November 14th, 1991 - 5:42 p.m.
Cold and scolding, the tears flowed down, pushed against Cas's face by the wind. Why me? Why him? Of all people, it had to be him. He thought, as the dark of the night convinced the heartbroken teen to go inside to the warmth of his home. Footsteps sounded in the background as a small flame colored head popped around the corner. “Cassie? You okay?” She said, the worry she wore on her face coated her voice as well. “Mhm. I’m okay.” He tried to smile, but more tears formed. A frown grew on the girl's face as she ran up to him, hugging his legs. “Oh cas-“ He sniffled, wiping the salty water onto his splotched sleeve as he kneeled down beside her. “What happened?” Hesitant, she looked at him as she waited for an answer. “The plan didn’t work.” Her mouth dropped as she threw her arms around him, arms laid across his shoulders. “I’m so sorry.” As much as the boy tried to contain his emotions, they continued to fight back. “It’s okay, Anna.” They stay there a few moments, love and sympathy seeped through the girl’s apologies. “He doesn’t deserve you anyway.”
