Chapter Text
“Hey Zakuro, have you seen Qu?” I asked the Kitsune of Team C.
The singer turned towards me from where he sat and gave me a sly smirk. “Finally going to confess your love for the lovely Qu?”
I knew I had to say my next words carefully, lest the singer before me would use them to tease me for the foreseeable future. “Of course not. I already have.”
This caused his jaw to drop for a moment and I gave him my own smirk. “Just as I have all of the other members. Even you.”
He pressed his lips together and I felt a trill of victory shoot through me. It wasn’t often that Zakuro didn’t have some kind of rebuttal or comment. Even as I left him in the break area with his can of tea, he had yet to say a word.
I spent the next while searching for Qu, clenching the wrapped box in my hands with wavering nerves, asking various cast members if they had seen him. It was odd for no one to have seen him - he was certainly hard to miss. I started to worry when I continued having no luck. Had he not come in today? Was he at home, sick?
When I was about to give up and go to his apartment to check on him, I found Qu carrying a box out of one of the last storage rooms I hadn’t checked.
“Qu!”
His head snapped towards me when he heard me call his name and a beatific smile bloomed on his face. “Hello, sweetheart. What brings you all the way back here?”
I eagerly hold out the paper-wrapped box that I had been gripping so tightly, waiting with baited breath for him to take it.
“What’s this?” Qu’s perfectly sculpted eyebrows raised in surprise as he placed the box in his arms onto the nearest surface. He carefully lifted the smaller package from my hands and turned it over once before looking at me.
“It’s a Christmas present, Qu! I wasn’t sure what to get you, but when I saw this, I thought you would like it.”
Qu took the gift over to a seat nearby and sat, gracefully crossing one leg over another as he began pulling at the edges of the paper. I gripped my hands to my chest while I waited with baited breath for him to reveal what I’d given him.
A soft, affectionate look formed on his face when he saw the contents.
“What a pretty snow globe,” he said as he turned the globe over in his hands. He paused when he turned it to the opposite side and saw a picture that had been placed inside. His smile grew. “This is from our shopping trip last winter, isn’t it?”
“It’s one of my favorite of you and I. Since it was snowing that day, too, I thought it was a cute idea to put it in a snow globe.”
Qu stood up and crossed the two feet that separated us, enveloping me in a warm hug. “I love it, thank you sweetheart.”
