It was another day of Changbin hanging out with Wooyoung and Seonghwa after such a busy schedule.
“How long are you planning on keeping it a secret bin?” Seonghwa asked, watching the younger merman swimming around freely in the pool that they had rented for a few hours at the place they were currently staying, flipping here and there in the water while he sat near Wooyoung, his bandmate, with his tail splashing the water.
The whole kingdom cast had decided to stay over at some place near their filming location so that right after filming their for the intro stage, they would just go straight to the place. They decided that it would actually be good for them to spend some time together just to get to know each other more for this competition as they had a feeling some future stage they would have to collaborate like past seasons.
Changbin, Wooyoung and Seonghwa had rented the indoor pool on the place they stayed at midnight where everyone else had gone to sleep or at least did their own thing. The two sea beings, along with the help of their friend, are able to let go and swim freely for a couple of hours at the pool.
Changbin swam elegantly with his soft silver-ish tail that gave out the holographic illusion, towards them. His hair, just like his tail, was now a silver color with holo illusion that changed into any color you see like his tail. He swam towards the two and when he came up to the surface with a pout on his face, he whined at them. Pushing back his hair to clearly see the two,
"I came out here with you two to swim freely in this form not for you to attack me with more stress!!!!" he hissed at them, especially at the older siren who had brought up the topic.
Seonghwa rolled his eyes and splashed a wave of water towards the younger merman with his beautiful shiny midnight black tail.
"HEY!!!" Changbin screeched at the attack. Seonghwa just raised an eyebrow at him asking silently 'what cha' gonna bout it?'
Wooyoung will never get tired of his sea friends interaction.
Seonghwa is a pureblood siren from a long pureblood line of his species. He has a beautiful black midnight tail and hair. His eyes are a shade of blood red. Tho sirens and mermaids can change their eye colors depending on their mood, but each creature had their own color. Seonghwa was blood red.

Now, you will think that he looks scary, but Seonghwa in his siren form looks majestically beautiful despite being the dark counterpart of Changbin, a merman. Wooyoung will never get tired of telling Seonghwa how beautiful he is and so will their other members when hwa finally told them the truth about himself. Anddd also maybe because he likes seeing how flustered and happy his hyung is when being complimented by them.
Anyways, Changbin on the other side is a merman with a silver-ish tail and hair that creates the holo illusion of any colour the people see. A half blood prince as the ocean creatures always says, as he is a half blood. Half human half merman child of merpeople's King. Yeah he's a prince. He is not in line for the throne as he is a half blood so he's free to do whatever he wants as long as he knows where he stands. Well in other words, he doesn't do anything stupid to taint his family's name.

Having two sea beings as Wooyoung's friends isn't a big deal in this world. There are many supernatural beings living amongst them silently living their lives disguised as humans. Blending in the society.
Anyway back to what they were doing, Wooyoung laughed at them who are now having a water fight at the pool. Both are laughing splashing water with their tails to each other. Chasing each other in the pool.
"Ok ok we need to stop before we accidentally use our powers." Seonghwa laughed at Changbin who glared at him and pouted.
"Come on you two, we need to clean up, we have another half an hour left before we have to go" wooyoung finally said and the two nodded at him and begin swimming to him who was in the other side of the pool holding two towels for them to dry themselves and turn their tails back to their legs.
"Seriously tho bin... We worry about you. You need to tell them soon. Some of the filming schedules are on the date of the full moon."
"yeah. Unlike me, you are half blood. And the last time you tried to not shift because of your stubbornness, you almost died. I am not meeting your father again to explain what had happened and only to get accuse of trying to murder you bin. "
"i will bite them if they try to do anything to you hwa hyung" changbin scowls at the memory. He had been under so much stress one time that he actually missed two full moons and not only that, he rarely shifts that time because it was near their album deadline for the songs.
Changbin's sister had to come up to the surface to help Seonghwa to hypnotize the company to give stray kids a break, especially changbin who was forced back to the palace to heal.
