this time. He let out a defeated sigh and offered his hand to Baekhyun, who gladly took it and pulled himself up. “That was some intense training.” Baekhyun commented as he cleaned himself up.

“Yeah, sorry, the snitch was acting weird today.” Jongdae lifted his hand up, still clutching the small ball in it. “Looks like it calmed down though.”

“Oh? So it was you? I should say thank you then.”

Jongdae raised an eyebrow as Baekhyun bent forward, lowering himself to level with the snitch on Jongdae’s hand. “Thank you, lil buddy! Thanks to you I got to talk with Jongdae today!”

That definitely caught Jongdae off guard, his face felt warmer all of the sudden. “Wh—whatever. Anyway, I need to get back to practice.” He sputtered out. “Sorry, again.”

“Nah, it’s fine. I’ll see you around, then?”

“Yeah, no.” Jongdae hopped back on his broom. “Bye.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

As his intel (aka Jongin) had informed him, the Gryffindor quidditch team will have another practice today. So, naturally, Baekhyun had gussied up for another inevitable encounter with Jongdae today. This time, he had picked some place less crowded and more open. So there he was, sitting by the edge of the fountain, feets dangling as he waited for his prince.

As he waited, Baekhyun wondered, what should he say today? What would impress Jongdae?

After a while, he could hear some small swooshing of air to his left, he turned to see the little ball of snitch flying by his ear. Perfect. He jumped to his feet and twirled as the snitch circled around him.

Like clockwork, Jongdae followed not long after, his face sour as he slowed down to approach him. Baekhyun held back a smirk.

“Whoa—hey!” Baekhyun exclaimed. “Hello, lil buddy, what’s all this?” He asked as he still tried to follow the snitch’s movement.

“That’s mine.” He heard Jongdae announce with a pout on his face. Cute .

“Huh? Oh! Hey, Jongdae!” Baekhyun stopped moving and turned to the seeker in front of him. “Didn’t think I’d see you this soon!” He showed off his best smile. “Practicing again?”

“Yeah.”

“Lil buddy here seemed to be in a good mood, huh?” Baekhyun let out a chuckle in an attempt to lift the mood, the snitch still circling around him. “I think it likes me!”

“It’s a ball.” Jongdae scoffed.

“A ball with great taste, clearly!” Baekhyun flipped his hair for the extra charm.

Jongdae rolled his eyes, then made one swift motion to catch the snitch as it flew over Baekhyun’s head. “What are you even doing here, Baekhyun? Are you following me?”

“It’s a public place?? I can be wherever I want??” Baekhyun gave him his best offended look. He paused for a moment before his lips curved up into a smirk. “It’s not my fault your ball likes me.”

Nailed it.

“Oh my god, shut the fuck up.” Jongdae groaned as he covered his face with his free hand. “Whatever. I don’t have time for this.”

“Alright, see you soon!”

“No.”

Baekhyun watched as Jongdae hopped back onto his broom and flew away.

Yeah, that went well.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

There wasn’t any practice scheduled today, but Jongdae decided to take the snitch out for another training anyway. The match was coming up, and he hadn’t been able to practice properly these past few days. This time, he picked a more secluded place, an empty spot behind the school near the greenhouse area. He really didn’t want any disruptions today.

Wasting no time, Jongdae released the snitch and hopped on his broom. Everything was going well, Jongdae thought; the plants around the greenhouse served as great obstacles for him to practice with. The snitch was acting fairly normal today, which Jongdae was also glad for. But then, after a while, Jongdae was beginning to realize that the snitch has been slowly ascending with every lap. Jongdae didn’t really mind, as long as he was still away from the crowd. But the snitch had started to pick up speed, and Jongdae figured it was time to wrap up.

Unfortunately, the snitch had other plans, it swerved upward and bolted towards the school building.

“Shit.”

Jongdae arched forward and followed suit. It was getting colder as he ascended, and the air was getting thinner, he really needed to get this over with stat . It was pretty foggy, but Jongdae could see one of the school towers in the distance. He picked up his speed and tried to focus on the snitch instead, and thankfully, he managed to catch the snitch before it flew inside the tower—which turned out to be the owlery.

Jongdae sighed in relief, holding the snitch tightly in his hand. But his celebration was cut short as he heard a familiar voice coming from the owlery.

“You have got to be kidding me.” Jongdae groaned as watched the one and only Byun Baekhyun stepped out of the owlery.

Baekhyun turned to him and flashed him his usual cheeky grin. “Well, well, what a surprise!” He sing-sang.

“What the fuck do you want, Byun Baekhyun.”

“I was here first?? You’re the one who came up here?”

