Here's my stories for Naegiri Week 2021!!

Chapter 1: Day One: Night

Chapter Text

   Day One: Night

The thick blanket of stars dotted the dark sky, as a singular, mostly normal man lay beneath them. He let out a soft sigh, releasing every negative emotion he'd had that day. He was the headmaster of the esteemed Hope's Peak Academy. Which naturally, was an extremely demanding career to have. Though of course, he had his beautiful, wonderful wife working alongside him as the Vice Headmistress. Makoto couldn't ask for anyone better to spend his home and work life with.

 "Stargazing again, Makoto?"

The seemingly normal man looked up at the voice of his wife; Kyoko Kirigiri, the former Ultimate Detective.

The way the moon's light reflected off of her pale skin made her almost glow. She was beautiful...

"Yes, actually. It helps me distress." Makoto explained, scratching his cheek sheepishly with one finger, before patting the patch of grass beside him. "Join me."

The lavender-haired woman gave him a puzzled glance with her purple eyes. "Shouldn't we be grading those exams? And figuring out what to do with that student who is on the verge of being expelled--" She was cut off by another sigh from her husband.

"Kiri...don't mention it." Makoto looked down in shame.

"Well, it isn't your fault that Teramoto decided to disrespect the very rules and regulations that our school stands for." Kyoko retorted, thinking about the disobedient student who was sent to Makoto's office for misbehaving for weeks in a row. Was there any way to get her to respect the school's set rules?

"I know. I know." Makoto repeated, waving a hand slightly in dismissal. "I just...don't want to think about Teramoto right now." He admitted. "I feel like...if I couldn't make her behave after weeks, maybe I'm not fit to be a headmaster after all." The former lucky student voiced his worries, finally. While the stars aided in his recovery, they could do naught but twinkle brightly. They were no replacement for the sheer comfort of his wife.

The grass beside Makoto was disturbed as Kyoko hunkered down next to him with a pleased sound. "Don't be ridiculous, dear." She placed a hand on his chest comfortingly, tracing soft and short patterns against him with one gloved finger. "I understand your worries. But sometimes, students simply act of their own accord."

Makoto sighed softly as her ministrations calmed him a tad bit. "Thank you, Kiri. I wish I could be more like you..."

"Don't say that." Kyoko gave him a soft glare. It wasn't nearly as fierce as her Kirigiri glares. But she was clearly disappointed that he was still self-deprecating after her comforts. "And besides..." She continued, rolling them both over so that she was positioned on top of the lucky man.

"Even if you weren't the world's greatest headmaster, you certainly are the Ultimate Husband." She purred out, leaning down so that her lips met his neck.

Giggles erupted from Makoto's mouth as her lips teasingly went over his skin. "Kyoko...you're so bad at...a-ah--being cheesy." He commented through the gentle gasps he was letting out, as he exposed more of his neck for the lavender-haired woman to give attention to.

Kyoko just rolled her eyes a little. Those same eyes glinted teasingly in the starlight.

"And you love me for it..." She gave an innocent look, as she fiddled with one of the golden buttons on his shirt, before it came unclasped before her.

Makoto's breath quickened in anticipation, giving her a loving look, as he allowed her to expose his chest to the cool night air. He knew things such as this should really be done inside but...Why waste an opportunity to make this beautiful night even more beautiful?

With that thought, he pulled Kyoko closer to him, the sight of the stars completely blotted out by her form at this point, as the brunet allowed their bodies to become one in the most intimate of ways, in that little private garden where Makoto usually spent stargazing.

The night enveloped the two lovers as they engaged in the dance burning with desire and affection. And they could see nothing other than each other.

Chapter 2: Day Two: Little Things

Chapter Text

  Day Two: Little Things

There Makoto was, still grading papers. After the midnight stargazing session he'd had with his wife, he was behind on grading papers for the students of Hope's Peak. God, what kind of Headmaster was he if he got stressed over a few papers of all things. He was sure that the former headmaster, Jin Kirigiri had never had these sorts of problems. After all, he seemed to know how to do his job quite well.

Meanwhile, Makoto couldn't stop being enamored by Kyoko for long enough to mark a few papers with some red pen.

Speaking of Kyoko, that day she'd made him cookies. Very, very sweet smelling cookies with pink frosting and sprinkles to top them off. As he took one into his mouth, he let the flavor flow over his taste buds. The former lucky student could almost taste the love that his beloved detective had put into them. The kind of love that was only reserved for him.