For a half blood, the pain of not changing and missing the full moon was twice the pain of a pureblood felt as they are half of each being. Their bodies needed to be balanced in both forms.
"please just reconsider it… seeing you just drop down that day… really scared me bin... "
Seonghwa said he was there when Changbin was on his limit and fainted.
Changbin sighed and nodded.
"I'll… i'll try hyung. I just…. I'm scared" he whispers. Wooyoung hugged his friend in hopes of giving him comfort.
"You can do it, bin. I believe in you. Besides, I know you feel like SKZ will reject you. But trust me, they will still love you. Trust me on this. A siren never lies to his loved ones. I will never lie to you and Ateez bin." Seonghwa said, which made the young merman cry. His tears streamed down his face onto the towel on his shoulder, quickly turning into white and black pearls as quickly as they touched the towel/ground.
"aigoo bin ah uljimaaa nnggg we will be here for you. If SKZ tries to do something to you, we will kick their ass" Wooyoung who had been hugging him, make his way to face him helping to catch the tears that turned into pearls before it falls into the pool. He cupped Changbin's face and made funny faces for the merman to laugh and he did it successfully.
"ok ok ok! I'll try soon. I'll tell you when I will do it…”
“Now that’s my binnie~” Seonghwa said with a smirk.
They quickly clean up their mess and Wooyoung passes him his pearl tears only for him to pass it back to him. Said that he doesn't really need them and it's better for Wooyoung to have it and well, do whatever he wants with it.
Wooyoung was about to fight him on that part but Changbin slipped from his hold and ran away. Seonghwa just shook his head at the two younger men.
“Wooyoung-ah give up. You know both him and I will keep on giving you the pearls.”
“But hyungggggggg! I can’t just take it again-”
“You can and you willlllllllll” Changbin blep at him. Wooyoung huffed and gave up seeing as he is a one person vs the two sea beings.
“Fine… I'll donate them somewhere later…”
Seonghwa patted his head and Changbin grinned in victory.
They quickly went back to their rooms quietly not to disturb anyone as it was already 4am.

The next day was spent with all groups bonding around and some even reveal that each group has creatures among them for example, Minhyuk of BtoB is a witch who actually has a potion shop back in his hometown. He spends his free time making potions of all sorts in hopes to be able to help anyone in need.
iKon Jinhwan is a cat hybrid and he had released his cat ears and tail after seeing Minhyuk getting rid of the tense atmosphere by revealing that there was nothing to be afraid off and that he and Eunkwang make a promise to everyone that they will protect everyone from the harm of the greedy humans. EunKwang has a reputation among the creatures being born in a family of good hunters.
Good hunters as in those who only hunt rogue and bad creatures who are evil and bring harm to both humans and creatures on land.
They easily open up after the senior group opens up and be comfortable in telling them what they are. The Boyz seems to have a few creatures with them, a wolf hybrid(Juyeon), vampire(Hyunjae) and a witch(Kevin).
SF9 has two vampires(Taeyang and Zuho) and a witch(Youngbin). Ateez has two creatures, a Vampire who looks like a golden retriever , aka Yunho and yeah Seonghwa. But they only reveal about Yunho as they all know how tight their eldest lip is and they respect him for not wanting to tell.
Apparently, the elder members of btob notice this and leave it be as he had said earlier on that it was ok if they are not comfortable to say anything.
Last but not least, Stray Kids. Apparently they have a witch among them and they themselves didn’t know as he didn’t know how to explain his lineage and that his family history is complicated that he himself does not know how to explain other than that he is an elemental witch.
“ ok yeah elemental witches are very complicated to explain…” Minhyuk said when Seungmin, the youngest elemental witch, had revealed himself as one.
Changbin was shocked to know that seungmin, their mongmongie was a witch. So as the rest but they are not that bothered by it as they are all very open to this things. ‘Explains why I'm stuck with him all the time,’ Changbin thought.