“I was—The snitch—” Jongdae tried to explain, but then he decided that it probably wouldn’t help and sighed in defeat. “This is the third time. Is this your doing?”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Baekhyun hummed, his smile turned into a mischievous grin. “But hey, since you're here, come down for a bit.”

“No.”

“Come on, you caught the snitch already anyway.” Baekhyun gestured to his hand. “There’s no harm!”

Jongdae contemplated his decision for a moment. He didn’t have to listen to Baekhyun, there was really nothing stopping him to just turn around and fly away with his broom. But something was stopping him for some reason.

Maybe he could try to dig up into Baekhyun’s motivations.

Jongdae sighed and carefully climbed down from his broom. In front of him, Baekhyun’s smile widened.

“Wow, I didn’t think you’d actually do it.”

“I just want to take a small break. Flying too high at high speed isn’t good for your lungs after all.”

“See, that’s why I never wanted to be a quidditch player. My lungs are too precious for me.”

“I’m pretty sure that applies to literally everyone.”

“Well, duh.” Baekhyun rolled his eyes. “But it’s more important for me ‘cause I need them to belt out killer notes!”

Jongdae’s head perked up in interest. “Oh, you sing?”

“Yeah? I’m part of the school choir, don’t you realize?”

Jongdae shrugged.

Baekhyun let out the most dramatic gasp. “Oh, I’m shocked. Offended. Wounded.” He exclaimed. “I can’t believe I haven’t been recognized, even after all that effort.” He shook his head in disappointment, before immediately facing Jondae again with his usual grin. “Welp! I guess I just have to work harder!”

Jongdae’s lips curved up into a small smile involuntarily, but he immediately regained himself back into a straight face. He was starting to realize how contagious Baekhyun’s smile was, so he changed the subject quickly.

“Anyway, what are you even doing up here by yourself?”

“Oh, I just wanted to send some letters to my family back home.” Baekhyun responded. “But I do like coming here sometimes, just to sing. I get a lot of complaints when I sing at the dorms.”

“That was you?!” Jongdae exclaimed.

There was a period of time when a loud singing filled the Gryffindor dormitory. During mornings, afternoons, even late at nights sometimes. His friends had talked and complained about it multiple times. But Jongdae didn’t mind, if he was honest, he actually preferred the beautiful singing over the silence. He remembered being disappointed when the singing stopped.

“You have a nice voice.”

Jongdae froze.

He definitely didn’t mean to say that last part out loud.

But it was too late, in front of him, Baekhyun’s smile already outshined the gloomy sky.

“You think—”

“I—I have to go.” Jongdae stuttered out as he clumsily tried to climb on his broom again. “That’s enough rest already, I need to—to go back to practice.”

“Wait—”

Jongdae could hear Baekhyun’s voice calling for him from afar and continued to speed up, the wind on his face didn’t feel so cold anymore for some reason.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Finally, it was the day for the match. Baekhyun used to not like watching these matches; one, because he didn’t really care much about quidditch, and two, because he couldn’t really sit with his best friends to watch them. But Baekhyun was in a good mood today, he should feel nervous, but he felt weirdly confident instead. If everything went well, then Baekhyun would have more than one thing to celebrate today.

Baekhyun heard the announcer call the names of the playing teams today and loud cheers filled the air. Baekhyun looked up and scanned the bunch of players slowly filling the field. He found Jongdae easily, looking focused as ever. Ah, so handsome . The referee blew the whistle to signal the start of the match, the crowd cheered again as the players on the field fought for the balls.

Time to get his plan into motion, it was easy for Baekhyun to snuck away from the crowd, as everyone's attention was on the match. For once, he was thankful he wasn’t next to Kyungsoo, who would definitely notice his absence. He successfully made his way down the stands. Once he reached the bottom, he looked around to find a safe spot to wait, some place hidden, but not too cramped. He found the perfect spot between the stairs and the entrance.

Then, he fixed his hair, and waited.

As if on a cue, he turned his head to see that the snitch had found him yet again. He raised his hand to play with the small ball and started counting backwards.

3… 2… 1…

“YOU!”

He heard a loud, familiar voice call out to him from afar, Baekhyun smiled. Just like the snitch, Jongdae had also found him.

“You charmed the snitch.” Jongdae panted out.

“I did.” Baekhyun announced proudly. “I’ve been doing that the whole week, actually.”

“Are you out of your mind?!”

“Maybe, but desperate times call for desperate measures.” Baekhyun simply answered, unfazed. “You were avoiding me.”

Jongdae buried his face in his hands and groaned. “That’s the reason you’ve been doing this?” He asked tiredly. “What exactly do you want from me, Baekhyun?”

