Work Text:
The small dressing room was bustling with people in kimonos, coming in and out to check their appearance on the big mirror in the middle. Perfume of scent Kim Dokja is not very fond of was wafting in the air and he can only grimace inwardly less he wants his make up ruined.
“Ah, Kim Dokja just a little bit more!” Min Jiwon declared as she drew the last stroke of eyeliner on him. “Perfect!”
Min Jiwon eyed him from head to toe. He suddenly felt conscious about his red ‘kimono’ especially tailored by the playhouse owner herself. The higanbana patterned cloth hugged his body like live vines, ready to grab his innocent prey. He’s wearing laced lingerie of the same pattern, much to his objection but Min Jiwon insisted this will immediately make his target fall for him. Kim Dokja can only succumb to her reasoning. He’s also wearing a hairpin stick with dark red butterfly designs– perfect color to cover the blood stains that it’ll probably have if his mission ended up being dangerous.
“If your job doesn’t go well tonight, please remember that you are always welcome to join my theatre house.” Kim Dokja doesn’t know if she's serious but Min Jiwon was indeed looking at him like he’s her most prized possession.
“Jiwon-ssi, if I fail this job then I doubt you’ll even have my body to bury.” Kim Dokja nonchalantly said, not noticing the way Min Jiwon suddenly paled after hearing his words. Not that Kim Dokja would care, this will probably be the last time he will see the theatre owner– failed job or not. He had stayed in her place in the Red Light District for a week now, courtesy of the mission he’s taken.
“D-Don’t say it like you’re gonna die!” Min Jiwon muttered, looking like she’s going to burst to tears any second, “You have to live long Kim Dokja!”
Kim Dokja thought she was worrying too much for someone whom she only knew for a week. All Min Jiwon knows about Kim Dokja is that he’s an ‘informant’ that needs to go under guise as an escort in her theatre in order to obtain information. In fact, their first meeting was a wreck. Min Jiwon didn’t want to accept Kim Dokja in her theatre house even though she was offered huge money upfront by his agency.
‘Too ugly!’ Kim Dokja’s face twitched but then he thought it was the truth. However, he really needs this for his mission. Ugly or not, he needs to be an escort in this play house so he used his mouth and coaxed his way in. It was successful but he might have overdone it since Min Jiwon ended up being overly fond of him though.
“Madam, they are here.” One of the guards appeared at the door to deliver the message. All of the escorts inside the room immediately scrambled to do final touches on their kimonos and make ups. Their prey are finally here. Kim Dokja sighed and hugged his body.
Min Jiwon kept sneaking worried glances towards him as she led them to the entrance where they will welcome the exclusive guests for tonight– Kim Dokja’s objective. Kim Dokja’s mission is to get as much information as possible from the trade that will be happening between Asgard and 999. Asgard is a company that manufactures firearms and they’re currently the main supplier of the Military and is not supposed to be here. However, it seems strings were pulled that’s why they’re entertaining a deal with 999 right now, a pharmaceutical company who suddenly entered the market with huge stocks at their disposal. Why are they dealing with a firearms company? Kim Dokja should know the answer to that by the end of the night.
“Welcome Mr. Han, Mr. Cheon! And also to our other visitors! Let my beautiful attendants here escort you to your seats.” Min Jiwon flashed her infamous theatrical smile before she beckoned her ‘attendants’ to move. Of course, Kim Dokja went straight to Cheon Inho, 999’s CEO. He didn’t notice the various hungry gazes directed at him and his body, disappointed that he didn’t go to accompany them instead. Cheon Inho looked at him with an amused expression.
“You look like you can kill me with your hair pin, I like it.” Kim Dokja can only offer what he thinks is an alluring smile. Ah, just like what his boss said, it seems that the people on top of 999 shouldn’t be underestimated. They have been trying to get detailed information of the company’s foundation but there was no success. They only know who the CEO is. It seems like there’s a power much stronger than their agency preventing them from snooping around.
