A black void greeted Izuku when he woke up. The last thing he remembered was a massive monster shaped like a shark with a singular massive horn, a kaiju, crushing the 0-pointer when it came down from the sky like a meteor and started rampaging around. Shortly after that, a silver giant with a Z emblem on his chest manifested from nowhere, noticed that he was struggling with getting the rubble of the brunette girl that helped him at the U.A entrance, helped them get to relative safety before meeting the Kaiju in combat. After that…
SMASH
Right, seeing the giant being overwhelmed, he was finally able to use One For All and punched the kaiju in the face.
“Finally awake Earthling?”
He turned around and met face to foot before he craned his head up to see the silver giant from before, his emblem flashing red.
“I am Ultraman Z, my deepest apologies but right now you have died.”
“I’m dead? No…” Tears welled up in his eyes, he failed before he could even get started, he failed All Might. Kacchan was right, he really is useless
“And it appears that I too am in ultra-peril.”
That shocked him out of his depressive state, if even the giant couldn’t defeat the Kaiju, how many would die before All Might intervened, “The exam, there still too many people there!”
“We still have one option, if you and I merge, we can fight again. Will you aid me? I require your aid.”
Him? Doubt filled his thoughts, he already failed, what if he failed again and got more people hurt? He was Deku, someone quirkless, useless…
Sensing his doubt, Z asked softly, “Is something wrong earthling?”
“Why me? I’m just Deku I’m weak, not a hero and I’ll just get in your way, I don’t even have a quirk of my own.”
“Earthling I don’t know what these quirks are, but you are undoubtedly a hero. While everyone was running away, you stayed behind to help that other earthling. So please” Z bowed his head, “Lend me your aid!”
Seeing the hero bow his head for him, asking for his help, Izuku wiped his tears away and clenched his fist in determination. Someone other than All Might believed in him and needed him, he will leave his dark thoughts for later, “So, if I join you, we can defeat the monster and protect everyone?!”
“Yes we can!”
“Then I’ll do it!”
Z dispersed into light before forming into a device in his hands, the Ultra Z Riser
“Now you shall press the trigger of that Ultra Z Riser.”
Izuku pressed the only button he could find, and a doorway appear before him, entering it after he was prompted to by Z. He reached out for the card that appeared before him, flipping it over to see himself on it
“That Ultra Access Card must be set in the Z Riser.”
Izuku slotted the card into the Riser
IZUKU ACCESS GRANTED
His belt glowed and a blue container appeared on the side, he opened it to reveal 3 medals. He took them out and held them in his palm
“These are the Ultra Medals of my masters, Zero, Seven, and Leo. In the slits you must put them, it should grant us my masters' power.”
Izuku mentally noted that Z had a lot of masters as he slotted the medals into the Riser
“Next, scan the medals. Fear not, a minute in this space is not even a second outside”
That relieved Izuku, he thought that he was taking way to long and by the time he was done the kaiju may have caused untold destruction. He pulled the Riser down, scanning the medals

Z appeared behind him
“Good, Now I ask that you chant my name! Ultraman Z! ”
Izuku raised the Riser above his head, “ULTRAMAN Z”
Only for nothing to happen, Izuku leaned back, maintaining his pose and whispered, “Er Z-san, nothing is happening”
“The trigger, press that trigger as you do that” Z whispered back. Izuku pressed it hoping that he can really save everyone

