"Thank you for coming here this early, Noelle." Kris greeted Noelle by the graveyard.
"No problem! Just like old times am I right?" Noelle had tried to get a reaction out of Kris, only to get a tear as their response.
"Kris, are you alright?"
"It had not been a dream, Noelle. The adventures we had, it happened."
For a brief moment, Noelle had been shocked. The dream that she had, the one that let her finally be strong. The one that she poured her entire heart out to mourn for Dess and the loss of their friendship. Kris acknowledging it and agrees with the sentiment she shared, wishing to fix their friendship once gain.
Kris' tears started to fall. "I am cursed, Noelle. I had always been after Dess had been taken by that thing in the bunker. It somehow got me too. I had to push you away" The tip of Kris' hair had started to fade into dust.
Noelle had been shocked, something this big had been affecting her childhood friend and she did nothing for them.
"It runs on emotions. The more emotional I was, the faster it consumed me. When I realized that, I started to suppress my emotions to the point that people thought I had died inside." Kris' limbs had started to slowly fade into dust as well.
"I thought I had it under control, just try to play it out normally without freaking anyone out even myself." Kris' tears had started to intensify. "It was not until our last adventure together when I lost control over it."
"Seeing you out there, all brave and confident. Despite being held down by others, you still held yourself high in that world." Kris gave a sad smile. "Seeing it for myself had awoken something inside me."
Noelle had blushed upon hearing their compliments to them, for a while nobody had complimented her with so much emotions before so it was a gentle surprise as well.
Her blush did not last long however as she realized the implications of it.
"Kris!" Noelle looked desperate, wishing that the scenario she thought of wasn't the case. "Don't tell me-"
"It awoken all my emotions I had for you. Pride for seeing you accomplish so much without me. Happiness for seeing you finally approach your crush and ask her to the Ferris Wheel. Anger when Berdly tried to drag you back to Queen. Fear from seeing you be captured once again. And most importantly."
Kris' face had started to fade slowly as well.
"Love. Remembering our good old times together. Solving those puzzles together. Going inside Queen's car and driving like a maniac. Sharing that choco-diamond together. Teasing you by the Ferris Wheel poster. All those moments, I loved them equally."
Kris had started sobbing.
Noelle had started tearing up.
"Noelle Holiday." Kris rushed towards Noelle and hugged her.
"I love you so much! I love you with all my being!" Their clothes had started to punch a hole through them.
"I had always loved you! Even after I slowly pushed you away!" Kris had started to cry out all their heart.
"No matter what happens to me! Stay Strong! For My Sake!"
Noelle had also started crying too. Her tears had stained Kris' clothes. But it didn’t matter for her. She won’t have this chance again.
"I love you too! I have not realized it until now, but you were always by my side when I needed it. Seeing that you had sacrificed your emotions to try and not worry me hurts me so much! I am so sorry for not helping you!" Noelle had started to hug Kris harder, as if wishing for them to not go.
Kris' figure had become riddled with holes.
"Thank you..." Kris shot Noelle a sad but genuine smile one last time.
"Don't forget... I’m with you... In the dark..." Kris sang the song one last time with a smile.
After what felt like an eternity, Noelle couldn't feel Kris by her arms anymore. Her tears had started falling like a waterfall without a riverbank to catch it.
She felt something solid in between her arms however, but it seemed small much like an item compared to an animal.
It was a heart-shaped locket.
Noelle had curled up by the gravestone as she clutched the locket tightly to her chest as the sun started to rise.
Father Alvin had come to visit the graveyard to check on the graves to see a sight he would've never seen before.
Noelle had sat down by one of the grave stones, staring at the sky and clutching a locket closely. She looked at heaven, as if waiting for someone to come back. Her eyes, while hopeful, looked dead to him. Tear stains could be seen on both her cheeks and her shirt. Her eyes puffy from all the crying she had done prior.
"Noelle, is everything okay?"
Noelle slowly looked at the voice that came close to her.
She had smiled a sad one towards the priest. "Just waiting for a friend to come back..."