Kim Dokja was about to sling his hands on Cheon Inho’s offered arm when a small commotion happened just behind them. One of the escorts Kim Dokja knew was sitting on the ground, tears staining her face as she looked at the man in front of her with fear. “Oh– Mr. Yoo does not want anyone to accompany him tonight,” Cheon Inho explained. “Leave him be.”
Kim Dokja looked at the man in question only to discover that ‘Mr. Yoo' was already staring at him.
Dangerous. That was the first word that came to Kim Dokja’s mind as he analyzed the man’s features. There was a huge scar on his cheek that tried to ruin his extremely handsome face but failed to do so. His gaze was sharp and piercing, almost like he was seeing through Kim Dokja’s facade. It didn’t help that his body under his white coat looks like he can choke Kim Dokja to death without a fight. The air around him was also mysterious– in a really bad way. Kim Dokja needs to stay away from this man if he wants to succeed tonight.
“Cheon Inho-ssi, let’s go?” Kim Dokja leaned to him a little in an attempt to look seductive. It might have worked since the man moved his frame closer to him before walking off to their table.
The trade between the two parties didn’t happen immediately. After everyone had settled on their seats, the play of the night started. It was a play about a certain star descending to the mortal world after falling in love with the human he’s been watching. The play was really entertaining with Min Jiwon as the star except Kim Dokja couldn’t really enjoy it with the burning gaze directed to him all throughout the act.
Kim Dokja was really good at pretending he doesn’t notice it, flirting with Cheon Inho everytime he got the chance. Luckily, Cheon Inho was very easy to fool. With just a few smiles and touching of skins, he’s already all over Kim Dokja.
“Cheon Inho.” The man Kim Dokja came to know as Yoo Joonghyuk suddenly spoke from behind them. “Focus on your objective.”
Cheon Inho visibly stiffened after hearing the calm but imposing demand of Yoo Joonghyuk. Kim Dokja couldn’t help but question the way they interacted inside his mind. Yoo Joonghyuk was supposed to be Cheon Inho’s subordinate but he boldly addressed him without honorifics. In addition to this, Cheon Inho looks scared. Was this Yoo Joonghyuk person important? Kim Dokja needs to investigate it later.
"A-ah right!" Cheon Inho cleared his throat. "Let's get down to business since the play is over."
Min Jiwon nodded her head as she motioned the head of both parties to follow her. Kim Dokja tagged along Cheon Inho, trying to hide his greed for the information he'll probably obtain tonight. They moved to a more secluded room on the second floor of the theatre house. Only the heads and their escorts were allowed to enter the meeting room so Kim Dokja was slightly shocked when Yoo Joonghyuk entered the room too. I guess he's really an important figure.
There were a total of 9 people in the room, 3 from Asgard along with their escorts, 2 from 999 then Kim Dokja. They were seated on a long table and it just so happens that Yoo Joonghyuk sat in front of Kim Dokja's seat. He was getting pissed at the blatant staring the man was giving him so he raised a brow at him. Yoo Joonghyuk just impassively stared back as he took a sip on his wine.
Is he looking for a fight? Kim Dokja thought.
“Since we’re all here let’s start?” Cheon Inho initiated and Kim Dokja’s heart skipped a beat. He’s so close to achieving his objective so he leaned closer to Cheon Inho, anticipating his next words. “First, I would like to introduce to you the real CEO of 999.”
Huh? Kim Dokja froze on his seat. Real CEO?
His mind immediately raced to the various possibilities Cheon Inho’s statement incited and he can only think of one right now. His eyes darted to the man in front of him, still looking at him but now with a smile tugging on his lips.
“Pardon us for deceiving you but confidentiality is important when it comes to the project we are aiming to do.” Cheon Inho chuckled but Kim Dokja couldn’t find anything right now. “Our real CEO is Mr. Yoo Joonghyuk.”
