Work Text:

Ladybug was worried when ChatNoir had called her for a meeting. Was it possible for the elusive cat to not have completed his mission? She swung onto another rooftop, she didn’t even have the time to change out of her dress; she only changed her wig and wore her mask.

But, at least her dress was manageable, and she didn’t struggle much when she lifted it. She saw her partner two blocks away. Him pacing didn’t help her anxiety as she jumped over to another building, stopping for a second to catch her breath, ChatNoir saw her, he walked over to the edge, looking at her, and beckoning her to do the last jump over the alleyway.

She did, and he caught her by the waist the moment she landed. Ladybug panted into his shoulder as he held her steady, walking with her away from the edge. She was wearing a long sleeved red dress, and her blonde wig dancing on her shoulders with the wind.

“Chat, is everything alright? Why did you summon me here?” She finally said after her lungs were filled with air again.

He took in her beauty and didn’t answer, but walked to a table he set up on the roof and a few seconds later, a sweet melody was engulfing them. Chat turned around, walking closer to her again, offering his hand,

“Will you do me the honour and dance with me, M’lady?” his eyes shone with the moonlight, and she noticed how the green shirt he wore matched his eyes.

“Seriously?” she took a step back, looking at him unimpressed. Though he can’t see it because of her mask, he knows the expression is there.

“Why not, M’lady? Let’s have fun, and also, I wasn’t satisfied with the dance earlier at the ball.” He looked at her, taking her hand in his. “She wasn’t you.” He twirled her, making her circle him.

Ladybug gasped at the sudden move, while the music started to become more upbeat. “Give a little warning next time, will you?”

He chuckled, nodding his head as he placed his hand on her waist, before moving his foot to the side. He made her follow him, putting her hand on his shoulder and holding his other hand. Another sway to the left, another to the right, he leaned closer to her ear, whispering a small careful before twirling her again.

She giggled, and took a few steps back with him standing still, holding his hands in hers. they swayed to the sides before ChatNoir apparently had enough of the unneeded distance and pulled her gently into his arms, their hands never breaking their hold.

As the cat held her, and twirled with her leaning on his arm holding her waist, looking into her eyes as she looked up at him. He smiled before dipping her backwards, and bouncing her back to her feet.

“Aren’t you a fine dancer, M’lady? I would have danced with you sooner if I knew.” His hand went back to sit on her waist while the other held the free hand of hers out.

“You aren’t half bad either, kitty.” She giggled, taking a step back for him to follow her.

“You mean, I’m a meow-velous dancer, bugaboo.” he smirked, before twirling her twice in a row.

“Haha, aren’t you cocky?”

“Only with you.” They took a steady rhythm, swaying left and right, giggling.

He twirled her so her back  faced him, and placed her hand around his neck before dipping again. Chat pulled her to her feet again, spinning her outwards with only one hand holding his, only for her to spin herself back into his embrace, and she leaned back, enough to stay steady on her feet.

Ladybug panted, looking up into his green eyes. While he leaned down and steadied themselves on his bent knee, he was panting with her, red cheeks and a few beads of sweat on his neck. She stood up when she noticed the silence of the night.

She didn’t know when the song had ended, but she cleared her throat and took a few steps back, away from ChatNoir, who copied her movements and looked away.

“Um, that was nice,” she said, ignoring the warmth that had spread to her chest.

“Yeah, it was splendid. We should do this more often.”

“Sure,”  she agreed. “I should get back to the hotel room and change,” she uttered.

“Yeah same.”

They looked at each other again, before she forced herself to turn around and leave. That’s when he broke into smiles and excited noises.