Crunching on the delectable dessert again, the headmaster turned back toward the paper he was grading. Of course, it had to be the paper of Nobuko Teramoto, the rebellious student of Hope's Peak. Not even intense scolding from the Vice Headmistress could get that girl to behave.

Ah yes, Kyoko's voice. To the students and faculty of Hope's Peak, it may sound strict and flat. But Makoto had heard it when it was soft and melodious, as his wife spoke sweetly only for his ears. Another little thing simply reserved for him.

His heart fluttered at the thought.

Closed off, seemingly emotionless Kyoko Kirigiri had decided to marry him, to give herself to him, to show him just how perfect and loveable she could be behind closed doors. And Makoto didn't feel even the least bit ready to give her all she deserved, despite the two having been married for two years already.

Speak of the lavender-haired devil, Makoto felt slender arms wrap around his shoulders, as the scent of wildflowers filled his nose. Another little thing he enjoyed. The scent of his beloved's hair after a well deserved relaxing shower.

"Hi..." He turned around, to face her as she pulled him into a soft kiss. He was love struck and dumbfounded and his heart was pounding a million miles a minute as he took in the taste of his love. She had the lingering taste of cookies on her lips, as she'd sampled them after baking them. The brunet melted into her gentle touch, and could feel nothing else but the soft stroking the two of them engaged in.

It was the little things that made that kiss spectacular. And Makoto never wanted it to end.

Chapter 3: Day Three: Storm

Chapter Text

   Day Three: Storm

"I'm glad I finally got those papers graded in time. I know Toko would have given me an earful if I didn't hand out her classes finished results soon." Makoto commented to the Vice Headmistress, as he sat at his desk, his feet resting carelessly on top of it in a position of relaxation and relief.

"Makoto...Maybe you shouldn't be putting your shoes up there." Kyoko suggested, though there was mostly amusement in her tone more than frustration. "It's been raining since we got here and I'm sure they're soaked. "Look. You're dripping water all over the other papers!" She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as she gently shoved her husband's feet off of his own desk.

The headmaster rolled his eyes a little and laughed. "Alright, Kiri! Whatever you say!" The tone he used got him a playfully frustrated nudge from Kyoko. "Ouch!" He pouted as he felt her elbow hit his side. Though of course, the force wasn't a lot. The brown-haired man ran his hand through said hair. Of course, like everything else, it was soaked to the brim with rain. He had to practically chase Nobuko Teramoto across the campus in the rain since she'd stolen another student's lunch. And of course, he didn't have time to just run inside and get an umbrella.

Meanwhile, Kyoko wasn't as wet. She mostly served as a way to calm down the crying student who's lunch had been stolen, and of course, scolding Nobuko in her office when the whole chasing ordeal was over and done with. "Why don't you go dry off and we can cuddle, Makoto." She suggested. "I could...warm you up if you want." She came closer to his face, her warm breath hitting his ear tantalizingly. He had to restrain himself from pulling his wife closer to his body.

"Kiri, you know we can't do that here." He shoved her gently. "But I will take up your suggestion of getting dry. I am really cold!" The headmaster complained, before going to walk into his room, the headmaster's living quarters. The secret room had been transformed into a built in bathroom just for him to use in privacy.

The rain still pattered against the windows. Well, patter was the operative word here. It was more like an intense torrential downpour that was trying to break into the room like tiny bullets tapping against the glass. And just as the man stepped into his bathroom, about to disrobe himself, a particularly loud boom of thunder and crackle of lightning stunned him into stillness, as the entire room was plunged into darkness.

"Blackout!" He heard Kyoko curse from the other room. "Makoto, are you alright in there?"

"I'm fine!" He called back. "Just a bit...startled, that's all." Makoto explained, shaking his head to clear it, as he felt the wall to get back to the office. Well, there goes his chance at getting clean and dry!

The brunet continued feeling around, until he grasped his wife's arm, cuddling into her warmth.

"Makoto! You're all wet and cold!" She giggled a bit in protest, though she still let him snuggle against her lovingly, unable to resist his sweet charms. The two of them just stood there like that, two lovers pressed against one another in the pitch black darkness of the room.

Knock! Knock!

"I'll get it." Kyoko sighed, even more disappointed as her husband had to remove himself from her. The former detective tried her best not to trip over any stray things Makoto may have left on the floor out of habit. Though she did end up bumping into a few of the small office tables and chairs.

The lavender-haired woman opened the door gently, which only led into the equally dark hallway.