-Examiner’s room, after the fight-
Nezu stared contemplatively at the Z, or was it an N?, in the sky. The giant was defeated once and rose again with a different form after the prospective student, no actual student he wasn’t going to let power like that get away from him, punched the Kaiju and broke it horn. Who or what was he? Nezu doubted the giant was an enemy seeing that he saved examinees, but he did kill the Kaiju. Not to mention, quirks like the Kaiju and the giant don’t just go unnoticed for so long. He noticed one of his teachers walk towards the door, probably to go provide aid at Ground Zero.
“Hebikura, make sure to have an adequate lesson plan ready, I don’t want another Eraserhead debacle.”
The man paused, letting out a sigh as he opened the door, “Of course Principle Nezu, we may share a name, but I like to think I’m a far better teacher than him” Before disappearing faster that the eye could see.
-USJ-
Izuku grunted as he deflected another strike from black beast as Ultraman Z Alpha Edge, thanking whatever god that existed that Z could become human sized and allow him to put up an actual fight against the Nomu, something that at least had 2 quirks according to the villain clad in hands. His mind was racing as he broke down the beaked-faced thing before him. Z told him that what ever it was, alive wasn’t one of them and that it classified as a human on a technicality and the previous users of One For All were usually silent, offering nothing but warnings on what to avoid. On his periphery, he could see his teacher holding back the remaining villains, speeding around and using his katana on anyone that looked as though they were going to interfere
“Z-san, it’s healing whatever we do to him. Is there any way we can cauterize the wound we inflict?”
“Not in this form. If only we had Ultraman’s medal, we would have access to the flames we need!”
Izuku gritted his teeth, “I guess I have no choice but to hold him here till everyone gets to safety, hopefully the is a limit to that regeneration.” His eyes widen when he felt something flew at him from the side, catching it to reveal a medal, Ultraman’s Medal, “This is? But where did it come from and who had it to begin with?”
“This is not the time Izuku, its time for a Ultra fusion! Use the power of courage that burns in scarlet flames!”
“Yes! Burn in Scarlet Flames, the Power of Courage!”

-Shiragaki’s POV-
Tomura scratched his neck in frustration, he couldn’t believe that the mid boss was some kind of two boss gank and was even holding back his Anti-All Might party member. When the small form of the silver giant turned red after the hero threw something at him, he thought he must have unlocked the phase two of this irritating boss fight so he must be close to defeating them. Only to watch in disbelief when he saw the now red man match his Nomu for a punch and have it lose in the match up when the Nomu’s arm erupted from the force and flame covered it. Red man than flex at him, taunting him before attacking again. At this point he knew he lost, his trump card was losing, and the teacher wasn’t even allowing him a chance to attack anyone else.
“Get us out of here Kurogiri.” He growled as red man used a flaming uppercut to punch his Nomu out of USJ. He swore, he will kill this boss if it was the last thing he did.
-Training Camp-
Izuku blasted Muscular away with a low-power Zestium Beam, not wanting to kill the man. He turned to Kouta, “Quickly run to safety!”
Kouta stared at him in disbelief, unable to comprehend what he just said, “If I run then no one would be fight! Who are you going to show off to?!”
Izuku frowned at that, he understood why Kouta had such a view, “Kouta! A Hero’s duty is to ensure that people are safe. As long as you are okay, I don’t care about anything else!”
Kouta looked at him than remembered back to when his parents were still alive, coming back home tired and still make time for him. He might not believe in heroes anymore but maybe… just maybe Izuku can be his. He quickly handed the medals that the spikey guy gave to him to Izuku. Izuku blinked, not believing what he was holding in his hands.
“A spikey guy gave them to me, told me to hold on to it for now. These are yours right? Please win!”
“They're Ultras from another dimension, Tiga-san, Dyna-san, and Gaia-san. Izuku, borrow their phantasmagoric mystic lights and stop this villain for good!”
“Yes! Phantasmagoria, the Mystic Lights!”

Kouta’s eyes glimmered with hope once thought lost as Z manifested in a new form in front of him
-The Raid-
Izuku glared at Overhaul. Overhaul used his quirk to become an amalgamation of Kaijus and his own henchman and was the size of a building. With Eri secured on his back, he promised deep in his heart that he would defeat this villain and proved that Eri was right in putting her faith in him. Izuku was shocked when his chest started to glow and two medals emerged from it along with another that came from the sky.
“Z, these are…”
“I don’t know how it possible Izuku but they are definitely medals that we can use, now its time for an ultra-fusion and save Eri!”
“Right!” Activating the Riser and entering the space, Izuku slotted his card as Eri looked around in wonder.
“Witness the resolve of generations of heroes!”

Together with Eri they chanted his name
“ULTRAMAN Z!”