The other people in the room nodded their heads like what Cheon Inho said didn’t matter much. That was indeed the case since Yoo Joonghyuk is here, no harm done on the deal but not for Kim Dokja.
He glared at Yoo Joonghyuk who’s now leaning back on his seat while refusing to meet his eyes. Yoo Joonghyuk was now wearing an intimidating expression, his smirk from earlier gone.
Kim Dokja feels like he could kill anyone on the spot. All night he’s been trying to please Cheon Inho so he can easily coax him into submitting information to him only to discover that he's been seducing the wrong person all along? Kim Dokja subconsciously gripped Cheon Inho’s arm harder.
“Hmm? Dokja-yah, is something wrong?” Cheon Inho inquired but all Kim Dokja felt was disgust.
“Ah nothing!” Kim Dokja flashed his smile, “I’ll excuse myself for a second, I think I need a retouch.”
Retouch his ass. Kim Dokja is fuming mad inside and he needs to cool his head first before he ends up piercing Cheon Inho’s side with his hair pin. “Alright.” Cheon Inho tried to sniff his neck but Kim Dokja was already gone.
Kim Dokja’s stride was fast. He doesn’t know where he’s going, he just needs to stay away from that damn room for five minutes. Surely they won’t disclose important information in that short period of time?
“If I don’t get anything out of him I’ll kill that man.”
“Kill who?”
Kim Dokja didn’t notice anyone approaching him. He doesn’t know if it’s because his emotions were on the rise or the man who appeared was skilled enough to erase any kind of trace in his movements. Before he knew it, Kim Dokja’s back was slammed on the wall. His hands holding his hair pins were held up in the air by the man’s strong grip. His lower body was rendered immobilized when the other man pressed down on him with his own body. Kim Dokja was trained for stealth and not in one-on-one combat so he can’t do anything when cornered like this.
First, he let his emotions get through him. Second, he got careless with the way he acted. He thought his undercover was foolproof but the incident he’s currently under right now proves it otherwise. He’s good as dead now.
“Answer me, Kim Dokja.” Yoo Joonghyuk whispered on his ear, “Who are you going to kill?”
“You and then myself!” Kim Dokja tried to resist Yoo Joonghyuk but this only made the latter press his body harder on him. Fuck, why is this bastard so strong? He thought he'd only battle Cheon Inho if things went wrong but then this person had to intervene. Or more accurately, Yoo Joonghyuk was his real target after all.
“Don’t think I’ll let you escape my hold, Kim Dokja.”
“Stop saying my name familiarly, bastard!”
“Hmm?” Kim Dokja could feel the bastard’s breath on his neck. Why is he so close? Is he going to bite Kim Dokja to death? “That jerk was practically moaning your name all night but I don’t get to call you by your name?”
Kim Dokja felt Yoo Joonghyuk’s grip hardened more. His wrists are going to be snapped off at this rate. “You were offering your body to the wrong person, Kim Dokja. How did it feel?”
“Just kill me now.” Kim Dokja was getting impatient. He’s going to get killed anyway so what’s with the wait?
“Kill you?” Yoo Joonghyuk grabbed his jaw to force Kim Dokja to face him. Kim Dokja was then again met by the most handsome face he saw in his entire life. Well, at least he’s going to get killed by the prettiest man in the world. “I am really mad right now, Kim Dokja.”
Then just kill me! Kim Dokja thought as he couldn't move his mouth to speak. He can only glare at Yoo Joonghyuk.
“You were supposed to offer your body to me, Kim Dokja.” Yoo Joonghyuk’s statement made Kim Dokja frown. “Your slutty body was supposed to be mine, Kim Dokja. How can I just kill you?”
What the fuck is this bastard saying?
“Indulge me too, Kim Dokja.” Yoo Joonghyuk growled before Kim Dokja felt his lips clash with Yoo Joonghyuk’s, hungry and ready to devour all of him.