An elemental witch can use all elements. Since water is one of them, Changbin had been feeling a certain pull towards the younger one ever since he met him. Now that he has revealed it to everyone, it makes sense for Changbin. He made a brief eye contact with Seonghwa who shook his head. A way of saying not to reveal it yet. He nodded back.
‘Hnnnggg… I hope i can tell them soon’ he felt someone gazed at him and saw Eunkwang was gazing at him. As if scanning for a threat and when he didn’t find any he let out a relief breath and smiled warmly to Changbin. Seonghwa was tense the whole time Eunkwang had scanned the younger prince.
Changbin shivered and smiled back a shaky smile and pressed himself on Minho who was about to complain but saw how shaky the younger one was.
“You okay?” he asked Changbin softly. Worried gaze lingering on him. Changbin shook his head dismissing his question and smiled softly back at him.
“Yeah, I'm fine just… a bit shaky on all the information we receive all in one” Changbin said and laughed softly. Minho smiled and let the younger man press himself closer.
“Didn’t realize how much closer we are to the creatures who blend in the crowd huh” Seungmin said behind Changbin , making the elder yelp and hide behind Minho.
“SEUNGMIN! DON'T DO THAT!!!!!” he whined at the younger man who laughed at him.
“Awww binnie you are so cuteeee” Felix said beside them, making him pout more and hide himself on Minho who was also now laughing at the rapper who had gone red, realizing he yelped out loud and gained attention from everyone around.
“ aigoo kyeoptaaa” he heard Hyunjae said from across them.
‘This is embarrassing omg’ he thought.
Now that the food was all ready , with the help of the witches using spells on speeding up the cooking , they all began to eat the feast they prepared.
Somewhere along the feast, they have randomly opened up a Q and A session for everyone to ask about what they want to know and what they are curious about.
Jisung being the curious kid, he raised up his hands and waited patiently for the creatures to choose him to answer his question.
“You can not answer me if you want, I'm just curious really… ermmm this is for the vampires” he said while playing with the end of his sweater hoodie. Chan who sat next to him patted his back and encouraged him.
“Do vampires have super powers other than the main super strength, heightened senses and all that ?” Jisung asked, looking at the vampires who had now dropped their glamor. Their pale skin makes them look more beautiful under the night light.
They all chuckled at how cute the squirrel-like boy was asking them with curiosity in his eyes.
The vampires nodded at the question asked, making Jisung's eyes shine more with curiosity.
"we actually do… but vampire's powers are as complicated to explain as an elemental witch. We are not going into history for this so long story short, those who are born of royalty and higher ranks, as in purebloods vampires, are blessed with extra abilities or power than the normal rank vampires." Hyunjae explained, answering Jisung first.
"You know how they rank creatures to see how dangerous they are, right? Yeah same as vampires. We are also ranked by it.
S-class vampires being royalty and having more powers in the system and such followed by A-ranks, mostly purebloods, then B-ranks.
B ranks fall in the categories of those who are considered as lucky, unlucky. Why? Because your luck is only decided after you reach your 18th birthday. Lucky being you were still blessed with extra abilities altho being a late bloomer while unlucky means you are born with no powers.
Being the same as normal rankers despite being born in a pureblood. The unlucky ones are always the ones who got outcasts in the covens and some turned into F rankers when they can't handle the pressure from the family.
C and D ranks vampires are considered the normal rank vampire with no extra abilities. Lastly, the rogues. F rankers."
Taeyang and Zuho taking turns explaining to everyone who is confused at the vampire origin.
"It's a lot isn't it? Each creatures' origin is confusing the more you learn their history.“ Yunho said and giggled at their faces when they listened.
" Next question, anyone?" Minhyuk asked while munching his chicken. Kevin raised his hand.
“Hyung~! You're a witch specializing in potions right?” The Boyz Kevin asked Minhyuk who nodded and signaled him to carry on with the question he wanted to ask.
