You Are His Friend Aren't You?!

Summary:

After Wilson makes a deal with Tritter, Chase finally decides enough is enough and calls House's wife. She drives halfway across the country just to confront Wilson. Needless to say that she is not happy with Wilson and House is not happy with Chase for calling her. The catch is that no one but Cuddy, Chase, and House himself knew that he was married.

Notes:

I just got back into House MD today and watched more episodes than is healthy. I thought Vogler was bad but Tritter oh man- anyways before I start to rant enjoy!

Work Text:

No One's POV

Chase was sitting down during the middle of the dwarf case with the mom and her sick daughter. He had just seen House wandering around the hospital for whatever reason, he looked like shit. "Fuck it." He hissed pulling out his phone and pressing the speed dial button. The phone rang a couple of times before it was picked up. "Hey Chasey whats up? You never call me." A female voice asked through the phone sounding very concerned. "Y/n I think we have a problem." Chase began realizing that House would probably never forgive him for this.

~Some Time Later~

"You just turned your back on him is what you did! You're just making excuses because he's an addict! All you're doing is covering your own ass!" Cameron shouted getting in Wilson's face. In truth no one had been particularly happy with Wilson since he ratted House out to Tritter. "Cameron-" Chase said coming up behind her to grab her arm gently and tug her back to her chair. "Don't try to stop me Chase! Someone has to say it!" She hissed turning on him all composure lost. "Oh don't worry Cameron I called someone that will yell at him plenty." Chase replied without looking at Wilson or Cuddy.

"Chase! You didn't?" Wilson gasped whirling around suddenly. "Damn right he did!" A voice shouted from the doorway to House's office that was currently only occupied by House's team, Cuddy and Wilson and now one more. Everyone looked at the doorway and Cuddy and Wilson's jaws dropped. There standing in the doorway was a tall/short woman wearing combat boots and loose black jeans with a tight around the waist black trench coat. She had long/short h/c hair that was in a high ponytail/tucked behind her ears. She was wearing no makeup but looked very tired and was glaring at Wilson something murderous.

"What-" Cuddy gaped at the woman at the door wordless for the first time that House's team had seen her. "Wilson, Cuddy." The woman greeted the two people coldly before she turned to Chase. "Hey Chasey!" She greeted happily. "Hi Y/n." Chase muttered moving to hug her while Cameron and Foreman watched confused as hell. "Chase you called her!" Wilson yelled suddenly. Chase just shrugged looking at Wilson with a cold look that said 'And?'

"Sorry just a minute who exactly is she? And why are Dr. Cuddy and Wilson freaking out?" Foreman broke in. Y/n turned to him with a look that said that she was trying not to laugh. "Sorry for the late introduction. I'm Y/n L/n-House as you can tell by the name I am Gregory House's wife." She said while walking around Chase to wrap her arms around his neck and resting her chin on the top of his head. "The medical proxy for Chasey over here since dear old dad bit the dust." She chirped causing everyone to whirl on Chase. "Chase are you crazy?!" Cuddy asked her eyes bugging out of her head.

"Yes obviously what do you expect after working with House for so long. No offence." He said tilting his head back to look at the woman behind him. "None taken." She smiled ruffling his hair before her face completely changed. It went blank except for her eyes they were filled with an anger that neither Cameron nor Foreman had ever seen in someone before. The room was filled with a tension so thick that you could cut it with a scalpel as everyone watched her tensely. She walked slowly towards Wilson and he backed away behind House's desk and when his back hit a wall he made the decision. "Okay hit me all you like N/n. It's what's best for him." Wilson tried.

Y/n's posture loosened and she smiled so purely that Cameron and Foreman forgot what they had just seen and wondered how someone like House could marry her. Until at least she continued smiling and punched Wilson in the gut. He doubled over with a groan as Cuddy groaned as well. "Think twice before you rat on my husband." Y/n snarled down at Wilson who had dropped to his knees holding his abdomen. "Now then!" she said clapping her hands together "I think I'll go see him now and what was the name of the pig that causing all these issues?" She asked turning to Chase who looked unfazed by everything that was happening at the moment.

"Michael Tritter I think he has an office upstairs in one of the old rooms but you should go check on House first." Chase replied. "I assume they're cutting him off give me a pen Chasey." Y/n chirped pulling a prescription pad out of her pocket. "But she doesn't work her does she?" Cameron asked confused. Y/n looked up from her writing briefly and considered Cameron. "You're Cameron I assume? I'm an army doctor so I have a license but Lisa gave me a scrip pad so Greg would stop bothering her." Y/n said cheerfully ripping the page off the pad in a practiced movement and shoving it in her pocket.

