Work Text:
Sunken cheeks, tired eyes, and the moon was only half full.
Everyone had changed for the better after the war, but somehow Lupin stayed the same. Hermione knew it wasn’t her business but no one else cared that Professor Lupin’s robes were patched and frayed.
A bowl of soup, whispered thanks, and a plea to try her hand at sewing.
Cries of pain, shattered bones, and the moon is full again.
As he re-emerges at lunch, she is there with more soup and sewed robes.
Longing looks, long talks, and laughter.
From soup and bread to red meat and potatoes Remus Lupin changes.
Shoulders set. Hands shaking. He holds her hand tenderly.
Two months have passed and he is no longer her professor from school.
Bright eyes, full cheeks, and his lips are as soft as they look.
He asks her on a date and her answer is yes and in a year from now when he asks her to marry him her answer will be yes again.