"Headmaster! Headmistress! I'm scared!" Came a cry from the base of the door.

 It was Nobuko.

"Teramoto, what are you doing outside of your dorm room?" Kyoko questioned, mild frustration for the particular student lacing her voice. "I thought I told you you were confined there until you apologized for stealing Kurihara's lunch." The headmistress tapped her foot against the floor impatiently.

"Why should I apologize? She always gets to eat and it isn't fair!" Nobuko complained, her tone somewhat close to a whine.

Kyoko wasn't exactly sure what she meant. Surely she didn't feel angry that her classmates were eating, did she? "There's plenty of food in the dining hall for everyone. You should have gotten your own." She crossed her arms a little, before pulling Nobuko into the room.

The student didn't speak again, as she took her place inside the room, the loud crackle of the thunder and lightning mixture making her jump. "We can talk about that later! Or...never preferably!" She laughed a little though it was a nervous one. "Can I just stay in here for the night? It's not good to be alone in the dark. And you two have each other...so...."

Kyoko sighed a little. "Alright, Nobuko. We won't neglect a student who is afraid. But you must apologize to Kurihara tomorrow." She held the teenager's hand as she brought the girl back to where Makoto was.

"Never." Nobuko simply said, her tone flat, nearly being drowned out by the sounds of rain once again...

Chapter 4: Day Four: Healing

Chapter Text

  Day Four: Healing

"Makoto, I just don't think...we can do it..."

Makoto frowned at the sight of his wife's tear-stained face. She didn't normally cry, but the few times she did were reserved for his eyes only. After all, the former detective did have emotions that she needed to let out sometimes. She was curled against his chest, her tears seeping through the fabric of his pajamas. Meanwhile, her husband had one hand on her back and the other gently caressing her hair and shushing her.

Another failed attempt at trying for a baby.

The two of them had wanted to start a family of their own since their first year of being married. They were now close to year three of being together and still...no pregnancy. No sign of a little life wanting to make their way into the couple's lives.

"Of course we can. You can't give up hope that easily, Kyoko!" Makoto gave the lavender-haired woman one of his confident stares. Even after all these years, he was still the Ultimate Hope in spirit. The killing games were over but the need for his determination and positive character were still needed in this world. After all, despair didn't only exist in the form of Junko Enoshima and her ridiculous ideals.

Kyoko gave him a saddened glare as she removed her head from her husband's chest. "It's not easily, Makoto!" She reminded, a few more tears slipping down her face. "Two years. We've been trying for two years." The woman sniffled. "Maybe there's something wrong with me. Maybe I can't give you the family you deserve..."

Makoto had to choke back a cry of protest as he heard the girl he loved so much speak that way about herself. "Kyoko...I'm sure you can. And even if you couldn't..." He pulled her face up to kiss the corner of her mouth in the most gentle and loving way he could muster. "...I'd love you just the same." He smiled at her, blinking a few of his own tears from his eyes in the process.

"Makoto..." Kyoko whispered, breathless as he showered her in affection.

The man in question beamed at her even more. "When I agreed to marry you, I promised to love you...not just the family you might give me." He reminded the crying girl. "I love you so much, Kyoko." The brown-haired man rested his forehead against hers, as the two of them snuggled into each other's warmth, not wanting to let go as they healed from this moment of self doubt.

Chapter 5: Day Five: Photo

Chapter Text

  Day Five: Photo

It was a quiet day at Hope's Peak, which was surprising considering all of the students going throughout the hallways. But today was different. It wasn't just a regular day where any student could misbehave at their pleasure. It was a day Makoto had set up to get to know the parents and guardians of his students; also known simply as "Bring Your Parents to School Day."

So naturally, the students took up the opportunity to bring their families along. After all, they usually lived and slept at the school, not really getting to see their families all that much except for on some weekends and breaks.

"They're a lot more well behaved when their parents are around." Kyoko commented. "I think I've only had a solid one student come to my office today."

Of course, said student was Nobuko Teramoto once again.

"Maybe we should do this event more often. It would save me quite a bit of trouble." The lavender-haired woman commented sarcastically, causing her husband to giggle a bit in amusement at her words.

Makoto shook his head, still laughing a bit. "You know that's not why I did it, Kiri." His eyes sparkled as the two of them engaged in this interaction. She never failed to make him smile. "I just want the students to be able to see their parents again. After all, nothing beats the love of a mother and father." The brunet thought of his own parents, grateful that they had actually survived the Tragedy and that Monaca Towa was only lying back then to make Komaru fall into despair.