"Anyways I better be off. Dinner later Chasey?" "Sure maybe tomorrow? I think you should spend today with House." Chase replied to which she nodded ruffling his hair on the way out and walking down the hallway happily. As soon as the door closed behind her Cameron and Foreman stood up and turned on Chase. "What the hell was that?! House has a wife?!" They shouted as Chase snickered. "Yeah but I've known her for a while. She was at a station back home for a while so I saw her a lot because she came around to check up on me and my sister." He explained causing Wilson and Cuddy to get involved in the conversation. "You never told me that Chase." Cuddy said concerned.

Chase shrugged "Didn't really matter." He answered relaxed before looking at Wilson and smiling slightly. "You know I mostly called her because I knew you two never would and I've wanted to see you punched in the stomach since the Vicodin bet." He said snickering causing Wilson to try to stand up and immediately sitting back down clutching his stomach. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. She punched out plenty people in Australia and let me tell you she held back on you." Chase said still smiling angelically.

"I don't understand why are Wilson and Cuddy so upset that she's here? I mean she's House's wife shouldn't they have called her earlier?" Cameron asked furrowing her brow. "Yes but those two, they're terrified of her. I think Y/n saw them betting with House or something and gave them a real scare a while back oh and she's like House in the way she treats patients and stuff but multiply House by like five." Chase answered smirking at the older people behind the desk who turned to glare at them.

"I am not scared of her." Wilson snapped. "Sure you're not but when she threatened you the first time you just conveniently stayed away from House for a week?" Chase snickered. "Oh and I also called her because she is the only one that can get House to shut up really because when she's around she's worse than him so he just sits back and watched and laughs." Chase explained grabbing his bag from the floor next to Cameron's chair.

"And where are you going?" Foreman asked raising an eyebrow. "House's house." Chase called through the door as he walked out.

~Meanwhile~

Y/n was fishing through her massive keychain to find the one to House's house. "Oh!" She gasped holding up the right one triumphantly before raising her fist and pounding on the door. "Unless you have Vicodin, Cameron piss off!" an angry voice sounded through the door. "Yes I brought your Vicodin you great lump!" she yelled back. There was a sudden scrambling noise inside the house and the sound of a person hobbling to the door without his cane. The door was thrown open and there was one Greg House that looked like shit. He looked like shit but his face lit up when he saw her.

He didn't even say anything and threw himself at her, his leg giving out halfway through though. She caught him though and hugged him close not caring that he smelled like vomit and like he hadn't showered in ages. "You never call." House muttered burying his face into her neck clutching onto her tightly. "Correction. I call and you never pick up." She replied rubbing his back up and down in soothing motions. "Let's get you inside and I did actually bring Vicodin." She said picking her husband up with ease and walking into through the door. "How did you manage that? Wouldn't it be forgery to write a scrip on someone else's pad?" House asked concerned as if he hadn't been doing the exact same thing. Y/n set House down on the filthy couch and took in the state of the house and sighed knowing that some intense cleaning is needed.

"Cuddy gave me my own scrip pad remember?" She answered fishing through her pocket for something before tossing a bottle of Vicodin at House. He caught it and gave her a look "Are you really enabling me?" he asked confused but trying not to show it but Y/n had known him for so long that that didn't matter she was the only person that would ever beat him at poker. "For now yes. I'm gonna prescribe the Vicodin of course but the pills will have a lower dosage little by little so you get used to it. I'm not taking it away but I prefer we don't have this happen again okay?" she asked snickering as he swallowed a few pills. "Oh and three at a time max." she chirped poking him in the forehead before walking into the kitchen.

"Who called you up? It must have been Chase right? Wilson and Cuddy wouldn't have the balls." He asked from the couch feeling much better from finally having both the Vicodin and his wife with him. "Yeah it was Chasey he was pretty pissed with Wilson by the way he really cares." Y/n replied coming back into the room with a pair of clean sweatpants and a T-Shirt. "Now you should go get cleaned up and changed while I attempt to clean up this ridiculous mess." Y/n chirped shooing House into the bathroom shoving the clothes into his hands. He sat there and looked at her expectantly "You have your Vicodin, you can walk." She said while smirking at him kissing his forehead and throwing his cane at him.

He fumbled to catch it and sent her a glare before hobbling off to the bathroom with his nose in the air in a very House like fashion. Almost instantly after she heard the shower turn on Y/n heard a knock on the door. She knew instantly who it was and sighed before going to open the door. "Hey Chasey." "Hiya, sorry I was going to leave you two be but I remembered his house would probably be filthy and Wilson and Cuddy are already pissed enough that I called you. So can I help you clean up? I've got nothing else to do. I brought Chinese!" he chirped lifting up a takeout bag.

She rolled her eyes and waved him inside. "Come on in! And I don't think Greg will care if you stay for dinner. You're practically part of the family anyway!"