“ How long did you study and learn how to make potions and how did you manage to open a potion shop while being an idol and all that jazz” Kevin asked. Minhyuk smiled at the younger one. He had heard those questions many times and yet he was not tired of answering the same thing over and over again.
“Maybe for other witches making potion is hard as gathering ingredients for it was already one problem and the patience of making it is even more challenging. But for me, since i was young i have a dream of running my own store.
I got my witch gene from my grandmother and she had trained and taught me how to make potions when I was younger, eventually it became a hobby of mine and it escalated to being a passion? Of sorts? I guess?
Ahhaha but yeah , my grandmother owned her own little shop too back then, now that she said she had enough of being stuck in the shop, she passed down the shop to me when i was already an idol haha it was somewhere around ‘WoW’ era. “ Minhyuk explained and they all understood .
“Any more questions?”
Seonghwa raised his hand. Eunkwang pointed at him and nodded signaling to continue.
“Ok since we are on this topic, i’m curious… what are your points of view of the sea creatures?” Seonghwa asked everyone there who was shocked at the sudden question. The question really threw them all off guard. Seonghwa just looks at everyone, his cat-like eyes shining in curiosity while observing each of their body languages.
‘Park Seonghwa wtf-’ Changbin said in their telepathy. Yeah it's a mermaid thing~ anyway, Changbin looked at Seonghwa with wide eyes gasping a silent gasp only Minho and Seungmin could hear who in return tightened his hold on him also squeezing his hands.
The question was really throwing them off guard but the majority of their answers were good enough for the Seonghwa. None really sees the sea creatures as like you know the really bad guy.
Afterall, there were not many of them that likes the attention drawn to them so they tend to just coexist quietly on land.
Especially Eunkwang and Minhyuk.
"That's a tough question to answer but in my personal opinion, most sea creatures are deemed as evil and manipulative. But that is just how humans see it. How the majority of the land creatures see them because they came from another place not similar to them and of course automatically scared them like how they are too creatures on land.
For me, I do not see them as a threat of sort unless they clearly stated that.
I grew up in a family of hunters both being good and bad. I have seen things I wish to not see when I was younger before the law got reinstated for the bad hunters to be put off their work.
My family being the ones who hunted rogues, I managed to learn how to differentiate them with the help of my mother.
And honestly, I have met more good ones than the bad.
From what I have heard back then the bad ones tend to create havoc more in the sea than on land. As the sea is much greater and wide." Eunkwang said which actually makes sense in a way for everyone there and agreed.
Seonghwa eyed the man curiously as he really did spot on that last fact, because yes. The sirens especially love to lure sailboats to their nest.
And others just like to create a mess, a war to feel the power to strengthen their territories.
Changbin shuddered at what Eunkwang said. The last fact was the reason why he yeet off to the land with Seonghwa.
The bad creatures tend to chase after him because one he was royalty so it's like an easy access to them to the royal palace if he were to ever accept their friendship or courtship.
Two, the fact that he is the King's half breed child is another fact that enemies like to focus on. It makes him an easy target especially being the royal family's favourite child because of his bubbly personality despite being a half blood.
He had a lot more cases of being almost kidnapped than the one in line for the throne.
Shaking off the bad memories, Changbin pressed himself further into Minho’s lap, hiding his face on his shoulder. A habit he had developed after coping with his trauma of getting kidnapped and used every so often in the sea. He of course would only do that to the ones he had obviously trusted his life with.
Minho was about to tease the younger that was now in his lap hiding his face on his shoulder, but after feeling his dongsaeng shakiness in his hold, he became more worried.
He rubbed the younger’s back and whispered a soft ‘you’re okay, hyung’s here’ that actually helped to ease him.
“Changbin? Are you okay?” Eunkwang asked, as he saw the younger’s reaction at his answers, especially his last line.