"I hope one day, we'll be able to do something like this with a child of our own, Makoto." Kyoko sighed solemnly. "My apologies if I can...never give you that." She trailed off a bit, her normally steady purple eyes seeming distracted. She must have been thinking of the last time they tried to have a child together.

"Kyoko, It's alright..." Makoto took both of her hands in his, before pulling her head close to his lips and kissing her there. "Let's just make our students happy today."

The purple-haired girl nodded slowly and hesitantly, before giving Makoto a soft, rare smile.

   -------------------------

"...And that's why my parents are the best in the whole world!" Mitsuru Kurihara finished, the flash of camera's accenting her words, as many pictures were taken of her with her parents that she loved so dearly.

"Very good, Kurihara!" Komaru smiled at her student. "Next is...Teramoto Nobuko..." She read out, as Toko handed her the clipboard with the names of the students on it.

Nobuko was just sitting at one of the desks, in the far corner. "What if I don't want to go?" The teenage girl crossed her arms. "You can't make me do anything."

Makoto gave his sister a pitying glance, as he witnessed this misbehavior in the classroom. "Teramoto, don't give your teacher a hard time, alright?" He went on gently, before frowning. "Where are your parents anyway?" He questioned, not seeing anyone who seemed to be Nobuko's family around.

"I...didn't want to bring them." Nobuko bit her lip. "I don't have anyone to bring for Bring Your Parents to School Day. Sorry, I guess..." She rolled her eyes, and crossed her arms. And Makoto could only barely hear her mutter something that sounded like: "Stupid...stupid event..."

"Kyoko...what are we going to do? Surly she gets sad seeing all of these other students with their families. It's almost like a slap in the face for her!" Makoto went on, still frowning.

"I've been...in the same situation." The former detective's eyes widened a bit as she realized just how much she could relate to the disobedient student. "We should take a picture with her. It's the least we could do." Kyoko suggested.

"Good idea, Kiri!" Makoto praised. "Nobuko, the Headmistress and I are going to take a photo with you, alright?" He beckoned to the surprised Nobuko, who walked up to the front of the room cautiously.

Makoto and Kyoko joined her on both sides, wrapping their arms around the student, who in turn, smiled warmly at them. Which was rare, considering her closed off nature and aggressive personality. And as the camera's flashed with an almost blinding light, the couple could swear they heard Nobuko murmur a small "thanks." in response to them being there for her.

Chapter 6: Day Six: Free Time

Chapter Text

    Day Six: Free Time

Makoto gave a soft smile, as he adjusted the small flower crown atop his head. It was a tradition for him and Kyoko to spend their free time up here in the greenhouse of Hope's Peak Academy. And when they did, they made special flower crowns for one another, often with flowers that had certain meanings, which Kyoko was very fond of, considering her love for flower language.

Meanwhile, the lavender-haired woman in mention was giving a small smile at her own flower crown, which was made from primroses and red chrysanthemums respectively. "It's beautiful, Makoto. As always." She commented, placing her hand on top of her husbands own and threading their fingers together, as they sat in peace in their little garden, the smell of flowers wafting around the couple.

"I've been perfecting the craft just for you, Kiri!" Makoto giggled softly, kissing her on the cheek. "I love you so much..." The lucky man snuggled against her, their shared warmth being the only thing that mattered at the moment.

"I love you too, dear..." Kyoko returned the kiss with one of her own, though this time it was on Makoto's forehead. She nuzzled her face against the softness of his fluffy brown hair, the petals from his flower crown tickling her nose slightly.

The two of them sat in a comforting silence for a while, until an annoyed muttering sound interrupted them.

"Stupid flowers! Why won't they stay together!" Nobuko muttered, clearly trying to make her own flower crown out of a bunch of flowers that would not cooperate.

Makoto laughed a little. "Let me help you." He reached out to an unsure Nobuko, who reluctantly handed him the flowers. "And...I've got some to add." He stated, smiling as he remembered the photo that he, his wife, and Nobuko had shared during Bring Your Parents to School Day, He still had it hanging in his office on a bulletin board, and the sight of it made him beam. The headmaster picked out some gardenias and daisies to add to the teenage girl's flower crown.

Kyoko stared in slight surprise at the particular flowers he'd picked out, before giving a contented smile, looking at Nobuko and Makoto, the latter of which just finishing placing the crown of petals atop the former's head.

"Gardenias representing the purity of a child. Daises for sanctuary..."
