Chapter Text

Cindy Moon had only ever been to Avengers Tower once before they moved out. It had been the winter of 2015 and her primary school had been invited to do a tour of the lower levels. It had been interesting, but what had really stuck with her was how alive everything felt.

The newly renamed Oscorp Tower didn’t have the same liveliness that Avengers tower had once had, instead, it felt cold and metallic, bathed in the glow of servers and computers as Cindy was carted lower and lower into the basement.

“Where are you taking me?” she asked tearfully, the scientists did not answer.

Despite having only moved into the tower a few months beforehand, the tower looked very similar to the old Oscorp facility that Midtown had toured in 2020, with vaguely sinister-looking machines filled with chemicals and workbenches covered in sharp and jagged devices.

Cindy tried to move but found that she was strapped against whatever bed or panel they were moving her on. The group stopped in front of a large door and it opened slowly with a hiss. Inside was what looked like a large operating table, large screens all around it displaying graphs and readings that were far above Cindy’s skill set.

A few guards, wearing heavy armour not dissimilar to the people who had attacked Peter and the woman talking to him, unstrapped her and grabbed her by the arms.

The last thing Cindy saw before the world faded to black was the impassive faces of the scientists as she was strapped onto the table.

Ned - 5.06 pm: Yeah, I know

MJ - 5.06 pm: Makes sense, Spider-Man never struck me as someone who would do well out of the Sokovia Accords

Abe - 5.06 pm: We’re getting off-topic, we’re sure that Peter can fight those guys off?

Ned - 5.07 pm: Absolutely, I’m talking to him now, they know where she is and they just need to get in without drawing attention

Cindy - 9.10 am: Yes Peter, I remember the deeply traumatic event that took place less than twenty-four hours ago

Peter - 9.12 am: So basically, Nat was just going over the info we stole and we found pages and pages on their spider-based experiments. We also found video footage of me in both my identities and some hairs and other DNA samples of me

Nat - 9.12 am: What he means to say is they added some Peter DNA to you and you got his powers

Ned - 9.13 am: Wait, so Cindy is like 3% Peter now or something?

Peter - 9.13 am: 2.653% to be exact

Peter pointed out that it was Romanoff who had actually answered his texts and then made some point about the accords that caused Stark to storm off in a huff
