Sleeping

Summary:

Venom travels through Eddie's body while he sleeps and does some thinking.

Work Text:

Eddie was always asleep by the time the moon was high, practically shining above them. He would curl into bed in a new softer pair of coverings, and his breathing would slow along with the rest of his organs.

Venom always thought that such a state was so inefficient, it left them so unbelievably vulnerable. Yet despite the vulnerability they did, humans did a lot of strange things, things Venom would never be able to comprehend.

Like how Eddie would stare into the icebox for a time or stand under scalding hot water, even when he was clean, but what confused Venom the most were Eddie's mind.

It seemed to always try to sabotage itself, he couldn't comprehend why. Why would his brain turn on him? Some days loomed above him like a dark cloud, forcing any joy to retreat into the recesses of his mind. Or it would wrap around him right enough to suffocate, all the while sending false panic through his host.

But during this time what the brain did, fascinated Venom to no end. It would send a cocktail of chemicals around and an image would be created, and then the process would repeat. Until it formed something that was like the TV that Eddie kept in the "living room".

But that wassn't here nor there, Venom wove through Eddie's fragile capillaries before seeping out into the cavity that held his host's heart. Out of all Eddie's organs this one was the best, Venom decided. This one worked tirelessly to keep his host alive, pumping the life giving oxygen through Eddie's blood.

From there he sunk up the the surface of Eddie's skin, pulsing through the fibrous muscles, and looked down at his hosts resting body.

His body was interesting to say the least, it was better than any other host that he had inhabited. And venom was so happy to share it with him, and he had no intention of letting him go.