“Ye-yeah… sorry… bad memories” Changbin replied to him, shyly hiding his face underneath his sweater paws as the attention was again now on him. He felt both his members had rubbed his back and thigh to keep him grounded and Seonghwa’s soft humming at the back of his mind with their telepathy. The elder knows how hard it was for Changbin in the sea that resorts to begging his family to let him live on land with Seonghwa as he was the only one he had trust, not even the royal guards pass Changbin’s trust.
Changbin had been a victim far too often that he had a hard time trusting any of the merpeople and sea creatures.
“If it's ok with you, what were the memories about? Is a sea creature involved?” Eunkwang pressed, which had earned a slap on the back of his head by Minhyuk for asking such a question when Changbin had said it was a bad memory.
Changbin giggled at the elder’s antics. And shook his head.
“Its fine, nothing really bad happened-”
‘Nothing bad my ass’ Seonghwa chided in his mind which made him twitch a little , trying to maintain his expression from being pissed at the elder siren who smirked a little at his seat across from them.
“Ah.. nothing bad really happened… just a few unpleasant encounters back when i was young because i made a friend with a siren…”
‘Interesting telling them a half truth huh~ i’m impressed princess~’ Seonghwa said , he really was impressed by the younger, he didn’t really lied to them just redirecting his truth by not saying the details that should not be said, at least for now.
“You have a friend who is a siren?!” Well now everyone is shocked by that information.
“Ermm… yeah? I mean, I guess?”
“H-how? I mean that’s really rare as sirens are one of the creatures who doesn’t to be involved with any other creatures unless they had to and not to mention, no offense but, their egos are on another level that they comes as ignorant and think highly of themselves” said Youngbin who is now really interested in how Changbin befriended a siren on his own without getting maimed by said siren.
Oh little did they know, his first meeting with Seonghwa had been quite an embarrassment for him and yes, Hwa’s ego as a siren was really on another level. Being a pureblood didn’t really help him when he was younger. Thankfully he had learned how to tone it down by befriending Changbin and the younger teaches him things that he had never known before especially about the ranks and so on.
Said siren choked on his drink when The older witch said that.
“Sorry *coughs coughs* it went- *coughs* down the w- *coughs* wrong pipe” Seonghwa said struggling a little and hides himself beside Yunho who was trying his best not to snicker and annoyed the said siren.
The other Ateez member wasn’t really doing a good job at it , especially Wooyoung and San who trying their best not to burst out laughing just to tease the elder.
Changbin was also not doing a good job at it. He had to retreat himself on hiding at Minho’s shoulder again, giggling at the comment made by Youngbin.
“Hyunggg you shouldn’t say that~ the siren is mad” Changbin said while giggling cutely at Minho’s shoulder. Seungmin who finds it too cute caresses his hyung’s chubby cheeks that made him whine at it.
“Wha-what?”
“Sirens, like mermaids, have the ability to communicate with anyone he or she desires telepathically. So even though my friend is far in the ocean, he can still hear or at least read my mind and communicate with me telepathically. And well that comment you made annoyed him” Changbin explains. Which earned him a ‘whoa’ from everyone as not much really knows about sea creatures, especially the humans.
‘You sneaky little biaj-’ Seonghwa said in a pissed off tone which made the younger one laugh even more.
“Did your friend say something funny hyung?” Jeongin asked. Changbin shook his head still giggling at Seonghwa who raged silently at Youngbin’s comment about his species, moreover at him.
“Nah he’s cursing “ which was not a lie as Seonghwa did curse and glared at the younger from behind yunho.
“Oh-oh shit… I'm sorry? Youngbin said he really didn’t wanna make an enemy out of a siren.
“Nah hyung you're fine. What you said was true about their ego but honestly not all of them are like that. Sure their Ego is big but not all are evil. Some are just as kind hearted as other beings although sirens are tough as they reside at the trench part of the sea so I guess that is one of their reasons to be like that.”
‘No shush, u know i’m right.’ Changbin said before Seonghwa could continue his rant in which he grumbles silently in his cup across from them and stops their telepathy at the moment.