“A date.”

Jongdae froze.

“Just go on a single date with me, give me one chance.” Baekhyun continued calmly, determined. “Then, I won’t bother you anymore, if that’s what you want.” He raised both arms, then gave Jongdae his most charming grin. “Though I can’t promise you won’t fall for me. I’m pretty irresistible.”

Jongdae just continued to stare at him in disbelief, probably still trying to process Baekhyun’s proposition.

“You—” Jongdae finally said. “You’ve been pestering me all this time because you like me? Are you five?”

“Hey! Don’t judge my flirting technique, I have my friends for that."

“You’re insane, Byun Baekhyun.”

“I hear that a lot.” Baekhyun beamed proudly. “So, what do you say? People are gonna start looking for you soon.”

Jongdae pondered for a moment, carefully weighing his options. Baekhyun waited patiently.

“If I say yes, will you remove the charm from the snitch?”

“Already done.”

Jongdae sighed.

“Fine.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hogsmead was pretty chilly this time of year, even though it was not even nearing winter yet. The streets were filled with people, mostly students who were on their weekend outing. Jongdae quivered in his clothes a bit, wishing he had worn something warmer. He looked up to the sky above them, it looked pretty cloudy, he hoped it wouldn’t rain soon.

Next to him, Baekhyun skipped his way through the crowd with a huge smile, looking unbothered by the cold wind as he hummed a cheery tune. Jongdae couldn’t help but smile in amusement.

“So,” Jongdae asked the giddy boy next to him. “Where are you taking me?”

“I know a small cafe around here, it's not on the main boulevard so not a lot of people know about it.” Baekhyun answered happily. “I assume you don’t want attention, right?”

“Right.”

The two boys eventually reached the place Baekhyun mentioned. It was not too far from the plaza, but it was located at the edge of the town. Baekhyun cheerfully greeted the owner behind the counter as they entered the place. He must’ve come here a lot, Jongdae assumed. The cafe itself was small, but cozy, it gave Jongdae a sense of comfort. Baekhyun led Jongdae further inside to a spot at the back of the cafe, right next to the big window that gave them the perfect view of the Hogsmead fields.

“Oh, wow.”

“Great, huh? That’s why I like it here.” Baekhyun beamed. “Anyway, what do you want? It’s getting cold, so something warm?”

“Oh, yeah, hot coffee is fine.”

Baekhyun nodded and told Jongdae to wait before going back to the counter to place their orders. Jongdae watched as Baekhyun happily talked to the shop owner.

Now that he was alone, Jongdae was left to contemplate the situation he was in right now. Why did he agree to this? He didn’t have to. It wasn’t like Baekhyun blackmailed him into anything. He was not forced to say yes. He could’ve easily just declined and walked (well, flew) away from Baekhyun’s invitation and continued to avoid him like he did for the past few months.

And yet, when he looked into those determined eyes and unwavering smile under the stands that day, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.

So here he was.

“Here you go!”

Jongdae jumped, Baekhyun’s voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

“They have the most delicious pastries here, I didn’t know what you wanted so I got some options!” Baekhyun said as he put the small plates on their table. “Something sweet? Savory? Or even if you’re a weirdo who’s into sour things, I got them all!”

Jongdae let out a small chuckle at Baekhyun’s antics.

Baekhyun blinked at him, looking surprised. “You’re laughing, that’s good, right?”

Jongdae didn’t answer. He had to admit it was pretty hard to resist Baekhyun’s positive energy. So he just shrugged teasingly at him before reaching for the beef puffs on one of the plates.

“Oh, phew!” Baekhyun exclaimed. “I was hoping you would take the beef puffs. Cause I don’t actually want to give this one up. I love strawberries~” He took the plate of strawberry cake for himself and flashed Jongdae a bubbly grin. “See? We complete each other!”

Jongdae just threw him an amused look. “I’m just hungry, that’s why I took the beef puffs.”

“Still!”

“What if I had picked the strawberry cake? You’ll get mad?”

“Hell, no!” Baekhyun answered without missing a beat. “Then we have similar taste! We’re compatible!”

Jongdae swore his sense of humor had suddenly plummeted down ever since he stepped foot in this small cafe, cause it was practically impossible to hold back a laugh now. Jongdae cursed at himself, was he really this weak to dumb, cheesy liners?

Or was it just Baekhyun?

In front of him, Baekhyun continued to hum happily as he stuffed some strawberries in his mouth. Seeing Baekhyun enjoying himself, Jongdae decided to finally relax and enjoy his food as well.

The shop owner came not long after to serve their drinks; a hot barley tea for Baekhyun, and a hot coffee for Jongdae.

