this takes place during the early days of the smp. this is a short one shot type fic about Canon dream and Canon George. hope you enjoy!

Work Text:

The tall grass brushes against George's legs as he walks. He stoops down and plucks a small purple flower, and places it inside his wooden basket. He hums a tune under his breath, and continues walking, picking flowers as he goes. The flower field was his favorite place in all of the smp. The air smelt of the aroma of the different flowers, and George loved to look at the different plants.
He came across a patch of wild mushrooms, and bent down to examine them. Not poisonous. He picks them, one at a time. Immersed in his work, he doesn't hear the footsteps behind him.
A voice yells "Boo!", and George jumps up, placing a hand on the hilt of his sword, ready to attack.
"Calm down Georgie, it's just me."
George heaves a sigh of relief. Dream.
Dream's dirty blonde hair was wet with sweat, and George couldn't help but notice the small glint of blood on the tip of Dreams sword, and the spatter of red on his forehead.
Noticing George's concern, Dream says, "We ran out of food. Had to sacrifice a cow or two."
George nods. "Where's Sapnap?"
"Back at the house. I think he's fixing up the roof after the storm the other day."
"So...how did you find me?"  George asks.
Dream shrugs and says, "You always come here to get away. I know you."
George flushes. "What else do you know about me?" He leans forwards towards Dream.
Clearing his throat, Dream walks to a spot behind George.
"I know that this"- he picks a small pink flower and hands it to George "-is your favorite flower. You like the color and the smell, and the way the petals feel between your fingers." George stood there shocked. He hadn't expected Dream to know such tiny details about him.
"I also know", Dream continued, "-that the collar of your shirt always flips up when you bend down." In two strides, Dream is in  front of George, and places his hands on George's collar.
George's stomach flips and his cheeks burn scarlet.
Dream fixes George's collar, and George notices the curve of Dreams lips.
Dream steps back, and the sunlight casts the perfect backdrop behind him. Strands of hair fall into his face, and George observes how beautiful he looks.
George rummages in his small basket and pulls put a rag.
Stepping towards Dream he motions to his forehead.
"May I?" Dream nods and George presses the rag to the blood spot.
George carefully wipes the blood off Dreams forehead. The two's eyes connect, and George can make out the specks of gold amongst the green.
"George."
George's breath hitched at the softness in Dreams voice.
"Yes?"  George moves a tiny step closer, their chests now touching, hearts beating in unison, breathing as one. It was as if all time had stopped. All their worries about Tommy and the discs, the broken roof, the dwindling food supply, all vanished. It was just them, in the flower field, the warm sun beating down on them, the wind blowing in their hair.
Dream clears his throat and says, "I think the blood is gone." His hand moves to George's wrist, and Dream moves George's hand down to his side. Their eye contact hadn't waivered once.
"George."
"Yes?"
"Your eyes have gold spots in them. I never noticed before. They're...beautiful."
Before Dream knew what was happening, George kissed him.
It was soft, loving, and yet full of passion and hunger. George had wanted to do this for so long.
Time seemed to stop, and George did not know how long they were there, until Dream pulled away.
"I...why....wh-"
George burned bright pink and stepped away from the blonde.
"I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me, I-"
"George. Thank you."
"For what?", George asked puzzled.
Dream smiled, "For doing what I've waited so long to find the courage to do."

The two stayed in that flower field until dusk had crept upon them. The flower crown Dream had made for George, hung haphazardly on his head. They walked, hand in hand, back to camp, the sun setting behind the lovers.