The rest was curious now on how Changbin knew this and also how he met the said siren.
It became a story time for them all. They all fill their plates with the last part of their food, desserts while listening to Changbin.
Changbin of course had to alter his story especially at how he meets Seonghwa aka said siren and also tells them some basic information about the merpeople and sirens that they didn’t know. Seonghwa wanted him not to give too much as you never know who is listening outside of them.
And that was it. The Kingdom cast had learned a lot by the end of the night.
They all retired to their room calling it a night as most had said that they didn't think they would be able to process any more information than what had been told.

Chan called everyone into his and Hyunjin’s room for an overview of their schedules the next day and also to discuss some things.
And there they were hoarding around the room and on his bed.
“Ok ok so here is your schedule when we went back to the company. Everyone starts in the afternoon so don’t worry about an early schedule.
3Racha will be at the studio as usual , Dance Racha you will be having a dance session, discussing our choreography for our next stage and vocal racha will be having vocal lessons separately at an hour interval.
Are all that clear?”
Chan notified and everyone nodded. All were grateful to their beloved leader that he managed to clear their morning at least to get over some stuff and the tiredness from the night before going off to work for the rest of the day.
“Now… Minnie~ WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL US YOUR A WITCH?! HUWAAAAAAAAA” jisung asked dramatically and latched on to the youngest 00 liner who yelped and fell off the bed with the quokka.
“HAN JISUNG!”
“Oh shoot sorry- OWWW!”
“Seriously sung?!”
“Ehehhehehehe”
“But yeah min… did… did you… not trust us?”
“Asdfhgfujd;flhj GET OFF ME FIRST QUOKKA!”
Seungmin screeched and pushed Jisung off him who whined and went to Chan, who in return caged him and let him sit on his lap quietly now. Hyunjin was back hugging Felix next to them.
“No Lix, I'm sorry that you think that. But no… it's not that I don't trust you… it’s just…. Being an elemental witch, it’s harder to explain than a being a normal witch like i have to show you of our history book, in which would help you explain my kind a lot more than i could, for you to understand and for that to happen hahahah… you had to kinda meet with my grandpa as he is the head of our coven who hold the book… our powers also work differently i guess…”
“So yeah… I don't really know how to bring that topic up without confusing you guyz more than you are now…i’m sorry”
Seungmin said sheepishly and rubbed his neck.
“Why- why is it so complicated” Minho voiced out everyone’s thoughts.
“A question I have been asking all my life hyung… I hate how i’m the weird one out in the family, the coven, for being the other elemental witch, like sure my cousin is one and is the covern’s next head but urghhh my main powers just had to be water…” Seungmin ranted , grumbling and punching the pillow he was holding.
“Wait what-”
“Oh sorry… Being an elemental witch means basically we can control all elements but, there is one element that would be your main source of power.
For example mine is water, and by water, means my powers lean more on healing than fighting, which is why I'm like the odd one out as my coven consists of witches who can fight? Sort of?
Like most of them are good in their elements or like casting curses and spells and so on. My other cousin who is an elemental like me, his main is electro so yeah obviously the coven chose him as the next head instead of me , not that i mind tho just the treatment is shit on me than him “
Seungmin explained and rolled his eyes at the end. The members slowly understood his dynamics , it took a while but Seungmin tried his best to just explain the basics because like he said it's complicated even for him.
“I see… guyz, if its possible, let’s not keep any other secrets anymore yeah? We’ll never judge you and if anyone did they have to go through me first as your leader and most importantly your hyung yeah?”
Everyone nodded in understanding.
Changbin nodded too , biting his lips hard enough to draw blood.
The metallic taste in his mouth would be a reminder to him to find some time in between their schedule later for him to reveal himself.
Not to mention, he had to inform his family too about this so that they wouldn’t make a mistake by attacking his humans when they showed up on the surface and found out that they knew of his status and being.