“Enjoy!” She said cheerfully. She then turned to Jongdae, seemingly inspecting his face. “Oh, I haven’t seen you before!”

“Oh, this is Jongdae!” Baekhyun answered giddily. “He’s my date today!”

“Oh, my! So handsome!” She giggled. “I’ll leave you to it then, you kids have fun!”

The two boys gave her their thanks and waved her goodbye. Once she was gone, Jongdae then turned to Baekhyun.

“So, you come here often?”

Baekhyun snorted. “Was that a pick up line?”

“You wish. I’m way above that.” Jongdae responded wittily. “The owner seems to know you well.”

“Oh, yeah! My friends and I come here all the time.” Baekhyun answered. “I mean, it’s a nice place and the food is good, what’s not to like?” He grinned. “They also let me sing here sometimes!”

Jongdae just hummed in response. But Baekhyun was silent for a while, when Jongdae looked back up at him, he had a mischievous grin plastered on his face.

“Oh no, don’t even—”

But it was too late, Baekhyun was already on his feet and skipping away to the counter to talk to the shop owner, who smiled immediately and took out her wand to charm the small stage. The instruments on the stage perked up, Baekhyun jumped onto the stage as a funky tune filled the small shop.

Honey, are you still wondering?

Right, you are careful picking out sugar, spice, uh

I respect that appetite, yeah

Baekhyun’s voice echoed across the shop. His voice was as beautiful and clear as Jongdae remembered. Baekhyun swayed his body to the beat confidently, looking right at Jongdae as he continued singing.

This subtle tension I don't mind at all, any time, no limits

I want to give you something, something original

I've waited a moment for you to choose me, yeah, yeah

I'll become something special, so you'd come to me, yeah

Even someone picky as you will be addicted to me, yeah

More people had started to come into the shop, probably lured in by Baekhyun’s voice. Jongdae hid his face in his hands, he couldn’t handle this. He felt warm, he didn’t know what to do with his face, nor his body. But he built enough courage to peek at Baekhyun from between his fingers, and saw the charming smile Baekhyun flashed at him from the stage.

Boy I'm your candy, special chemistry

Mature cinnamon, dorky mint, what more do you want?

Got me feeling like pop rocks, strawberry, bubble gum

When the pocket is full of scent, all I want is you my love, candy

You will feel better, tell me what you're waiting for

The song ended and the crowd went wild, giving Baekhyun rounds of applause and even some appreciative whistles. Baekhyun gave everyone some grateful bows and waves as he made his way back to Jongdae at the back of the cafe.

“So, what do you think?” Baekhyun asked as he reached their table. “Did you like it? I’m pretty great, right?”

Jongdae shook his head. “You’re so embarrassing.”

Baekhyun just blinked at him, then tilted his head to the side. “But you’re smiling.” He pointed out with a grin. “So you like it.”

Yeah, I do. Jongdae thought, finally admitting defeat.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Months has passed since the last quidditch match, and now a large crowd of students made their way back to the quidditch field yet again for another match that year. Baekhyun yawned as he walked beside his grumpy best friend. If it hadn't been for the fact that Jongdae wasn’t playing today, he probably would have tried to skip watching the match.

“I still can’t believe you actually managed to get Jongdae to like you.” Kyungsoo commented next to him. “After all the shit you pulled.”

Baekhyun shrugged. “I told you, all I need is a good plan.” He answered smugly. “No one can resist my charms.”

Kyungsoo rolled his eyes, then bid Baekhyun goodbye to join the other Ravenclaw students on their stands.

Baekhyun reached the top of the stands right on time as the players entered the field. He found Jongdae immediately—who, this time, also found him in the crowds and gave him an acknowledging wave. Baekhyun waved back happily, ending it with a blowing kiss to wish him luck for the match.

The match started not long after and Baekhyun tried his best to keep his eyes on Jongdae, but it was pretty hard as he kept flying mostly way above the field where most of the players were. Suddenly, Jongdae took a sharp turn downwards, he kept going until he was out of sight under the spectator’s bleachers. Baekhyun frowned, it’d be another challenge to find him again.

All of the sudden, Baekhyun heard a familiar small swooshing between next to his ear. Baekhyun flinched and turned in surprise.

The golden snitch.

And the next second, Jongdae was right in front of him.

Baekhyun stared at him in horror. “Wait, I—I didn’t—”

“I know.”

The seeker made one swift move to catch the small ball next to Baekhyun’s face.

“I did.”

He gave Baekhyun a mischievous wink before raising his palm to show off the snitch to the crowd and claim his victory.

If this gave you diabetes, that was the intention LOL
