"If I am a color, what color am I to you?"
Asahi stop mixing paint and look at the guy who asked him the question. He wants to laugh at the sudden question but the guy looks serious.
"Orange."
The guy smiled, satisfied with Asahi's answer.
"Isn't that your favorite color?"
"Yeah." Asahi answered trying to avoid the teasing look from Jaehyuk by putting his attention back to mixing colors.
They're inside Jaehyuk's newly bought house. The older insisted that they should paint the bedroom walls by themselves and since Asahi is the one who's more into paints and arts, he is the one leading the project that Jaehyuk initiated.
"If I'm orange that means I'm your favourite color, Sahi-yah." Jaehyuk said sporting a wide smile.
Asahi just rolled his eyes and starts putting paint on the roller brushes.
Well, it's true. Jaehyuk is Asahi's favorite person. Whenever the older smiles, whenever Asahi sees that whisker smile, he only thinks of one color, Orange.
Orange is not only Asahi's favourite. He is obsessed with that color to the point that the first ever song he wrote was titled Orange.
He met Jaehyuk in the most normal way of meeting a friend, in school. They're assigned to sit next to each other and after that the guy has been his own giant puppy. Following him around with that beautiful whiskered smile.
Almost 10 years have passed, his giant puppy is still a giant puppy, but this time, Asahi is more attached to Jaehyuk.
Asahi realized his feelings long ago and he is not dumb to know that Jaehyuk feels the same way because minus the label, they've been doing what couples do.
"How about you?" Asahi asked the man as he rolled the brush on the wall.
"Mine is Blue." Jaehyuk answered. "Bright baby blue".
Asahi snort, not only because he is expecting a different answer, but also for Jaehyuk's description of his favorite shade of blue.
Asahi continued painting his side of the wall. He saw Jaehyuk did the same. Jaehyuk started from the farthest left side and Asahi on the right side. It didnt take so long before the two met in the middle and Jaehyuk being playful as he is, tried to steal the spot Asahi's roller brush is working on.
"Ya!"
Due to annoyance, before Asahi could think he alread landed his paint brush on Jaehyuk's shirt. The black shirt is now painted with beige.
Instead of getting mad, Jaehyuk smiled widely that made Asahi's eyes widen because he knows what will come next.
"So this is what my Asahi wants?"
The older dip his own hand in the pail of paint and before Asahi could react, Jaehyuk already wiped his painted hand on Asahi's white T-shirt.
"Jaejae-ah!"
He stomped his foot in annoyance.
"What? You started this first, oh, now let me add some more."
Asahi tried to ran away from Jaehyuk but since the room size couldn't do that much, the older was able to corner him.
His strong arm snaked around Asahi's waist. The poor guy just closed his eyes preparing for the paint attack.
He felt Jaehyuk's finger on his left cheek, drawing a figure that seems to be heart.
"Sahi-yah, you are so beautiful."
Asahi opened his eyes and sees Jaehyuk looking at him intently.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Asahi tried to ask to lighten the situation. Their position is making his heart beat fast.
"Looking like what?"
"Like you wanna kiss me..."
"Well, I do." Jaehyuk said in soft voice that gave Asahi butterflies. "I do want to kiss you, Asahi."
Asahi doesn't know what to say. He tried to find words but his mouth remained shut as Jaehyuk's face moved closer to his.
"Can Jaejae-ah kiss you, Sahi-yah?"
'Fuck it' Asahi cursed mentally and grabbed Jaehyuk's neck and make their lips meet.
Jaehyuk smiled because of Asahi's action. He kissed Asahi back and gently squeezed his waist. Asahi gasped and the older took the opportunity to explore more of Asahi's mouth.
Jaehyuk lifted Asahi up, still kissing the younger, pinning him against the wall as he deepen their kiss.
Jaehyuk stumbled upon the pail of paint. The floor is surely a mess now but they don't care. They dont even care that Asahi's back is on the freshly painted wall.
When they stopped kissing to catch their breath, Asahi finally gained the courage to ask.
"Am I bright baby blue to you?"
There's a pause before Jaehyuk answered, "No."
Asahi pouted. Jaehyuk find it adorable that he kissed the younger cheeks.
"You're like kaleidoscope to me, Asahi." Jaehyuk said as he caress Asahi's face.
Asahi smiled and Jaehyuk's heart swell with too much love. Because when he sees Asahi's dimpled smile and smiling eyes, he sees kaleidoscope turning to colorful fireworks.
"Then who is bright baby blue to you?" Asahi asked.
"Us. Coz being with you is my favorite thing."
